  • New Dreams - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Thur. 8-8-24 #1319

    08/08/2024 Duración: 05min

Mitch Albom’s Tuesday People Podcast comes through again!!  I’ve always said, Mitch would have been a great “teacher” - at any level. He became a great “teacher” once he got reconnected with his teacher, Morrie Schwartz.  This episode, Episode 209 - Find Your Vine (And Swing to a New Dream) really got me thinking about the importance of having dreams and goals and not necessarily accomplishing each of them, but realizing we become the best versions of ourselves when we keep trying to go after new ones. We become better along the way of trying to go after our dreams and goals.  This was a powerful one for me to connect with in the car & I hope it helps you too.  Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to subscribe & share this with someone, also leave a 5 Star rating on Apple Podcasts and ITunes or other services where you find this show.  Find me on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/coachtoexpectsuccess/   on Twitter / “X”:  @coachtosuccess   and on Instagram at:  @coachjohndaly  - My YouTu

  • Why Does Gratitude Matter - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Wed. 8-7-24 #1318

    07/08/2024 Duración: 08min

A bigtime post that I saw yesterday morning - needed to find that post too as I was once again, struggling a little bit.  I need to keep battling with this & Greg Berge (@gb1121) and his posts really do help.  One of his latest posts was this gem: ”Why does Gratitude Matter? - Gratitude kills worry. - Gratitude destroys fear. - Gratitude reduces stress. - Gratitude makes you happier. - Gratitude makes you healthier. - Gratitude builds your resilience. - Gratitude changes your state of mind. Be Grateful.”  As soon as I remembered this important lesson, I started to have a better outlook on my day.  It also reminds me that I need to keep looking for and connecting with great lessons like this, every single day!!  I need that constant attitude adjustment as I can’t just see something once, and then I don’t need anything else for a long time. I need it every single day!!  Also saw some news about a longtime friend, who just had a death in his family. Again, plenty of lessons of gratitude for my “problems” as

  • Every One Of Us - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Tue. 8-6-24 #1317

    06/08/2024 Duración: 04min

Couple things to connect here.  First of all, my longtime friend, Doug Evans posted this much needed reminder for me and for all of us: “Sending love to everyone who is trying to hear from the things they do not discuss.”  This covers all of us for sure as we are all dealing with something. Right now. Wherever we are at. We are dealing with something. The other part of this was a dental assistant that was helping my dentist with a procedure of taking care of putting in a new crown for me.  We talked a bit while we had to wait for some things, and she mentioned how hard her husband has been working as a firefighter.  He’s been doing it for 25 years or so. Almost died once and has been trapped & injured numerous times.  The tough times he’s been through and currently going through.  It was a great talk and she had to apologize to me for making me cry. I told her that it was no problem as to me, that shows what life is all about.  This helped me as I (once again) was going through some tough times with how I

  • Let Others Know - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Mon. 8-5-24 #1316

    05/08/2024 Duración: 04min

This is a headquarters that we all need to be connected with and that is Gratitude HQ (@gratefuledu64). I recently saw a great post from them which read: “Let’s let others know they are not alone, by going beyond words and taking the next step, spending time with those who feel lonely. Actions speak louder than words…and can make the greatest difference!”  There is a powerful quote which reminds us that one of the most important things we can do is to remind others that they are not alone.  In today’s world, this is needed more than ever.  Remember, when we help others, we are helping ourselves too.  Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to subscribe & share this with someone, also leave a 5 Star rating on Apple Podcasts and ITunes or other services where you find this show.  Find me on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/coachtoexpectsuccess/   on Twitter / “X”:  @coachtosuccess   and on Instagram at:  @coachjohndaly  - My YouTube Channel is at: Coach John Daly.   Email me at: CoachJohnDalyPod

  • Lessons From Coach Dan - Motivation Monday Game Plan - #1315

    05/08/2024 Duración: 08min

One of our beloved professional sports coaches is our own Dan Campbell, our Detroit Lions (NFL) head coach.  He always has some great lessons on life, leadership and of course football.  This lesson came from Greg Berge (@gb1121) and he shared this lesson from Coach Dan - …”belief comes from the work that you put in.”  “There are no other secrets to success. Success is about Grit. Success is about Work Ethic. Success is about Consistency.  “No Deposit - No Return.””  I know that sports has so many valuable life lessons.  So do our careers.  So do our relationships. So do stories. So does music.  The list goes on and on about where we can find life lessons, but sports is at the top of the list many times, in my opinion. Remember, we all have the ability to choose what success means to us. But it won’t usually come easy.  There has to be some grit, work ethic, and consistency.  We get to make the choices for these and the other things that will help us all throughout life.  Thanks for listening.  Please take a

  • Be A Good Person - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Fri. 8-2-24 #1314

    02/08/2024 Duración: 07min

Saw a great post with a reminder that we all need.  Heck, the world needs it. It’s rather simple too for all of us to look at doing things off of this short list.  I found it from Coach the Coaches (@WinningCoaches) ~ via @LewisCaralla.  It’s all about being a good person and it reminds us all to do some simple things that can make a difference.  Try these out and see how they fit. Email me at: CoachJohnDalyPodcast@gmail.com     You can also head on over to https://www.coachtoexpectsuccess.com/ and get in touch with me there on my homepage along with checking out my Top Book list too.  Other things there on my site are being wor

  • Go For This Pain - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Thur. 8-1-24 #1313

    01/08/2024 Duración: 06min

I stumbled across a legend in the personal development / self improvement world.  Jim Rohn mentioned this key to life - “Go for the pain of discipline because it weighs ounces. The pain of regret weighs tons.”  I’ve known about this quote, heck, I’ve shared this quote for so many years with my students. I am connected to it better at some moments in time, and others, I am sorry to say I have forgotten about it. Good thing I picked this up again and hopefully even better, I’m sharing it with you. Email me at: CoachJohnDalyPodcast@gmail.com     You can also head on over to https://www.coachtoexpectsuccess.com/ and get in touch wit

  • In The Rain - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Wed. 7-31-24 #1312

    31/07/2024 Duración: 07min

While doing some quick shopping yesterday, I got a little wet.  But you know what? It was all good.  I saw a quote that I connected with this. It reminded us “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass..it’s about learning to dance in the rain.” - Vivian Green.  I had a smile on my face in the rain in the parking lot. It was kind of fun as I put the groceries into the back of my car.  I got in and started thinking about that smile on my face and I was smiling even more knowing that I wasn’t ticked off about getting wet - like many times it’s happened before.  Got me thinking about being a kid and playing soccer in the rain.  Little adjustment in perspective for me and I know I need to keep having that different perspective in the “storms” of life. • 3 Internal Keys - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Tue. 7-30-24 #1311

    30/07/2024 Duración: 04min

I found a very thought provoking post about really 3 things that we have total control over.  It came from Sports Psychology (@SportPsychTips) and they shared this: “Motivation leads to discipline. Discipline leads to habits. Habits lead to success.” While I was having some coffee, I came across this reminder for me (and all of us) that our motivation, discipline and habits are all things we can (and should) control.  There are many times I struggle with one, two or all three of these and then I run into problems.  Remember this that I would always tell my students (also telling them that I needed this advice many days way more than they did), either we discipline ourselves or the world (someone) will do it for us. When we give up control of these 3 items, we usually don’t like the way life or others are doing it for us. Perfect timing once again for me seeing this, as I needed to make a little course adjustment this morning. Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to subscribe & share this with

  • The Smallest Step - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Mon. 7-28-24 #1310

    29/07/2024 Duración: 07min

Found another powerful and life-changing thought here form Melanie Korach (@melanie_korach). Part of her message “Think about this. Even the smallest step you take today can influence your path tomorrow. You don’t need to get out there and make a lot of noise. Sometimes all you need to do is quietly take a step in the right direction to blaze a trail that changes your life.” Two keys to this. First, small steps matter. They add up. They still move you forward. They lead to more self confidence for sure.  The second point - it’s not about how much noise you make in taking your steps in life.  There is way too much noise out there in the world that is not only distracting, but if we let it, it can cause us so many problems in our lives and the lives of those we love. One thing for sure, the distractions and noise, are not worth taking on. I’m working hard to remember this every single day. Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to subscribe & share this with someone, also leave a 5 Star rating on

  • Wasted Energy - Motivation Monday Game Plan - #1309

    29/07/2024 Duración: 06min

Found another gem to share with you.  Alan Stein, Jr. scores again!! (@AlanSteinJr) shares this powerful reminder “Any energy you waste on something in the past means you don't have that energy to invest in the present moment where you can still make a difference.”  This is becoming not only more clear to me, the times I do waste energy on things that I can’t control, past mistakes, past misunderstandings with others, etc. I’m catching these moments sooner than I used to and that helps me to make the intentional change to not waste the energy on something that already happened.  I’m working on staying in the moment and seeing what I can do at that time for something good to happen.  So many good things can happen with focusing in on this, which means a better today that will lead to better tomorrows. This of course creates better yesterdays and that helps us in the future for the simple & powerful reason that our pasts are indeed our best mentor.  Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to s

  • Trees Stand Tall - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Fri. 7-26-24 #1308

    26/07/2024 Duración: 04min

I came across a well timed posting from Psyche Wizard (@PsycheWizard), where it helped me to remember to stand tall like trees do.  It said:  “There’s a Japanese legend that says, If you feel like you’re losing everything, remember, trees lose their leaves every year, yet they still stand tall and wait for better days to come.”  There are plenty of times where I’m feeling like I’m losing many things, feeling down, getting a bit depressed, even feeling sorry for myself.  I was reminded of what my dad would say plenty of times… “this too shall pass” along with “the sun will come out tomorrow.”  I know we all have times where this reminder will help us.  Keep standing tall!!  Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to subscribe & share this with someone, also leave a 5 Star rating on Apple Podcasts and ITunes or other services where you find this show.  Find me on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/coachtoexpectsuccess/   on Twitter / “X”:  @coachtosuccess   and on Instagram at:  @coachjohndaly  -

  • Make Time - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Thur. 7-25-24 #1307

    25/07/2024 Duración: 03min

Saw a great post from one of my favorites, Alan Stein Jr. (@AlanSteinJr) who reminds us that “You will never find the time for anything. If it is important, you will make the time for it.”  I’ve been reminded about this a few times recently, one of those times was from notes I took where John O’Leary reminded us about the same truth.  I’ve been so non-intentional so many times in my life and I have nobody to blame for that other than myself.  I do know there is a HUGE difference to have more “intentional focus” on things that are important in my life.  How I have spent my time throughout my life has mainly been my choices and decisions. I have time every single day (hopefully), where it’s up to me on how I spend much of it and where it goes.  The key is that it’s the same for you. For everyone.  So many great things like this that I want to & need to, make part of my life by choosing to create new habits that accompany these success traits. This is why there will always be something to get for, every sing

  • Tasks For The Day - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Wed. 7-24-24 #1306

    24/07/2024 Duración: 07min

Saw another fabulous post from my friend & mentor, Coach Rich Popp (@Coach4254).  He shared this thought and I thought it was worth sharing for sure: “Tasks for the day: 1. Be kind to others 2. Smile all day as you recognize your blessings 3. Always be thankful for your life. Billions, yes billions dream to live a life like yours. Peace”First of all, he’s right on target with these 3 points and I also love the fact how he always reminds us about connecting with having more Peace in our lives. I see examples in everyday media and in person, where these three points can really help us navigate our way to being better.  Everyone can benefit from becoming better.  Thanks Coach Popp!  Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to subscribe & share this with someone, also leave a 5 Star rating on Apple Podcasts and ITunes or other services where you find this show.  Find me on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/coachtoexpectsuccess/   on Twitter / “X”:  @coachtosuccess   and on Instagram at:  @coachj

  • Lock In - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Tue. 7-23-24 #1305

    23/07/2024 Duración: 08min

I have realized … again… that I need these positive & powerful reminders every single stinking day!!  They are little nudges in the right direction that I need to choose to make a part of my everyday input.  Ben Newman (@ContinuedFight), check out Ben’s website HERE.  He posted this into our group (The Mental Toughness Academy) where he reminded us saying… “Why not YOU? • Nudging In The Right Direction - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Mon. 7-22-24 #1304

    22/07/2024 Duración: 06min

Found a great post from Kevin DeShazo (@KevinDeShazo) and he shared this great thought from the incredible Jim Rohn and it’s all about nudging ourselves in the right direction.  It reminds us about having determination and discipline so that we can change for the better, instead of wishing or hoping that hard things will get easier.  Powerful stuff to stay plugged into. Email me at: CoachJohnDalyPodcast@gmail.com     You can also head on over to https://www.coachtoexpectsuccess.com/ and get in touch with me there on my homepage along with checking out my Top Book list too.  Other things there on my site are being worked on too.

    22/07/2024 Duración: 07min

This was one that hit my heart and emotions hard and I for sure wanted to share it with you.  It’s all about gratitude and this gave me a new way to connect with the fact that I need to have this every single day! Inky Johnson (@inkyjohnson)  There are so many powerful reasons to have gratitude in our lives, especially if we can have it every day.  This clip was inspiring. It was emotional for me. This comes from a wonderful group that I’m blessed to be a part of with Ben Newman.  He’s the host of his “Burn Podcast” along with running things with the “Mental Toughness Academy”, along with so many other things that he has going for himself. He shares some thoughts about… “The FIRE

  • Feeling Tired? - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Thur. 7-17-24 #1301

    18/07/2024 Duración: 08min

Saw this great thought from “TeacherGoals” (@teachergoals) and I know it’s totally true because I have lived both sides of this.  The post said “You often feel tired, not because you’ve done too much, but because you’ve done too little of what sparks a light in you.”  WOW… how true is this???  It’s right on target.  I know I need to (and have been doing a bit more in this area lately) keep doing things that fill my tank, light the spark inside of me, put a smile on my face and my heart, etc. Sure there are things we all have to do that do the opposite and we don’t like to do - but we know we have to do those certain things.  But why do I want to keep doing extra things that drown out my spark & spirit in my life?  Powerful reflection here my friends.  Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to subscribe & share this with someone, also leave a 5 Star rating on Apple Podcasts and ITunes or other services where you find this show.  Find me on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/coachtoexpectsucc

  • Be That One - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Wed. 7-17-24 #1300

    17/07/2024 Duración: 07min

I found another thought-provoking & heart-connecting post, this one from Gratitude HQ (@gratefuledu64). It helps to remind all of us that we can be “that one” for so many people, moments, ourselves and things in our lives.  One of the powerful items on this list reminds us about the simple act of smiling and how it can connect with others.  I’m trying to do this one a bit more wherever I go for sure.  The others on this list will help all of us in so many ways.
