    Dr. Breitbach has done a lot in his career and worked in many different settings prior to moving into academics. From there he has been a program director and now works as a vice dean and professor and his research focuses on interprofessional education and collaborative practice. Dr. Breitbach has been deeply involved with this area of research and education through the courses he teaches at Saint Louis University. In this episode we discuss what interprofessional education and collaborative practice are and how they can be applied to athletic training and building a healthcare team. As we have seen in my instances, a team is what can make a difference and help provide the highest level of care to the patients they serve.     Dr. Stamm is an athletic trainer, neuroscientist and concussion researcher. She recently wrote a book on how concussions and repetitive impacts can affect the brain of the developing of young children. This is obviously a big deal and it has become even more of a discussion with some of the high profile injuries that have occurred in the NFL. In this episode we talk about what has been happening with these injuries and a lot of the details around them and what it all means. We discuss the fencing response, second impact syndrome, and the ability for patients to make informed decisions after suffering a traumatic brain injury.     Caitlin is a secondary school athletic trainer and also a NREMT. She works in a location where there are several different hospital systems and a variety of places people can go to receive care. Due to this, collaboration with many different professionals is key to helping patients get back to what they are working towards. He also discusses the process he goes through to audit the CEUs on a semi-annual basis to ensure that everything stays up to date.
