    20/05/2024 Duración: 47min

Ed Wozniakwicz has been an athletic trainer for just about 10 years. In this episode we sit down and talk with Ed on what he has learned over the past 10 years and what information he would want to pass down to young professionals if he were able to go back and have the information he does now. This was a unique episode because the host, Joel, is at the same point in his career and the comparisons of what has been learned was unique. Katie also talks about best practices to help identify and address burnout before it hopefully gets too far. The discussion on acrobatics is also fascinating as a new sport. Katie defines what it is and how the athletic trainers who work with these athletes continue to work together to figure out best practices to care for this athlete population. A lot of great insight in

  • REPLAY: Ep. 47: Race in Athletic Training-A Roundtable Discussion

    17/04/2024 Duración: 01h34min

Racism is wrong. Hate can’t be accepted. Just not being “racist” is not enough to propel change. In order to help create change, we have to listen, work to comprehend and accept the fact that those in privileged positions can never understand what diverse people go through. ATChat hasn’t put a statement out because we needed to listen and learn from people that experience racism on potentially daily basis. We denounce any form or racism or hate, not only within the athletic training community but in the world in general. We will do more to help be part of the change that is needed to increase equality and work with our diverse professionals to succeed and feel safe while doing so. This roundtable discussion on Race in Athletic Training is a starting point and we can’t think Krystal, Ryan, Mercedes, Andrew, Brandon, Susan, Mike and Austin for being a part of the conversation and education. We held this roundtable to listen, learn, and find opportunities to try and make things better. #blacklivesmatter, ra
