  • Episode 176 - Attack of the Conch

    20/11/2019 Duración: 01h53s

Welcome to Episode 176 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jake, Jeff and Matt Orrin), joined by Roger Norquist, are back in the space known as Davey Jones Locker, formerly known as the Quantum Realm, to discuss all things geek.  With Disney+ in our lives (not Mitch's!!) its hard to talk about anything else!  We spent the majority of this episode talking about the Mandalorian and the greater Star Wars universe.  What's up with that Yodito?  Is he a clone of Yoda, or an offspring?  We know so little about his race so it's all speculation.  However, we know it's about 50 years old, which would put him back to the time when Anakin was "conceived".  Coincidence? We also talked more about the Joker movie, which Jake and Jeff highly recommend despite its "dirty" feel.  We also discuss whether or not we should expect to see that Joker appear in the new Batman

  • Episode 175 - The Vague Escape

    13/11/2019 Duración: 01h07min

Welcome to Episode 175 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geek Power Trio (Mitch, Jake, and Matt Orrin) are back in the space known as Davey Jones Locker, formerly known as the Quantum Realm, to discuss all things geek.  Another week, and apparently we're gonna get another season of Titans!  That show has been consistently good and we're all glad that it will get another season.  We do a slight recap and then talk a bit about HBO Max, which will also cover the DCUniverse.  However, we don't know how it will be available though current HBO subscribers will get a free year of HBO Max.   Speaking of HBO, the Watchmen has also been really good.  A familiar character makes her way to the show as an FBI agent, dealing with a town wrought with decades old racial tension.  Is the show a continuation of the comic books, or the movie?  Or a combination of both?  Watch and sha

  • Episode 174 - Star Wars: Oranges

    06/11/2019 Duración: 01h11min

Welcome to Episode 174 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geek Power Trio (Mitch, Jeff, and Matt Orrin) are back in the space known as Davey Jones Locker, formerly known as the Quantum Realm, to discuss all things geek.  We start our discussion with the new show on HBO, The Watchmen, which is a continuation of the story  but takes place in modern day, though we aren't sure if it is after the comics or the Snyder movie.  We assume it is more from the comic because of the squid stuff in it, but hopefully we'll find out.  Either way, the show is pretty intense with some strong societal tones in it, such as racism.  Don Johnson gives a pretty solid performance, and all we know so far is that police are allowed to hide their faces for their safety.  Seems good so far, and it also starts our featured actor this episode, which is Louis Gossert Jr., beloved actor who starre

  • Episode 173 - The Righteous Geekstones

    26/10/2019 Duración: 01h05min

Welcome to Episode 173 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jeff, & Jake) are joined by Piper Shepherd, in the space known as Davey Jones Locker, formerly known as the Quantum Realm, to discuss all things geek. Another week with the Righteous Gemstones on the docket.  The never ending drama of everyone's favorite world-famous televangelist family continues to enthrall people, especially the Geeks.  With that much talent on the show, how could it not? For the DC portion of the show, we talk about Titans.  Second season has been great, with all kinds of new characters being introduced and the Titans deadliest foe, Deathstroke, really asserting himself.  He's been a huge disruption in the lives of all the characters.  Conversation shifts to the NEW Batman movie, with potential casting such as Jonah Hill as the Riddler.  We discuss in more length.   Star

  • Episode 172 - It was a Big Rock!

    17/10/2019 Duración: 01h08min

Welcome to Episode 172 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jeff, Jake, and Matt Orrin) are back together, in the space known as Davey Jones Locker, formerly known as the Quantum Realm, to discuss all things geek.  We start off the discussions with Jake and Mitch geeking out over the Righteous Gemstones, and its most recent episodes.  We slowly make our way over to Titans, which has a LOT going on.  We talked about Connor being on the show, and how they handled his origin.  He has the memories and abilities of both Lex and Clark, who are both his dads.  He has a bunch of mishaps and has interesting encounters.  Apparently his shirt is bulletproof because his wardrobe stays intact, despite the number of bullets show at him.  Must be nice, wonder what kind of material it is.   The CW shows are working their way back, which means the Crisis is imminent!  We

  • Episode 171 - Uncle Baby Billy Butcher

    25/09/2019 Duración: 01h08min

Welcome to Episode 171 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the OG's (Mitch, Jeff, Jake, Nate and Matt Orrin) are back together, in the Quantum Realm to discuss all things geek.  Werewolf Radar lent us our old friend, and Original Geek, Nate Balding to record with us once again.  Mitch and Jake fill him in on The Righteous Gemstones, which is where we get this weeks title.  The show has a stellar cast and delivers the laughs, as awkward as they might be.   We jump into the world of DC and it looks glorious!  Titans is back and its been great!  The conversation jumps to Crisis, which might be the most anticipated show of the year!  It signals the end of Arrow, but more importantly it might include a certain Terry McGinnis.  Hopefully the Bat Gods are on our side! Disney+ is a couple of months away and we started talking about Marvel properties.  The Netflix characters are

  • Episode 170 - Being Johnny Mnemonic

    18/09/2019 Duración: 01h05min

Welcome to Episode 170 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jeff, Jake and Matt Orrin) joined by Reese Jenniges, are back in the Quantum Realm to discuss all things geek.  Quentin Tarantino dominated the conversation for a while, listing of his films to determine his best one.  Hateful 8, Pulp Fiction, and Kill Bill get their due respect.  How could you talk about his movies without talking about his regular actors, such as Samuel L. Jackson and Walton Goggins...well, you can't so we did a plenty! We talk Disney, because we are their slaves like Leia was to Jabba.  We talk about their inevitable cartoon hour and when would be good times to show certain shows, like Duck Tales!!  Apparently, they pushed out an entire season in 2 weeks, showing new episodes daily.  Jake drops a bomb shell about the last episode that gets Matt Orrin all aflutter. Let's get d

  • Episode 169 - Bachelor in ParaDePysh

    12/09/2019 Duración: 54min

Welcome to Episode 169 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Jake, Mitch, Chris Baker and Matt Orrin) joined by Jeremy Pysher and Rebecca Robinson, are back in the Quantum Realm to discuss all things geek.  The table was full this week with guests and good conversation.  We talked Disney+ and also what shows will end up on there, hopefully including Duck Tales which has been releasing episodes every day it seems!!  The show is still so good and Jake breaks down the new episodes for us.  Disney+ is months away and some of us already have our subscriptions ready.  We talked a lot about a Lizzy McGuire reboot, then more about the generational differences of TV shows from our youths. Next, Jake and Mitch were GEEKED out over a new show on HBO, Righteous Gemstones.  Anything with John Goodman is worth it, but this has a solid supporting cast.  Its about a family of T

  • Episode 168 - Skillverine

    29/08/2019 Duración: 01h08min

Welcome to Episode 168 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Jeff, Jake, Mitch, Chris Baker and Matt Orrin) are joined by Josh Skillman, and are back in the Quantum Realm to discuss all things geek.  D23 just passed and we were ALL a buzz over the news!!  So much Disney stuff to talk about, especially since they own everything these days.  Firstly, we had to talk about the Sony Marvel news, in which Spiderman will become disconnected from the MCU as a result of Feige not having involvement.  Disney wants a huge chunk (half!?) of earnings from the next Spiderman movie, as well as involvement in a Venom movie.  The question is:  Can Sony make a movie without Marvels help and still make a ton of money?  Based on past movies, it doesn't seem too likely.  Venom did fine, but Spidey must have ridden on the coattails of Endgame to pull in the kinds of numbers it did.

  • Episode 167 - Jeff Never Took Math!

    23/08/2019 Duración: 01h09min

Welcome to Episode 167 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week the Power Trio (Jeff, Jake, and Matt Orrin) are back in the Quantum Realm to discuss all things geek.  A shortened group we were, but the content is still solid!  We started talking about Mind Hunters, which just released its second season.  We focused on the new AD on the show, which is some bald guy that has been on other shows we watch, like Fringe.  He's really good, as is the show.  Something enjoyable about watching shows on serial killers. Next up: animation!  Apparently, Kevin Smith is working on a new He-Man cartoon, which might be related to the new She-Ra cartoon.  Its probably gonna be solid with Kevin Smith behind the wheel.  What about the old He-Man though, does it still hold up?  According to Jake, it doesn't!  None of the shows do, it sounds like.  Though the Transformers movie of old was solid, i

  • Episode 166 - Namor Pyle

    14/08/2019 Duración: 01h18min

Welcome to Episode 166 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week the Power Trio (Jeff, Mitch, and Matt Orrin) are back in the Quantum Realm to discuss all things geek.  We start off with something we've never fully delved into...coffee!  Apparently, Jeff drank enough coffee that day to kill a large animal but he made it through the episode.  He shared all his knowledge from training about different ways to treat the bean and make coffee, labeling the segment Broadcast Beans.  It was very informative.  Somehow, as is our way, it provided a lead in to Jessica Jones.  We all agree that Trish sucks.  Not the actress, but the character portrayal.  Shes just an annoying character and despite that, the show was real good.   Jeff has been on a big Documentary kick, excluding all his other shows to absorb as much Documentary as he can.  Of course, we talked about the Flat Earther one fo

  • Episode 165 - The Tricycle of Justice

    07/08/2019 Duración: 01h07min

Welcome to Episode 165 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week the Power Trio (Jake, Mitch, and Matt Orrin) are back in the Quantum Realm to discuss all things geek.  After a week off, we start off with technical difficulties but we persevered and here we are!  Andy Serkis comes up first because he's directing the next Venom movie.  Who is the villain in it?  Could it be a Sinister Six character, or are they keeping it separate from the rest of the Universe?  We list through some Spidey villains DC is killing it, not quite like the MCU, but in their own way with a lot of different properties.  They are very loyal to their stars and are bringing back old actors for the upcoming Crisis Crossover this fall.  Kevin Conroy will be doing the voice of old man Bruce Wayne with hopefully a Batman Beyond.  Will he be visiblly voicing Bruce, or just hear his voice.  Can't wait to find o

  • Episode 164 - American History Hulk

    24/07/2019 Duración: 01h30min

Welcome to Episode 164 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week the Sinister Six (Jeff, Jake, Mitch, Nate Balding, Matt Orrin and Chris Baker!!) are back in the Quantum Realm to discuss all things geek.  The Sinister Six has assembled to take on the new Marvel threat...Phase 4!  This topic will be discussed for weeks, maybe months and it gets some time on this episode.  A list of movies and shows, connecting to each other, for the next 2 years between theaters and the Disney+ streaming service.  Gonna see a Hawkeye show, hopefully based on the Matt Fraction comics, and a show called WandaVision on the service, though first in theaters is a Scarlet Witch movie.  Also, a scary Doctor Strange movie and, kung fu movie hero, Shang Chi are on the lineup for Phase 4.  SO MUCH MARVEL!   First, however, we talked Star Trek.  Specifically, the new Picard show coming out on CBS All Acces

  • Episode 163 - What Was His Name?

    18/07/2019 Duración: 57min

Welcome to Episode 163 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week the Power Trio (Jake, Mitch and Matt Orrin) are back in the Quantum Realm to discuss all things geek.  After a week of technical difficulties where we lost a Spiderman spoiler episode to Thanos, we return to spoil the new webslinger movie.  We don't give too many details but we definitely discuss the post credit scene and its implications of the next phase of the MCU.  With the recent announcement of a new Thor movie, it looks like Chris Hemsworth is happy to stay aboard on this crazy ride.  We wonder how deep into the next phase he will be, as we still don't fully know the direction Marvel will be taking.  It does seem as if they will continue to have creative control over the next Spiderman movie because Far From Home is close to breaking the billion dollar mark, which seemed to be a stipulation between Marvel a

  • Episode 162 - Slocum's Run

    03/07/2019 Duración: 01h07min

Welcome to Episode 162 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week the Power Quartet (Jeff, Jake, Mitch and Matt Orrin) are back in the Quantum Realm to discuss all things geek.  There is talk that the Office and Always Sunny in Philadelphia shows might have some sort of combined world action.  Would that be an Always Sunny show that featured some of the Office staff?  Which former cast members would want to be on that show?  It stands to reason that many would because it would be a lot of fun.  Wouldn't it be cool if the Office just released an one-time episode, featuring members of Always Sunny?  We talk about it. Jeff talks sports and about how much he loves NBA basketball, especially with the draft stuff going on.  We jump into the Trinity of bad teams in NY and why they rhyme.  In our sports segment, we also address a new show called Holey Moley.  It's a mini golf show with

  • Episode 161 - Visual Hoes and Bros

    26/06/2019 Duración: 01h07min

Welcome to Episode 161 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Jeff, Jake, Mitch and Matt Orrin) joined by Joel Vernon and Alex Creasy, are back in the Quantum Realm to discuss all things geek. We were a bit packed this week in the basement of Mutiny, but that didn't stop us from doing what we do best.  We started with the new Child's Play, which Joel had just seen and enjoyed.  It has some fundamental differences from the original, and we discussed those and how they might have effected the movie.  Then again, Joel is apparently a big Youtube content consumer, so its hard to really trust his judgement!   He did share a show he geeks out on, about a thrift store shopper named Paul Cantu.  He sounds pretty obsessed with this show. Alex Creasy shared some thoughts, which is always a gamble.  He wants to make a 4th Matrix movie, and tells us the premise of it.  It so

  • Episode 160 - Hunter X Thompson

    12/06/2019 Duración: 01h08min

Welcome to Episode 160 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Jeff, Mitch and Matt Orrin) joined by Net sensation Roxxy Haze, are back in the Quantum Realm to discuss all things geek. Roxxy Haze, a self professed Blerd (Black Nerd), shined her special light on us and shared with us her geek factor.  Being a Marvel girl, she dropped her MCU top 3 on us, which says a lot about her personality.  In fact, she dropped all kinds of knowledge on us about a wide variety of topics, especially her fervor for Anime.  She also takes a crack at singing old theme songs, in the voice of Cher, which is apparently one of her superpowers.  Wanna know what else she can do? While we were deep in the MCU, we talked a lot about Endgame and which scenes made us cry.  Was it when Hawkeye lost his family? Or when Thor saw his mom?  Or, what about when Tony Stark left us?  There were so m

  • Episode 159 - That's a Bat Idea

    09/06/2019 Duración: 01h17min

Welcome to Episode 159 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Jeff, Jake, Nate, Mitch and Matt Orrin) are back in the Quantum Realm to discuss all things geek. Denver Pop Culture Con (formerly Denver Comic Con) has just ended and Matt Orrin talks about some of the finer moments for him, such as seeing Dave Bautista, Tom Wilson, and Christopher Lloyd.  The panels were fun and informative!  We moved on to DC and started talking all kinds of news, such as Robert "shimmery vampire" Pattinson as the new Dark Knight.  Hopefully, this one doesn't sparkle at night!  Are they gonna start to connect DC properties to the DCU?  This could help change the way actors take jobs and their contracts.  Speaking of which, Swamp Thing got cancelled ONE WEEK after it premiered.  Can you believe that?  We don't know why but there is lots of false rumors spreading around.  Good Omens i

  • Episode 158 - That's Ducked Up!

    30/05/2019 Duración: 01h04min

Welcome to Episode 158 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, a splinter group of Geeks (Mitch and Matt Orrin) are joined by Evan Johnson at Aunt May's house, to discuss all things geek. Matt Orrin saw Godzilla at a sneak preview, and then raced over to Aunt May's house to talk about it!  There shouldn't be any spoilers, though that depends on how sensitive you are.  Besides, what kind of spoilers could you really have in a monster film like that?  Just know that there are a lot of monsters shown, or mentioned in the movie!  The movie was fun and the Geeks talk about those kinds of movies, specifically about how big they must be.  For example, how big is King in his movies?  Turns out, he has been different sizes in all of the different iterations but we feel if he will face Godzilla in the future, he'd need to be at least 180 ft, or 60 meters.   Duck Tales continues to imp

  • Episode 157 - Commie Hummus

    16/05/2019 Duración: 01h17min

Welcome to Episode 157 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others.  This week, the Geeks (Jake, Jeff, Mitch, Nate and Matt Orrin), joined by Michael Jeffries, are back in the Quantum Realm, under Mutiny Information Cafe, to discuss all things geek.   Back from a fun live show in Trinidad, we hunker down at our home base for more geekiness, starting with the ever great Doom Patrol.  The season is almost over and so much is happening on the show.  The last episode had a lot of ass in it, although probably not how you're thinking.  Tudyk continues to dominate on this show, though everyone does a real good job.  We started talking about Brendan Fraser movies, as we are wont to do.  What's your favorite movie of his? The multiverse is a thing that is prevalent amongst Marvel offerings, most notably in the Spider-verse but also in Agents of Shield.  The new season features all kinds of twists, an
