  • Episode 196 - Unhappy Endings

    22/09/2020 Duración: 47min

Welcome to Episode 196 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Jake, Mitch and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.  Some great shows have ended, or are ending, both in the sense of the season and also its run.  Venture Brothers have finally (and sadly!) met their end, even though we've only gotten 7 seasons in 16 years.  That show is super funny and will always be remembered fondly by us.  Doom Patrol's season has also ended, and what a weird one that was!  Hoping that if the show continues, they do something for Larry's character because he seems to be getting a lame story line. • Episode 195 - Broadcast Geek Patrol

    12/08/2020 Duración: 01h01min

Welcome to Episode 195 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Jake, Jeff and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.  We're still at it!  As much as it wants to, the Quarantine of 2020 can't keep us down!  Unfortunately, there isn't much to talk about because we aren't getting too much new content.  However, we still have some of our favorites available to watch.  Doom Patrol is a good example.  If you watched first season and thought it was weird, well then buckle up for second season.  The tone is definitely a bit different and it is still fun. We talk a bunch about documentaries, going a bit in depth on the Michael Jordan doc, the Last Dance.  We follow that up with talk on Fear City: NY vs the Mafia.   We finish up with a bunch of star wars talk, mostly about spinoffs from Solo.  Jeff drops knowledge on the SW universe, characters and t

  • Episode 194 - Shrill Coulson

    29/07/2020 Duración: 01h09min

Welcome to Episode 194 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jeff, Nate Balding, and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.    Nate is back with us, and he breaks down Agents of Shield!  Will the REAL Phil Coulson, please stand up.  Please stand up!  Agent Coulson has been through a lot on the show, and the current iteration of him isn't real...or is it?  It seems he is an LMD, and we find out that he isn't the only one.   We go on a Batman dive, starting the conversation with the infamous Batmobile.  There is a documentary talking about the different ones over time.  We talk about our favorites, from the '66 one to the tumbler.  Do you have a favorite?     We go into Marvel, and discuss possible plans for the TV characters moving forward.  There have been talks about Punisher and Daredevil possibly moving forward, but those are un

  • Episode 193 - Señor Juggalo

    14/07/2020 Duración: 58min

Welcome to Episode 193 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jake, Nate Balding, and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.  Nate Balding is in the house, once again!  Actually, he's been at his "house" the whole time, though this time he joined us on our GeekZoom chat.   Taking time from critically acclaimed podcast, Werewolf Radar, he spits out some hot takes on all sorts of topics for your aural delight.  HBOMax and DCUniverse have an interesting relationship, one that could be thought of as annoying especially if you want DC related content.  At the time of this recording, much was unknown regarding how the two would interact.  HBOMax has a bunch of content that is accessible on DCU, but it doesn't have ALL of the content from DCU.  This means you might still want to pay for the DCU, which is kind of lame.  However, HBOMax just

  • Episode 192 - ScrewLU

    10/06/2020 Duración: 59min

Welcome to Episode 192 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the  Power Trio of Geeks (Mitch, Jeff, and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.  Your Broadcast Guardians of the Galaxy are back!  The never ending supply of content out there keeps us busy, and we do our best to keep you up to date.  Like the last Duck Tales...if you are a wrestling fan, then this episode is for you.  Its got everything you want from a cartoon.  Then again, so does Harley which is continuing to excite and please.  The latest episode, at the time, had Ivy's bachelorette party and Kiteman's bachelor party.  One was a little more wilder than the other and the episode also featured some backstory on King Shark.  Great stuff! The Bat is back...or making his way back!  It seems production is back on, which is exciting, and we're curious how it'll tie into the bigger universe.

  • Episode 191 - Schwimm Team

    04/06/2020 Duración: 01h11min

Welcome to Episode 191 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jeff, Jake, and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.  The world is falling apart around us, but we have little problem staying distracted.  We start talking about Scoob, the new Scooby Doo movie which is ALSO a Blue Falcon movie.  The movie kind of sets up a Hanna-Barbera universe, as it introduces Blue Falcon & Dynomutt, and also Captain Caveman and Dick Dastardly with stills of Jabberjaw, Grape Ape and Atom Ant.  Maybe we'll see the HBCU.   We've also seen Pikachu Detective, with Ryan Reynolds, which was very fun and entertaining.  This led us down a Ryan Reynolds favorite movie path, which is easy with him. Somehow, we got into David Schwimmer and his roles.  Does he have many?   Last, we delve into DC territory.  There is news that Ruby Rose is out as Batwoman,

  • Episode 190 - Was Porkins a Poor Pilot?

    21/05/2020 Duración: 57min

Welcome to Episode 190 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jeff, Jake, Chris Baker and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.  The Quarantine is still upon us, but that doesn't dampen our spirits...or our consumption of them!  It also hasn't stopped our viewing, which is good because there is definitely an abundance of shows to watch.  We start with Harley Quinn, as it is the most consistently fun show to watch right now.  It's well animated, well voiced, and consistent with the humor and violence.  DC has always had great animation, as we transitioned to JL Dark: Apocolips War, on the DCU.  It's a mashup of hero and villain groups taking on Darkseid and it looks pretty solid.   Star Wars news!  Taika Waititi is slated to direct a Star Wars movie, which many of us are hoping doesn't involve a Skywalker.  Regardless, everything he

  • Episode 189 - Somehow Palpatine Returned!

    13/05/2020 Duración: 53min

Welcome to Episode 189 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jeff, and Matt Orrin)  are virtually together to discuss all things geek.  The original power trio are "together", Covid-style, and talk about all kinds of things.  We talk about the lack of new content that will be felt at some point, though there is probably plenty of films available, that studios might have passed on initially.  Who knows...we might not see a gap at all!  However, we definitely are seeing lots of films already made that are being pushed out further and further.  Films such as Black Widow and the ill-fated New Mutants.  Mitch is working his way thru the Netflix Marvel shows, and he lets us know where he is at and his thoughts.  Some of which he only watched once so this is a good opportunity to get a recap of ALL of the shows.  We talk more about the Marvel movies, and then in

  • Episode 188 - Baking Bad

    28/04/2020 Duración: 01h10min

Welcome to Episode 188 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jeff, Jake, Chris Baker and Matt Orrin) joined by Carlos Madrid, are virtually together to discuss all things geek.    We're still stuck at our homes, just like most of you, which is just an opportunity to get caught up on stuff! Like DuckTales, for example, which has Jason Mantzoukas as Steelbeak.  It was a great episode with lots of cool extras for your nostalgic enjoyment.   Given that most of us aren't going anywhere any time soon, we have time to watch those shows that eluded us back when they came out.  Jeff is starting Breaking Bad, though that show can be a struggle for some.  We talked about that show and Breaking Saul, and how they tie together.  Kristen Ritter was on that show, which got us talking Marvel because, well...Marvel.  Community is another show some never watched, and boy-h

  • Episode 187 - Finding Facts That Don't Exist!

    15/04/2020 Duración: 44min

Welcome to Episode 187 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jeff, Jake, and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.  It's still Quarantine 2020 and we had another video conference to bring you necessary Geek content!  The streaming services are all being taxed, and so far they are holding up well.  Duck Tales is back, which is always great Rona viewing.  The second episode establishes Goofy in their universe but we'll see if he'll be a recurring character.  However, Disney+ only has the first two seasons and the the new episodes of the show can be found on DisneyXD.  Since we're on the Wonderful World of Disney, we started talking about the Mandalorian which should be dropping in October of this year.  We're ALL excited about the rumors of Rosario Dawson being cast as Ahsoka Tano for season 2.  We'll keep our fingers crossed for it

  • Episode 186 - Into the Rona-verse!

    31/03/2020 Duración: 52min

Welcome to Episode 186 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jeff, Jake, Chris and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.  Covid-19 is dominating 2020, so far, and we're all in quarantine practicing our social distancing.  We did an online conferencing  so we can get back to sharing our opinions on stuff that really matters! After a long hiatus, it felt good to talk Geek again with each other and we started with shows people are watching.  The world seems pretty obsessed with Joe Exotic and the Netflix show, Tiger King.  Mitch goes into detail as to why this is a show to watch. He was against it at first but was all-in after keeping at it.  Jeff is working through Ozarks, which is already on its 3rd season.  Who doesn't like Jason Bateman?! We had a somewhat lively discussion about Quentin Tarantino movies, which is our favorite or

  • Episode 185 - Dolphin Lundgren

    21/02/2020 Duración: 01h09min

Welcome to Episode 185 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jeff and Matt Orrin) are joined by Reese Jenniges in the space known as Davey Jones Locker, formerly known as the Quantum Realm, to discuss all things geek.  Harley Quinn started off the conversation, how good the characters are and how fun the show is.  We delve a bit into Poison Ivy's psyche, as she is considered one of the most powerful characters in the show, if not the most powerful.  Although the last episode made us wonder whether or not she can Groot herself, and regrow if she were hypothetically killed.  Fan favorite Jim Gordon is constantly on the edge of losing it, and Batman needs to regulate on him at times. Speaking of Harley, her new movie just came out.  Word is that it is pretty good, much like Suicide Squad was, despite it's under performing at the box office.  We just want a f

  • Episode 184 - Hulk: The Musical

    16/02/2020 Duración: 01h03min

Welcome to Episode 184 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Mitch and Jake) are joined by Reese Jenniges in the space known as Davey Jones Locker, formerly known as the Quantum Realm, to discuss all things geek.  People are still digging Harley Quinn's show on DCU!  The voices are great and the characters are fun.  Mitch shares his opinions on it. Not only does he have opinions on that show, he also thinks Hulk should be a musical and everyone thinks Mitch should play the main character.  It would have to be off-Broadway, of course.  Uncut Gems was also talked about, especially after it got no love from the Academy.     You can send your feedback and show topic ideas to broadcastgeeks@gmail.com. • Episode 183 - Desus and Mary Chain

    09/02/2020 Duración: 01h08min

Welcome to Episode 183 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, an almost full cadre of Geeks (Mitch, Jake, Nate, Chris Baker and Matt Orrin) are back in the space known as Davey Jones Locker, formerly known as the Quantum Realm, to discuss all things geek.  Nate has risen once again, this time with a super sweet mustache.  And a bunch of opinions about stuff, such as DC's direction and their treatment of Stephen Amell.  We also discussed how awesome Amell is, for multiple reasons, though this time for his response to a panic attack he experienced on Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum.  He left the show in mid recording, took some solo time, then returned 2 weeks later and discussed what happened.  We will miss him on the CW shows, and he could have made a decent regular Spectre character.   Sabrina, which is apparently on her 3rd season, took up a good amount of conversati

  • Episode 182 - Release the Becker Cut

    02/02/2020 Duración: 01h07min

Welcome to Episode 182 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, an unusual power trio of Geeks (Mitch, Chris Baker and Matt Orrin) are back in the space known as Davey Jones Locker, formerly known as the Quantum Realm, to discuss all things geek.  After technical difficulties, we're back!  There is an episode out there in the consciousness that we wanted to publish, but it eluded us.  So, we tried again a week later and here it is.  If a memory device that can extract the info from our heads, then we'll release that cut.  think Johnny Mnemonic. Have you watch the new Harley Quinn show on DCU?  Its so much fun to watch, though the language and violence, even for a cartoon, can be a little jarring.  However, the show is still very light and fun and follows Harley as she tries to establish her persona sans Joker, and earn a spot in the Legion of Doom (LoD).  The voices should be

  • Episode 181 - Carpe DC

    08/01/2020 Duración: 01h07min

Welcome to Episode 181 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, a power trio of Geeks (Jake, Jeff Albright and Matt Orrin) are back in the space known as Davey Jones Locker, formerly known as the Quantum Realm, to discuss all things geek. DC dominates the conversation, as we discuss some of the finer details of Joker movie and possible connections to the bigger picture.  Jared Let-who?  The new Batman movie, starring Robert Pattinson as the Bat, could end up being a Long Halloween story line especially with all the A-list people casted as villains.  This could be the start of a great decade for DC, with a universe set up to be pretty packed.  Look to the skies! We can't ignore the other lantern, Marvel studios, because they always have some tricks up their sleeves.  Despite Disney screwing up and pushing out Disney+ before it was truly ready, we are still gonna get some cool

If you couldn't guess from the title, this week we spoke Solo-ly about the last episode in the Skywalker saga, Rise of the Skywalker.  This is a spoiler heavy episode, so if you haven't yet seen the movie and don't want to know details...DON'T LISTEN!  However, if you really cared then you might have already seen the movie, which means you should definitely LISTEN!  We also talk a bit about the Mandalorian, and maybe how the show tied into the movie.  We give ALL of our opinions, and thoughts, about the movie and the future of Star Wars projects.  Tell us your thoughts! You can send your feedback and show topic ideas to broadcastgeeks@gmail.com.

  • Episode 179 - The Mouse is on it!

    18/12/2019 Duración: 01h13min

Welcome to Episode 179 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jake, and Matt Orrin) are joined by honorary Geek JD Lopez, and are back in the space known as Davey Jones Locker, formerly known as the Quantum Realm, to discuss all things geek.  Another week and another discussion of Star Wars and the Mandalorian.  Mando has been dealing with all kinds of not fun stuff trying to take care of Yodito aka Lil Yod.  The show is a powerhouse and we try and indoctrinate Mitch a little bit more, in hopes he'll get a Disney+ subscription.  Also, JD Lopez tells us how he and his girl watched the Star Wars movies chronologically, and breaks down the experience a little bit.   We have a brief stint where we discuss the CW shows, most specifically Riverdale.  Jake informs us that they have reverted back to a formula that works, as opposed to the convoluted mess they've h

On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Nate, Jeff and Matt Orrin) are back in the space known as Davey Jones Locker, formerly known as the Quantum Realm, to discuss all things geek.  Nate Balding is back!  He returns to talk about different movies, such as Knives Out, and our usual geek related shows.  Once again, the Mandalorian and Star Wars talk take up a big chunk!  We get caught up on the events of everyones favorite new masked man, along with his little green sidekick.  Did Boba make an appearance on the latest episode?  Well, we dont actually see him but Jeff is pretty confident.  Watchmen is progressing nicely and this latest installment features Dr. Manhattan, and gives a little bit of insight into him and his character.  This show is nuts!  The characters are cool, the story is heavy, and its got some good production.   Cri

  • Episode 177 - Dis(ney) is the Way!

    05/12/2019 Duración: 01h10min

Welcome to Episode 177 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jake, Jeff and Matt Orrin) are back in the space known as Davey Jones Locker, formerly known as the Quantum Realm, to discuss all things geek.  The Mandalorian is dominating our lives, or at least most of us!  Mitch is still holding out with his own private rebellion against the Disney Empire.  Fix the damn Simpsons people, so Mitch can partake in the glory of Disney+.  I have spoken!   Joe Pesci and Danny Glover were the featured actors that we discussed, and we went through our faves of each.  They both have a decent catalog, both starring in recent films.  Joe Pesci was in the Irishman, the newest Scorsese film that was most likely NOT seen in the theaters due to a limited run, and was released on Netflix.  Lot of controversy toward that movie, and we talk a bit about it. Lastly, Jon Favreau
