18/02/2018 Duración: 23minThe Unogwaja Challenge is a 1700 kilometre bike ride from Cape Town to Pietermaritzburg followed by the Comrades Ultra Marathon – a gruelling 89 kilometre race from Pietermaritzburg to Durban that must be completed in under 12 hours. 100NO 254: Going Grey At 40 & Proud Of It With Karly Nimmo
11/02/2018 Duración: 22minKarly Nimmo is going grey. She’s had enough of the rinse, enough of the regular trips to the hairdresser, enough of the time and financial cost of holding on to a more youthful look. Not only is Nimmo going grey, she’s documenting it on Instagram. She may call it ungracefully grey, we like to think it’s very graceful. With a courage not many choose to unfurl, Nimmo is sharing the ups and downs of this stage of her life. This is not a joke. This is a full-blown acceptance of the passage of time. A fellow podcaster – you’ll find Karly hosting Karlosophies and Keeping Good Company – Karly is also a professional voice-over artist, business and life mentor. BYRON BAY EVENT ALERT | Marcus & Karly are joining up with internationally-acclaimed author Bronnie Ware (featured on episodes 39 and 213 of 100 Not Out) and Chara Caruthers to present One Day In Byron Bay. If you find yourself saying “One Day I’ll Do This or That”, this event is that day to develop the courage, clarity, connection and choice to make yo

100NO 251: 8 Tips For When You Feel Sick On Holiday
21/01/2018 Duración: 27minDamian is just back from a trip to Cambodia with his wife, Amber, and they both had a bout of illness during the trip. Without his trusty cabinet of herbs, probiotics and tinctures, what did Damo do to bring himself back to health? After talking it out, there were 8 specific actions Damo took in order to best deal with his challenge whilst on holiday. But it wasn’t just what he did (or didn’t do). It was his philosophy around feeling ill on holiday that is the game-changer. Whilst many people find it incredibly frustrating and almost go into a victim-like story around feeling ill on holiday, Damo chose to welcome it. Why? All is explained in yet another fascinating episode of 100 Not Out! For even more 100 Not Out action, check out our 2018 Longevity Experience on the Greek Island of Ikaria, 80% less dementia, 50% less heart disease and 20% less cancer is just one of the reasons why Ikaria is known as the island where people forget to die. 100NO 250: The Art Of Forgiveness, Dealing With Challenge & Cultivating Optimism
14/01/2018 Duración: 24minIt seems that the longest-lived people with the most fulfilment in life are those that forgive easily. Dig deeper and it’s the very same people who have had experiences in their life that seem very difficult to find peace or grace with. The longest-lived, most-fulfilled people have truly used life as one long personal growth seminar. They have faced challenges and still come out the other end brimming with optimism. So how can YOU do the same thing? Do you have to wait until you are older in order to be at peace with your life? Absolutely not. This episode discusses how people forgive, how long-lived people deal with challenge, and how they cultivate optimism. If you can master the art of forgiveness, and cultivate fulfilling optimism in your life, you are well on your way to living the 100 Not Out Lifestyle. Want more? Join us on the Greek Island of Ikaria – the Blue Zone known as the “island where people forget to die” – for our 100 Not Out Mediterranean Longevity Experience – June 25 to July 4, 2018. All i

100NO 249: 7 Reasons Women Live Longer Than Men
07/01/2018 Duración: 28minMarcus recently came across this BBC article, discussing some of the suggested reasons women live longer than men. Across any country, and across any period of time, women have tended to outlast their male counterparts by an average of 3 years. The reasons listed below and in this podcast are not our views, they are simply a summary of the BBC article. In this episode, we discuss the merits of each reason, the ones we like and agree with, and the ones we don’t (like being taller). Is 2018 the year you join us on the Greek Island of Ikaria for our 100 Not Out Longevity Experience? Check out our highlights video from 2016 here. Some excerpts from the BBC article appear below. Idea #1 – Men work harder Men work harder (physically) – the view is that the gap may begin to change with both men and women largely doing sedentary work. In fact, the difference in lifespan has remained stable even throughout monumental shifts in society. Consider Sweden, which offers the most reliable historic records. In 1800, life ex

100NO 246: Toxic Media Consumption & Has Research Gone Too Far?
17/12/2017 Duración: 27minDo you ever feel like every element of life is researched to within an inch of its life, costing trillions of dollars to taxpayers around the globe, and for what? Well, Damian for one has had enough and shares his thoughts on this episode. The topic of the media – and hanging on to idealistic beliefs around their role in society – also dominates the conversation. Are You Making This Big Career Mistake?
30/10/2017 Duración: 30minOn this episode, we discuss the easily-lost element of any successful career – a successful apprenticeship. Behind every apprenticeship is a student willing to learn and a mentor willing to teach. Unfortunately, many aspiring entrepreneurs, business owners and employees are not willing to take advice or mentorship and that’s you are making your biggest Career Mistake. And on the flipside, many people consider themselves too busy to provide mentoring. This episode proposes that we all consider what apprenticeships we have done in our life, and if the apprenticeship has NOT happened, to go out there and enjoy being the apprentice. And, just as has been written in Mastery by Robert Greene, it’s the great apprentices that go on to become the Masters. Dr BJ Rushton on Love, His 9 Children, Richard Wilkins, Hard Work & Attitude

How do you do it?” Listen in as Barry shares what he’s learnt in 66 years on this planet, and why he and wife Karen enrolled for the 100 Not Out Longevity Experience on the Greek Island of Ikaria in 2018. 100NO 236: The Longevity Killer – How To Fix Obesity (& It’s Not A Sugar Tax)
08/10/2017 Duración: 26minThe idea of a sugar tax has hit Australia, following in the footsteps of countries including Great Britain, Fiji, Belgium, France and parts of the USA. But is a Sugar tax the answer to our obesity problem here in Australia? You know where we are going with this. Of course not! If a tax on cigarettes has done little to stop people smoking, the $8.6 billion obesity epidemic is hardly going to be rescued by charging more for sugary foods. In this episode, we discuss our own solutions to the issue, including a shift in philosophy around food pricing, and a shakeup of the health system, just to name two. You may also hear some singing and jokes as always in this episode
