100NO 356: Four ways to become a better friend
27/01/2020 Duración: 28minWhat it takes to be considered a close friend is perhaps harder to attain than what you think (at least that was the case for us). But it’s not all that surprising. On the back of Marcus finishing a section of the book, we discuss four key components of being a great friend. The amount of quality time, ability to talk about the tough parts of life, and giving help rather than asking for permission to do so, are all key components, all of which get discussed on this episode of 100 Not Out. *** BUCKET LIST TRIP OF A LIFETIME TO EUROPE COMING UP *** Our fourth 100 Not Out Longevity Experiences takes place in August and September this year. Come to one or both Blue Zones as we head to Sardinia from August 19 to 28 and then to Ikaria from August 30 to September 8. 19/01/2020 Duración: 24minThis is the time of the year where it seems everyone is setting goals, and if not, being told to set goals. But is there a single way to do it? Damian and Marcus have used different approaches over the years with varied results, and they share them on this edition of 100 Not Out. Damian has already achieved one of his 2020 goals, which he shares with great excitement at the top of the show. *** BUCKET LIST *** For people that our attend our 100 Not Out Longevity Experience, it’s often been on the bucket list. A goal that is set a year or two out – or even longer for some. 100NO 354: Heartbreak, War Stories & Longevity with 99yo Bruce Robertson
12/01/2020 Duración: 32minBruce Robertson’s dad died when he was three years of age. His Mum died whilst he was in Papua New Guinea, serving for Australia during World War 2. He’s had dengue fever, appendicitis, lived through the Depression years and experienced the ravages of war. Not just that, Bruce has played more than his part in preserving the freedom and civil liberties that we enjoy in Australia today. His story has been featured by the Australian Air Force and serves as a reminder to all of us how lucky we really are. You can watch Video 1 here and Video 2 here. At 2AM on the 1st of June 1942 Australian Air Force wireless operator Bruce Robertson picked up a Japanese morse code signal as Sydney Harbour was under attack by submarines. If it wasn’t for Bruce’s quick thinking, the Australia we have come to know and love may not be what it is today. At 99 years young and soon to celebrate his 100th Birthday, Bruce Robertson today lives a contented, independent and active life in Sydney’s Castle Hill region. He played cricket into

100NO 353: Our most popular episode re-released – Jamie Oliver, Ikaria & Greek Dancing with Thea Parikos
05/01/2020 Duración: 23minOn this episode (whilst we enjoy the final days of our annual break), we revisit the most downloaded episode ever. Was it because we spoke about Jamie Oliver, or was it because we were entranced by Thea Parikos and Ikaria, the island where people forget to die. Listen in as we discuss longevity, the Jamie juggernaut, the magic of Ikaria and a whole lot more. And if you want to experience this magic with us in 2020, you can apply to join us on our ten-day 100 Not Out Longevity Experience from August 30 to September 8. 100NO 352: Damo’s 2020 wellness trends revealed! Vegan, Keto & More
29/12/2019 Duración: 29minEarlier this year on episode 302 of 100 Not Out Damian revealed his trends of 2019. It’s incredible how prophetic he is! He spoke of the rise and rise of vegan, the rise of food origin, and the rise of the keto diet. The year before he correctly spelled the death of the paleo diet from the mainstream vocabulary when it comes to diet. So … What’s in store for this year? Admittedly, we get a preoccupied for the first 10 to 15 minutes of this episode, but after that, Damian makes his predictions for what’s to come in the year ahead. As always, after seven years of making his bold statements, this episode is not to be missed. *** 2020 Longevity Experiences to Ikaria and Sardinia – Applications are OPEN *** We are thrilled to be running not one, but two Longevity Experiences in 2020. Join us on one or both, as we make our first trip to the Sardinian Blue Zone, followed by our fourth trip to the Greek Island of Ikaria. Both Longevity Experiences are 10 days in duration, and joining us is by application only. All th

100NO 351: Christmas Cheer & the art of “sucking it up”
23/12/2019 Duración: 21minDamo has some advice for anyone dreading spending Christmas with relatives or people they don’t like or get along with … Suck it up. This is not the time of year to get embroiled in meaningless arguments of who is right, who is wrong, and who is better. Christmas is a time of year to give thanks for life, no matter how messy it might be. This type of gratitude and presence is an artform in itself, and we don’t share this message whilst sitting upon our high horse. More than anything this philosophy is a work in progress for both of us. Wishing you a safe, happy and healthy Christmas! *** 2020 Longevity Experiences to Ikaria & Sardinia NOW OPEN *** Perhaps the best Christmas gift you could give yourself is the trip of a lifetime to one – or two – Blue Zones in 2020. We make our debut in Sardinia and return to Ikaria for the fourth time. 100NO 350: Special Edition – Damian Kristof At The 2019 Wellness Summit
15/12/2019 Duración: 38minWe’ve reached a significant milestone at 100 Not Out – 350 episodes! Thank you for your support of the podcast over almost seven years – we’ll have a bigger celebration when we hit 7 years in early 2020. To celebrate this milestone we’re sharing with you Damian’s presentation at this year’s Wellness Summit. It asks you to take even greater responsibility for your health by taking greater responsibility for your community. If you know our message on 100 Not Out, it’s that engagement is a key nutrient to longevity. How engaged are you in life? Damian explores this from a nutrition and lifestyle perspective in this presentation. Want more? Why not join us on one or both of our 10-day Longevity Experience in Europe 2020. Stop 1 is to Sardinia, the Italian Blue Zone from August 19 to 28. Apply at www.100notout.com Stop 2 is to Ikaria, the Greek Island Blue Zone from August 30 to September 8. 100NO 349: Thea Parikos explains why there’s no poor gut health in Ikaria | 2020 Longevity Experience Invitation
08/12/2019 Duración: 28minOver the last supper of our 2019 Longevity Experience in Ikaria, Thea Parikos dropped a bombshell without even knowing it. She casually said that she doesn’t know anyone on the island with a gut health problem. And Thea knows everyone on the island. Our Aphrodites (we had nine women join us on our trip this year) were all aghast at Thea’s statement. So were we. You see, when we run events here in Australia and ask the audience to raise their hands if they have gut health issues, over 90% of the audience will put their hand up. Granted, they are attending a health and wellness event. Yet, on an island of 7500 people, it’s staggering that gut problems are not even a thing. So why is that Ikarian’s don’t experience poor gut health? We go back to Thea Parikos, owner of Thea’s Inn & Restaurant, the base where National Geographic were planted when the Blue Zones were being researched and discovered. And of course, home base for our 100 Not Out Longevity Experience. To apply for our 2020 trip from August 30 to S

100NO 348: 80 and on fire with Shona Olykan
01/12/2019 Duración: 26minShona Olykan joins us for the third time on 100 Not Out! Shona has been featured on episodes 111 and 199. Shona recently turned 80 and to celebrate she has decided to join us in Sardinia next year for our first 100 Not Out Sardinian Longevity Experience.. This comes four years after joining us in Ikaria for our first Greek Island Longevity Experience. On this episode, we discuss what Shona has implemented in the four years since going to Ikaria, and why, at age 80, she feels called to come and join us in Sardinia. When most people are “slowing down”, Shona Olykan is just warming up. As a retirement coach and the founder of Retire On Fire, Shona’s wisdom on retiring INTO something rather than OUT OF something is timeless and invaluable wisdom. We hope you love hearing Shona share her knowledge and insights as much as we enjoyed interviewing her. 100NO 347: The Magic Of Longevity With 24yo Annie Counsel
24/11/2019 Duración: 25min24-year-old Annie Counsel was attending a screening of the newly-released The Longevity Film, when all of a sudden she begun to cry. Vision of Ikaria, the Greek island known as the island where people forget to die, had just appeared. Annie had been in Ikaria just a couple of months earlier on our 100 Not Out Longevity Experience. What was it that made Annie tear up? And more importantly, why is a 24-year-old so interested in and determined to live the 100 Not Out lifestyle? Listen in as our youngest ever guest on 100 Not Out shares her own longevity wisdom. ** Applications are OPEN for our 2020 Longevity Experiences ** In 2020 we return to Ikaria for the fourth time, and making it’s debut is SARDINIA. 100NO 346: Family Dynamics | The Need For Personal Growth
17/11/2019 Duración: 30minOn this episode, we discuss family dynamics – especially intimate relationships – and where resentment, anger, frustration may exist and how we process this. What’s clear is that many longevity cultures do not participate in the personal growth movement that so many of us do? Why is that? Does it make those cultures better or us worse? Marcus and Damian discuss their own experiences with personal growth. They also celebrate over 500,000 downloads and give thanks to everyone who has left reviews or told us you listen! Please continue to share with us your 100 Not Out adventure! We are also now on instagram @100.notout or www.instagram/100.notout In 2020 we return to Europe for not one but TWO Longevity Experiences. Sardinia awaits from August 19 to 28, whilst we are in Ikaria from August 30 to September 8. 10/11/2019 Duración: 35minThe Longevity Film has just been officially released, and we are thrilled to interview the film’s director, producer and major star, Kale Brock. Fresh from the success of The Gut Movie, Kale has synthesised his experiences from three of the world’s Blue Zones. These areas of the world (in Kale’s case, Okinawa in Japan, Ikaria in Greece and Loma Linda in America) experience greater quantity and quality of life. How? Why? We ask Kale all the hard questions. 100NO 344: Rise Above The 5 Longevity Lies
03/11/2019 Duración: 51minA special episode for you this week. Marcus shared the Five Longevity Lies at this year’s Wellness Summit. We believe so many mistruths about ageing well – the five big ones formed the basis of Marcus’s presentation. What ones are you buying into? What lies are holding you back? Is your future potentially negatively impacted because of these limiting beliefs? As always, examples from 100 Not Out are used throughout this presentation. Some of those are from our Longevity Experiences in Ikaria (applications for 2020 open at www.100notout.com), and others closer to home. 100NO 343: How To Make A Tough Decision
27/10/2019 Duración: 27minAfter 8 years, half a million bags of cereal and 10 million servings of Forage, Damian has made the tough decision to close the doors. Using these recent events we discuss the process it takes to make a tough decision – the realisation that one needs to be made, the angst of making it, and then finding the courage to commit to it and go public. We all must face tough decisions in our life. Sometimes we take the easy option or play small; in this case, Damian has made the courageous decision, albeit an unpopular one. If you face a tough decision in your life at the moment, this episode of 100 Not Out will be helpful. Applications are OPEN for our 2020 Longevity Experiences to Sardinia & Ikaria That’s right, we are running TWO Longevity Experiences in 2020. Our first stop is the Blue Zone of Sardinia from August 19 to 28, and then we return to Ikaria for the fourth time from August 30 to September 8. 100NO 342: Is Longevity Only For Older People?
20/10/2019 Duración: 25minIs longevity a popular topic? While anti-ageing is a multi-billion dollar industry, there is massive different between quantity of life and the preservation of youth. On this episode of 100 Not Out we discuss what makes longevity appealing, why it’s not for everyone, and the elephant in the room – who wants quantity of life if quality if life is terrible? And the point? Do whatever it takes to create an incredible quality of life. SARDINIA & IKARIA 2020 Our 10 day Longevity Experiences are getting bigger! In 2020 we head to Ikaria for the fourth time and go to Sardinia for the FIRST time! To join us on one or both of our adventures, head to www.100notout.com for all the info and to apply. Successful applicants will have a call with Marcus to outline the trip and your reasons for wanting to attend. 100NO 341: The Foodie Blue Zone of Sardinia
13/10/2019 Duración: 23minThere are five Blue Zones as designated by National Geographic and the Blue Zones team. Asia is represented with Okinawa, Japan; America has Loma Linda, California (predominately a seventh-day Adventist vegetarian community) and South America has the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica (where corn is their staple). Europe is fortunate to have two Blue Zones – the Greek island of Ikaria and the Italian island of Sardinia. Don’t assume that they are at all alike though. Ikaria is a small island of only 7500 inhabitants. Sardinia has a population of 1.6 million, with only 13 small villages representing the Blue Zone. On Ikaria, where we have run our Longevity Experience since 2016, there is a delicious focus on the Greek version of the Mediterranean Diet. In Sardinia, the wine, olive oil and bread continue to be a staple, but it’s the pasta, vegetables, fruits and meats that separates the two. In 2021, we will be returning to Ikaria, and are excited to announce that we’ll also be running our 10 Day Longevity Experien

100NO 340: Post Ikaria Blues
06/10/2019 Duración: 24minMarcus & Damo are back from Ikaria and have a little post-Ikaria blues. That doesn’t stop them chatting up a storm on just why such a powerful travel experience has left such a mark. For example, Damo experienced immense joy in cleaning the streets of Nas the day after the panigiri. Marcus had a smile from ear to ear when he arrived at Seychelles Beach alongside the Aphrodites (our group name for Ikaria 2019). How do we cultivate the art of allowing simple pleasures to have an impact, when we are culturally complicating almost every process in our daily life? All this and more on a reflective episode of 100 Not Out. *** JOIN US IN 2020 *** Tick Ikaria off your bucket list by joining our 2020 Longevity Experience to the island where people forget to die. 100NO 339: How To Slow Down, Drop The Clock & Relax About Routine with Thea Parikos
29/09/2019 Duración: 22minOn our final night in Ikaria, we are joined by Thea Parikos. Thea has been featured on the podcast many times before and is the magic that allows us to form strong bonds in the village of Nas, get involved in the island and create a true Longevity Experience. As one of our attendees, Shelby, this year exclaimed, we are travellers to the island, not tourists. We’re not walking around waving a big red umbrella. Instead, we’re helping the locals prepare 400kg of goat, 160kg of chips for the panygiri (local festival). We help Thea’s husband, Ilias, work the land, harvesting eggplant, zucchini, chilli and more. Yes, we have some beach days and buy some touristy souvenirs, but the majority of our time is spent living in the village of Nas. In our final big chat with Thea, we discuss how the Ikarians have mastered time instead of being a slave to it. How they keep routine without going crazy or feeling guilty, and a whole lot more. If you love this, why not consider applying to join us in 2020? All details and

100NO 338: How Ikarians Grieve, Do Happiness, Crack Jokes & Makes Friends
22/09/2019 Duración: 31minWelcome to part three of our interview with Marika on her patio in the village of Nas, Ikaria. We are here in Ikaria for the third time and we continue to learn incredible lessons. Our attendees this year are nine women – who have called themselves the Ikarian Aprhodites (who is the Greek Goddess of Love & Beauty) – and they join us in this chat with Marika as we explore grief, socialising, happiness and humour. This is a beautiful deep and meaningful conversation on some of the most important nutrients to the 100 Not Out Lifestyle. We hope you enjoy! 15/09/2019 Duración: 29minWelcome to Part 2 of our 3-part series with Marika. Marika is an Ikaria local about to turn 88. Her quality of life far exceeds that of many people in their 50s and 60s, and we have been fortunate enough to spend an hour with her on her patio, flanked by her family and friends. On this episode, we discuss Marika’s attitudes towards food, including her daily diet, the use of herbal teas, remedies for common ailments such as bee stings, and a whole lot more. We hope you enjoy the infectious personality of Marika! We are returning to Ikaria in 2020.
