  • Life's About ... - Podcast #303

    23/08/2019 Duración: 11min

Life’s about so many thing…. So many lessons come at us throughout life.  Many came to me from the last week or so on vacation and getting back home to the swing of things for work.  Always lessons being thrown at me and you too.  Chasing after passions in life, hanging out with people you love and care for, meeting new people and hearing new stories – and the list goes on and on about what life is all about.  After a fantastic trip "Up North", it hit me!  It’s up to us to make our lives what we want them to be.  We also need to realize we need to work on it every day too.  It’s not up to anyone else to do this for us – to set up our ideal life – it’s up to us!  I’ve had a lot of reminders lately as to what is important and why I need to start refocusing my life in those areas that bring me joy and fulfillment.  How about you?     Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to subscribe & share this with someone, also leave a 5 Star rating on ITunes or other services where you find this sho

  • The Sting - Podcast #302

    20/08/2019 Duración: 18min

The power of reading great books can be life-changing for sure.  "Lead With No Apologies" by Jesse A. Cole, Jr. is one of those books.    Find the book here:  https://www.amazon.com/Lead-No-Apologies-Boost-Influence/dp/1793989133/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Lead+With+No+Apologies&qid=1565803754&s=books&sr=1-1    One of the main points I shared today was about having an important conversations with your future self.  Sounds a little bit strange, I know.  But, it's a really powerful concept to try and wrap your head around too.   I know as I have this important conversation with my future self, many of them in fact - I know it's leading me in a fantastic direction for my life.  I hope it can for you too.  Check out more from Jesse Cole at:  https://www.kingdommogulcoaching.com/    Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to subscribe & share this with someone, also leave a 5 Star rating on ITunes or other services where you find this show.  Find me on Facebook:  https://www.f

  • Don't Forget Where You Came From - Podcast #301

    17/08/2019 Duración: 18min

Amazing time recently at a high school reunion golf outing - raising money for my high school class of 1984 at Catholic Central High School for a memorial scholarship fund.  Got me thinking about how fast time is going by along with the fact that we have lost 15 of our graduation class already.  Life happens to everyone, but when it's someone you grew up with, it hits a little closer to home for sure.  So not only do I think we can't forget where we came from - for it helped shape us into who we are today - but I think it keeps us going in a direction to keep learning from our past.  We may not like where we grew up or where we went to school, but it helped to shape who we are today.  I am trying to focus in on my purpose for being here in life along with the fact that I can only control my effort & attitude.  I need to create a better past for myself by living today as best as I can.  How about you?  Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to subscribe & share this with someone, al

Another amazing event that we had this past weekend that came with more life lessons that made a big impact on me.  We went to a fantastic wedding - BIG SHOUT OUT to Kelsey & Cody!!   Amazing time with so many awesome people.  There were so many of my former students there in attendance - besides the bride & groom being former students too.    It reminded me as to how much gratitude I have for these "kids" - I guess they will always be my kids eventhough they are all playing the adult game of life & playing it really well.  Combined with some items from Brian Buffini's book again - "The Emigrant Edge", all about gratitude.  It should be a core value of our lives as it affects really all that we do.  Another BIG SHOUT OUT to Dr. Jeff Lip and his latest guest, Denyse from Canada.  I think it was his best show that he has evver done - please check that out (and all of his shows) at www.jefflip.com    I hope that after you listen to this show - that you take a more examined lo

Fantastic start to my day today getting to sit down with Caitlyn Harwood - a recent high school graduate who now is taking on the next chapter in her life with going to college.  Caitlyn and I got to work with each other in a couple of classes and I learned on what an awesome young lady she is.  I (along with other staff members that I work with)  think the world of her and I am so excited for her going off to play college soccer and get her college degree too.  Sit back and enjoy the conversation that I had the pleasure of having with her and I'm sure there are some lessons that you can take with you.  We are not all heading off to college - but these lessons she shares are lessons that we can implement right now into our lives.  I love the fact Caitlyn had the confidence to come and share her story for it will help others that listen to this show.   Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to subscribe & share this with someone, also leave a 5 Star rating on ITunes or other services where y

  • Be Open To Learn & Improve - Podcast #295

    30/07/2019 Duración: 14min

Just got done with a fantastic book by Brian Buffini - "The Emigrant Edge"   https://www.amazon.com/s?k=the+emigrant+edge&i=stripbooks&crid=8ATLLUBUSONN&sprefix=The+Emigrant%2Cstripbooks%2C252&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_5_12    Go out and get this book - it's a HUGE difference maker.  One of the many lessons he has in this book is having a Voracious Openness To Learn.   Three areas are key - our Intake, our Associations, and our Affirmations.   Just look at improving one of these and I think things will begin to change in your life.  I know they did for me once I start focusing in on these and other areas in my life.    The other thing would be to listen to his podcast too.  Find it here on his site:  https://www.thebrianbuffinishow.com/episodes/    This would be one thing to add to the list of things you "Intake" into your head & heart for sure!    Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to subscribe & share this with someone, also leave a 5 Star rating on ITunes

  • Bumps In The Road - Got To Get Through Them - Podcast #293

    22/07/2019 Duración: 22min

Caught a bug here in July - getting sick in summer is never fun, but I thought about it today - I not only have to take care of myself to get better, but I also need to keep working on things that I know I have to do.   Got some reading done this morning along with listening to a couple of podcasts - those things along with a couple of other things from the last few days inspired me to do today's show.   There has never been a better time to be Extraordinary - in whatever it is we want to do!!    This message was picked up when I was listening to Brian Buffini's podcasts recently - Check out his shows here:  https://www.thebrianbuffinishow.com/episodes/    One of the other big points I brought up today was I am really taking to heart the thought about how my ancestors would do with the opportunities that I have today.  Think about that - let that simmer a little bit.  These two points should be enough to get you excited about doing whatever it is that you want to do in life.   Thanks for listening.

    17/07/2019 Duración: 48min

One of the best days that I've had in a while as far as fun activities with other people just happened on Saturday, July 13.  Both of them involved the one and only Dr. Jeff Lip (find him always at www.jefflip.com)   First we got together and played some golf for a fantastic cause, raising money for the Austin Lipscomb Memorial Scholarship Fund.   We had a lot of fun and according to Craig, Austin's dad and a good friend of mine - they raised record amounts of $$ for the fund.  To cap off the day we had a wedding to go to that involved two more coworkers.  Donna & Rich found each other later in life and boy was it great to watch this wedding.  The happiness, joy, love and emotion were all over the place.  My wife and I had so much fun and yet again - we got to share it with Jeff Lip again.  Sit back and enjoy the lessons and the stories that go a long with this one as Jeff's day was a bit longer than mine.  :-)    Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to subscribe & share thi

  • Humor & Gratitude - So Important In Life - Podcast #288

    10/07/2019 Duración: 15min

Amazing time I had a few weeks ago with two great friends, Paul & Craig, along with a few more thousand people where we all got to watch David Feherty at the Fox Theater in Detroit, Michigan.  I can't ever remember a time where I laughed so much for a straight 2 hours and 15 minutes.  This guy put on a fantastic show!  The key was that he centers his shows on laughter and gratitude.  You want to know something?  That are two important keys for "our show" - our life!  So many examples of being able to laugh not only at ourselves (which is a must) along with all the crazy things that life throws our way.  David is so grateful for his life and what he has going on - it's a fantastic story.  We have a fantastic story going on as well and the best part is that we are the writer, producer, and even the star performer in it too!   Sit back and enjoy this conversation on gratitude, joy, overcoming things, and yes - finding laughter to be a center part too.  A side note came out of this too - t

    03/07/2019 Duración: 49min

What a fun way to start my day - having a conversation with the one and only Dr. Jeff Lip.  Jeff just got back from a trip to the state of Washington with a couple of his best friends and it sounds like a fun time.  Even with Jeff having to get into a wet suit for a white-water rafting trip, that as you will hear, was not a choice he would have made on his own.   But, as much as we say relationships are so important in life - that is why Jeff did what he had to do.   I love sitting and talking with Jeff in so many ways.  He never knows what I'm going to throw at him and he handles every curve-ball I throw at him with the grace & power of an MLB All-Star!  Sit back and enjoy the conversation that has some points from this great article I found on building your Mental Strength:   https://www.success.com/10-ways-to-build-your-mental-strength/?fbclid=IwAR2Yg3KNW7yZbflvG3Bm-zhs3xSoxnnAQZrZp_pjfE3raQKtvB_zdKU78rY   Along with another of many life-changing podcasts from John O'Leary as he interviews Mo
