Motivation Monday Game Plan - The Myth About Being #1
11/05/2020 Duración: 07minThere is a myth that seems to stop people in their tracks when it comes to Leadership. The key is to remember it's not All or Nothing! You don't have to be #1 in your organization to have an effect of change on others. Like Morrie Schwartz says in "Tuesdays With Morrie" - Mitch Albom's bestselling book about his college professor - "What's wrong with being #2?" The key is that anyone can make a difference with others, any time, any place. It's not just saved for CEO's to do that. Another key is that the only competition that we need to get better than is ourselves. Again, The Man in the Mirror idea comes back to remind us, that we just need to keep moving forward and improve on our own leadership skills. This is a powerful reminder for this week and every day. Hanging With Some Powerful Difference Makers - Podcast #400
09/05/2020 Duración: 53minWhere has the time gone?? This is podcast #400 for me and to tell the truth, I'm really proud of myself as I've stuck with this and I'm more fired up about it now than ever before! To celebrate show #400, I wanted to put together this monumental show highlighting a fabulous group of Difference Makers that I'm just blessed to be a part of. Joining me today is the world-famous trio of Tricia Miller, Dr. Jeff Lip and Denyse Kovac. Jeff and I have been connected for a while now and thanks to him I got connected with Tricia who's a rock star counselor down in Texas. Denyse is a superstar from Canada who reached out to me after she heard my podcast and we've been chatting back and forth a bit and she's been a fantastic guest on Jeff's podcast too. The four of us sat down to share some thoughts about how we can all look to improve during this world crisis of the COVID-19 Virus. Gary V put out a text that said, "Now is the time to learn "stuff" and do &qu

Attitude - It Means Everything - Podcast #399
06/05/2020 Duración: 12minAttitude is everything is what the saying is & I'm finding it's totally true. I found something from John Maxwell again on the importance of our attitude and how it's something that is really a full-time job to work on it. It connects our past to our present, which connects to our future. I love the reminder that it's our best friend or worst enemy. The biggest thing is that we totally control it. In today's world with the Covid-19 virus affecting everything it seems; our attitude is something that we (I know I do for sure) need to improve upon every day. We need to have the mindset of coming out better from this world-wide scary reality. So many areas to work on for sure - but our attitude can produce the biggest results if we look to improve it during this time. In fact we don't ever want to stop working on it. Once you stop working on your attitude and working on yourself, I think you just let the external factors take over and they affect everything you do in

Motivation Monday Game Plan - Courage, We All Need It -Podcast #398
04/05/2020 Duración: 05minWhat a powerful reminder to start out the week on how important Courage is. It's something all of us need in our lives - especially it seems during these uncertain times and worries. "You must do the thing you think you cannot do" - those words from Eleanor Roosevelt remind us that we all have things we think we can't do, but deep down inside, we know we must at least try. Every time we try, every time we overcome fear, we set the table for our future of doing greater things and opening up doors we never saw coming. This week - heck, even today - try to work through something that you think you cannot do. I know I have plenty to choose from too. Make it a fantastic week. Thanks for listening. Coach Dave Ruekert & The Coffee Bean - Podcast #397
30/04/2020 Duración: 38minI always start my day with a cup of coffee - or a couple, but today I got to start with an inspirational talk with the one and only Coach Dave Ruekert and the book, "The Coffee Bean" This fantastic and life-changing story written by Jon Gordon and Damon West, was sent to me by Coach Ruekert. It made such an impact on me that not only did I have to get my own copy of it, but I shared that one with our girls basketball team so they could take in the lessons from this hard hitting book. Coach and I had a great discussion about a few of the points from this book, we had a lot of fun doing it and we look forward to having another talk soon on some of the other points from the book. If you are looking for a book to read - go out and order this one. It's a quick read and you'll love the story. :-) Thanks for listening. Motivation Monday Game Plan - Get Out Of Your Cage - Podcast #396
27/04/2020 Duración: 04minI am starting to read this fabulous book, "Raise Your Game" by Alan Stein Jr. and there is a powerful reminder for this week for all of us to work on. He talks about our comfort zone being like our cage & we have to bust out of it. I for one have never really liked obstacles or tough times. Now (it's about time too) I am seeing the value in those obstacles when they do come at us & they always come at ALL of us throughout life. Successful people - in all areas of life - find the obstacles as fuel for doing great things. They are learning opportunities to learn some valuable information so we can get better. It's all about getting comfortable with getting uncomfortable. Try that this week - find the value of learning something from what an obstacle might throw at you at first. I would love to hear how you handle this. Thanks for listening. Thanks for listening. Please take a few moments to subscribe & share this with someone, also leave a 5 Star rating on Apple Podc

Change Always Happens, But Growth Is A Choice - Podcast #394
24/04/2020 Duración: 13minfor this mindset to get out there. Change is happening all the time in our lives. The weather, grass growing, daytime turns into night, etc. Growth on the other hand is really a choice & it's one that we have more control over than you think. Especially with times like this that are in the middle of, we have some time to reflect more and invest more in our own growth! One of my big things that is on my heart and mind is that I need to come out of this Stay At Home Order a lot better off than I was before this all started. I know there are skills that I have to get better at. That's been my plan with reading more, listening to podcasts more (which I am behind in), learning new ways of doing things online, editing videos and audios better, picking up new social media skills, improving my relationships with my wife and kids, working on my spiritual well-being, and the list goes on and on and on. We all can make better choices to GROW and become better. Who doesn't want to be better?

Motivation Monday Game Plan - The Only One That Could Stop Me, Was Me - Podcast #393
20/04/2020 Duración: 04minPowerful book I just started to read - "Raise Your Game" by Alan Stein Jr., and right off the bat in the Forward of the book by Jay Bilas - he hit me hard with a powerful reminder. The only one that could stop me, was me! That's true for all of us - we are truly the only one that can get in the way of ourselves. One reminder that Gary V, mentions in this book also was that we can't BS ourselves. If we do that, we lose! So, do yourself a favor - look in the mirror today and start figuring out the way of getting out of your own way of doing great things. Find a way to stop BS"ing" yourself. It was a needed reminder for myself as I've gotten good at getting in my own way and I tell myself a lot BS in excuses, etc., that have stopped me for years and years. I need to Raise My Game for sure - how about you? Do something this week to advance yourself in the direction you want to go! Thanks for listening. A Morning Meeting With Coach Dave Ruekert - Podcast #391
16/04/2020 Duración: 35minThe long-anticipated meeting with Coach Dave Ruekert finally got done. This guy has been busy with so many things on his plate, I have had my plate full for a while too - so between us we carved up a little time this morning to get connected and have a wonderful conversation. I was blessed to start my day with a great cup of coffee and an even better talk with Coach Dave to get my day started in a fantastic direction. He was a little concerned as to his 2 young kids waking up early and I was concerned with my furry "kid", our dog interrupting things. When we get just about at the end of the show, you will find out which one of us had to deal with the little one that decided to make his presence known on the show. Dave brought so much warmth and positivity to this show today, I know you will walk away from this podcast wanting more conversations with Coach R, and that will happen soon enough. One of the many great things happening to me on this journey of starting my podcast, is the fact that

Motivation Monday Game Plan - Look In The Mirror - Podcast #390
13/04/2020 Duración: 04minAs I start out a new week - putting this out a few hours later than normal - I a reminded about a couple of things. First, as I woke up this morning, I saw my competition & he was staring back at me in the mirror this morning as he does every morning. I am the only one that I need to work hard on to improve. I can't worry about others and what they are doing or not doing. In looking at myself again, it occurred to me that I know I have to do something today and every day that I view as risky - I need to start going after it as it might just be the one thing that changes my entire life. I have told myself that there are things I know I want to do and need to do with this "extra" time that I have being at home. That extra time has been what I've said for years that I don't have and that's the reason that I wasn't doing these things. Well now I have some time and it's time to look at that guy in the mirror and work with him to get these things done. What is tha

It's all about how to live longer, happier, and healthier with the groundbreaking science of kindness. This came from me listening to John O'Leary's podcast where he interviewed Dr. Kelli Harding. Self Improvement Needs To Be On Your To-Do List - Podcast #388
09/04/2020 Duración: 08minAnother thing on our to-do list with what's going on in the world today, needs to be focusing in on improving yourself! John Maxwell does such a good job describing the importance of doing things to improve ourselves, our live, our options in life and everything that goes with our lives. We need to be willing to change as it just doesn't happen by chance. I don't know about you, but I'm working to try and come out of this pandemic that we are all dealing with, better than I was before it all happened. The good thing about this goal is that I have many things to choose to improve, maybe you have a couple things as well. Thanks for listening. Motivation Monday Game Plan - Ordinary People Do Extraordinary Things - Podcast #387
06/04/2020 Duración: 05minStarting off this week with hopefully something we can all use - a few thoughts that can give us hope for what we have to face this week and every day for that matter. John Maxwell reminds us that every genius could have been some type of failure & they all were "failures" at one point and time. This is a great reminder that there is hope for all of us to do great things, little and small & for us to keep hanging in there with what we must do. Thanks for listening. Invest In Others & Yourself - Podcast #386
04/04/2020 Duración: 11minSo much time now with being at home like so many other people, I got to thinking about a few things. From all of this severity of COVID-19, one thing for sure is that we need to come out of better than we were before. Like Mitch Albom mentioned, this crisis will be defined by how we react to it. During my time at home I've been reminded by a few students and their posts on their blogs or responses on their assignments - it really comes down to action steps we must take to become better through all of this. One thing for sure, I hope you all agree that we don't want to become worse for going through all of this. No way, No how do I want that to happen. I highlighted John Maxwell again in this show & his Daily Reader - "Help Someone Who Doubts To Have Faith in Himself / Herself Today! That also includes us. Find ways to become better, find ways to help others, so that when this crisis passes, we can look at a ton of great things that came from it. Thanks for listening. Please ta

In A Rush To Return To Normal? - Podcast #385
02/04/2020 Duración: 07minGot a great pick-me-up that was posted by a really good friend of mine that I've known her and her family for more than 45 years. Renee really got me thinking about this statement "In the rush to return to normal, use this time to consider which parts of normal are worth rushing back to." WOW!! I know for a fact that my new normal won't be the same as my old view of what normal is. I'm not quite sure how any of ours could be the same after all that has happened and continues to happen. I don't want it to be the same as I see plenty of things that I have neglected, forgot about, put off doing, etc. As horrible as this is for so many people, I need to come out of this a much better version of myself. What about you? Would love to hear your thoughts & ideas about this. Thanks for listening. Motivation Monday Game Plan - Errors Become Mistakes - Podcast #384
30/03/2020 Duración: 03minQuick hitting thoughts to start out this week - in the rolling studio (my car) and this helps us to minimize errors becoming mistakes which could become failures if we keep responding to them incorrectly. If you are like me, there are more than one of these to choose on to look at fixing. Nothing like the present to try and do that. Start your week of in a great direction looking to do that.
