Fired up reminder this morning as I read my "Daily Reader" from John Maxwell - it's the "All-or-Nothing" Myth about Leadership.  You don't have to have a title to be a leader.  All of us can lead, every single day -- first off, by leading ourselves.  We become better when we make a difference for others.  Powerful reminders here about what Leadership is really all about.

Some thoughts from John Maxwell all about Leadership and it's connection to others. So many things in life rise and fall on Leadership.  That's why it's so important for us to keep investing in ourselves and in each other.... we are all connected by relationships & our motivation is helped by that for sure.

What a great ride into school today - the sunrise was awesome... my partners in driving, first was a few minutes with Ed Mylett and then John O'Leary came up from the back seat to the front seat and started sharing a story with Caroline Gaynor - and what a story it's starting out to be!  We need to have more examples of being an Enthusiastic difference maker in life.  Amazing stuff to share with you today... with a side of emotions too.  ;-)  Click HERE to hear John O'Leary's podcast.

Got to thinking about this reminder, first thing this morning as I got up. Awesome ride in with my co-pilots this morning - John O'Leary was up first and then Gary Vee... Great ride in today with my mentor, coach and friend - Sam Crowley.  He mentioned something that really connected with me - Pile up the little wins, instead of piling up more excuses.  Listen to this podcast episode HERE. As time goes by - we will know which of the two we put our efforts into. As we chase after building our best life, going after our purpose in life - we can do little things every single day that will help us months from now, or those things will cause us more frustration, trouble, problems, negativity, etc.  What a great reminder we all need. :-)

Saw a great couple of reminders yesterday (on video) and today (in person) that reminded me that ALL OF OUR PURPOSES in life should be having KINDNESS be a part of that purpose.  This is a different look at the word purpose... but I like it... hope you do too.

Took some great notes from a guest speaker in my Leadership class yesterday.  Mark Hackel - Macomb County Executive & a good friend for more than 31 years - he reminded me about the importance of finding and connecting with our purpose / passion in life.  He also brought up the question about our "dash".  On our headstones when we die - there is our date of birth, the date of our death..... and in the middle is one simple character = The Dash.  It's always a good idea to try and reflect on that often, so we can make some course adjustments about how we are spending, wasting, or investing our time.  Check out the Dash Poem HERE.   I need to connect this to more of my days for sure.

Heard another great podcast on my way in this morning & I had to share a couple of things from it.   Ben Newman and his "Burn Podcast" - Find this episode with his guest Nick Santonastasso HERE.Some powerful lessons about having this "never ending mindset".  Just the mindset of never stopping to learn and improve.  Never stopping to be a lifelong learner so that we can be our best and that means we will have more wins in our life along with being able to help others more.   I know I need to do this more for sure.
