Episode 236 - Spiderballs
15/12/2021 Duración: 58minWelcome to Episode 236 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jake, and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek. Holy primate assassin! Hit Monkey is killer, in more ways than one. This show is great and apparently canon so give it a watch, its good. On the Disney+ app, we're also watching Hawkeye and that isn't disappointing us at all. In fact, some might argue its the best of its type. As we are wont to do, the Turtles take over the conversation. We talk comics and movies. Do you have a favorite? More importantly, which Turtle do you identify? You can send your feedback and show topic ideas to broadcastgeeks@gmail.com. Follow us on Twitter @broadcastgeeks and on Instagram @broadcast_geeks. Episode 235 - Ringo Stark
08/12/2021 Duración: 01h10minWelcome to Episode 235 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jake, Jeff & Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek. The anniversary of our first episodic release! We learn that there are people with 6 degrees of Jake Becker, in what we deem the Becker-verse. Kumail? TJ? Who hasn't he gotten high with? Also, He feels that listeners are over the intro, but some of us like to do the intro. How do you feel about it? We also talk about Hawkeye, currently streaming on Disney+ and it's good out of the gate. One thing we wondered about is the former Avengers tower. Who owns it now? Could it be the Baxter building? We might be stretching it a bit, but who knows. The Beatles doc on Netflix is also discussed and it is a hit, for big fans and even minor fans. Episode 234 - Mike Daynor Kenobi
01/12/2021 Duración: 52minWelcome to Episode 234 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Mitch & Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek. That Spidey trailer dropped and we are talking about it. So many unknowns, but what we DO know is that it'll be chock full of characters! The sinister 6 is there, however we only can confirm five. Who will be the sixth? Also, will the other Spidermans be there? We are definitely excited for this movie! Disney+ released their upcoming titles for Disney+ Day, and there are a bunch of Marvel properties that are gonna drop. Moon Knight, She Hulk (with a potential Matt Murdock appearance!!) and Ms. Marvel are some of the bigger ones we are expecting, and it looks like there will be second seasons of some of the previous titles. What are you looking forward to? You can send your feedback and show topic ideas to broadcastgeeks@gmail.com. Follow us o

Episode 233 - You Got Some Splainin to Dune!
22/11/2021 Duración: 01h12minWelcome to Episode 233 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jeff & Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek. Reese Jenniges joins us again for a quality episode, where we focus on the Eternals. It was a fun movie, with some tie-ins to the MCU we are all familiar with. We discuss Celestials and whether or not Galactus, or Ego, are considered part of them. Dune gets some air time as the new movie was also recently released, but we shift to something more "sinister": ICP. The clowns have a doc out regarding an FBI designation of being a gang and Mitch, Juggalo #2512, goes in depth about it. What's your thoughts on ICP? Jeff is considered Juggalo-Friendly, and the clowns seem down with him. How about you? You can send your feedback and show topic ideas to broadcastgeeks@gmail.com. Episode 232 - Chris Pratt Does Everybody!
19/11/2021 Duración: 59minWelcome to Episode 232 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jeff, and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek. Does Chris Pratt do voiceover work for you? It seems to be his new niche as he is slated to voice Mario, everyone's favorite plumber, as well as Garfield the cat. Jeff gets excited because he shares a connection with Garfield, as creator Jim Davis is from the same home town as Jeff. Also, Jeff likes lasagna! But seriously, why is old Starlord being picked to voice every character in Hollywood? We then get into a good discussion as to whether Captain Marvel can take Wonder Woman in a fight. We're kind of split, and good points are brought up such as Wonder Woman might be better suited to fight Thor. Who do you think will win in a battle between to two warrior women? Episode 231 - Abuela Jane
29/10/2021 Duración: 01h13sWelcome to Episode 231 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Jake and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek. What a special episode we have in store for you!! OG (Original Geek) Chris Baker comes back to us, along with long-time Geek Carlos Madrid. We start off talking HBO shows, previously on DCU. Both Titans and Doom Patrol have been strong, with Titans concluding their season. Tim is being taken under Dick's wing to become a Titan, Conner is getting some resolve with blackfire, and Jason Todd will move on. Doom Patrol is always a favorite, both as a comic and a show! They are doing some cool things with a decent budget, by the looks of it. Baker talks Trek for a bit, especially pumping up Lower Decks which is an animated Star Trek story. Sounds like a fun, and funny premise and should be checked out by Trekkies. We also learn about a show called C

Episode 230 - He Got His Krypt On
27/10/2021 Duración: 01h01minWelcome to Episode 230 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Jeff Albright, Matt Orrin and Midnight Mitch Jones) are virtually together to discuss all things geek. The Geeks are joined by Geek Reese Jenniges to discuss all kinds of things! We start off with talking about a possible Hulk movie, and jump into Shang Chi. All the movies are being pushed back in the next year or two so we gotta get what we can while we can! The end of the Titans current season is upon us! Again, will Jason find redemption? WTF is Connor doing and is he going bad? Its been a fun season and it came out strong. Let's hope it ends that way as well. Episode 229 - Ride the Lightning Out!
22/10/2021 Duración: 58minWelcome to Episode 229 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Jake, Matt Orrin and Midnight Mitch Jones) are virtually together to discuss all things geek. Titans isn't over yet, and things have gotten out of control with Jason. What's up with Batman? Worst Batman ever! Harrison Ford came up, and its been so long, I can't remember why I wrote his name. We definitely talked about his movies and which is currently our favorite. One that never gets mentioned is Regarding Henry, about a shitty lawyer that has a traumatic brain event and has to relearn everything. What's your favorite Ford movie? Episode 228 - You Just Got Watched!
20/10/2021 Duración: 52minWelcome to Episode 228 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Jake, Matt Orrin and Midnight Mitch Jones) are virtually together to discuss all things geek. It's hard not to talk about Titans because it's great! They are starting to develop each of the characters, giving them the necessary depth and abilities that they deserve. Will they stop The Red Hood and Scarecrow? Will Beast Boy finally change into another animal other than the Tiger? Doom Patrol is still a thing and we also talk a bit about it, mostly to show love for Brendan Fraser. What's your favorite Brendan Fraser film? Black Widow settled her lawsuit with Disney which is nice for everyone. Maybe we will see her again in the MCU? Probably don't hold your breath. What if...? is close to it's end and this last episode shows if Ultron had transferred himself to Vision. He interacts with The Watchmen, which could set

Episode 227 - He‘s Undead to Us!
19/10/2021 Duración: 01h06minWelcome to Episode 227 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Jeff Albright, Matt Orrin and Midnight Mitch Jones) are virtually together to discuss all things geek. What if...? on Disney is first on the docket. It has some strengths, but up until this point it is a mixed bag. It's great to hear the original voices for many of the characters we know and love, but the stories have been a little weak. Hopefully they will finish strong on this show. Titans! This show keeps packing the punches, and it gives us a little insight into the Dick & Barbara history, where they were both acting like thieves breaking into banks and vaults. I guess its little surprise, after all Dick WAS Robbin! We also got to see a slightly different side of the show, as we got to see some frontal nudity when Jason went for therapy from 2 performers at a sex show. Don't ask, just watch! Jason is goi

Episode 226 - He Hulking Exploded!
13/09/2021 Duración: 01h03minWelcome to Episode 226 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Matt Orrin and Midnight Mitch Jones) are virtually together to discuss all things geek. This week we have special guest, Piper Shepard, who does a bit of a deep dive into what shows she geeks out over! Other than RuPaul's Drag Race, which Piper was way into, we chatted a bunch about American Horror Story and it's many seasons. So many to watch, and some can cause fatigue as Piper talks about Asylum being the one for her that tested her ability to watch it. Which season was your favorite? Then, as we are wont to do, we talk about random things such as Woodstock 99, which was the Fyre Festival of it's time. It was definitely NO BUENO, from many standpoints. We jump back to the standards, such as What if...? and Titans. Check out the What if...? episode that has the Hulk exploding from the inside. It's pretty gnarly!

Episode 225 - Infinity Kidney Stones
01/09/2021 Duración: 01h11minWelcome to Episode 225 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Jeff, Matt Orrin and Midnight Mitch Jones) are virtually together to discuss all things geek. Evan Johnson maintains his geek cred by joining us on another episode, and sharing his controversial opinions! Not only does he give us his thoughts on the age old recliner chair conversation, he also tells us his thoughts on bad Xmen movies. Are Xmen movies like pizza, where even when they are bad they are still pretty good? Is retroactive goodwill a thing? We always talk about Mitch having it, but is it really a thing? Also, we talk about Michael Keaton films, as he reprised an old role recently, and we discuss our favorite film of his. What is yours? Episode 224 - Spidey Supreme
25/08/2021 Duración: 50minWelcome to Episode 224 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Matt Orrin and Midnight Mitch Jones) are virtually together to discuss all things geek. You're getting M&Ms this week, at least in the form of Matt and Mitch! Everyone is out on a secret mission so the two M's break down what they are watching. We start with the What if? show that is on Disney+, in which they take classic Marvel takes and posit how things would be if certain circumstances changed. For example, in the first episode, what if Peggy Carter took the super serum rather than Steve Rogers? In a future episode, what if T'Challa was found by Yondu and became Star Lord? There are ALL kinds of things that could have been in the MCU. Titans started their new season with a bang! Actually, it was a crowbar to the head, repeatedly, but you get the point. This season will be featuring the Red Hood, and if you

Episode 223 - Spice Bros!
20/08/2021 Duración: 58minWelcome to Episode 223 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Jake, Matt Orrin and Midnight Mitch Jones) are virtually together to discuss all things geek. Titans is back, and it comes with a vengeance! First episode should make fans very happy, as it shows us Red Hood. On top of that, Bruce Wayne exhibits some un-Bruce Wayne like behavior and it makes us question some things. A new character, named Tim, is introduced...could it be Tim Drake? Will we get a new Robin? Time will tell. Tell us what you want, what you really, really want...well, specifically which Spice Girl you had a crush on. We give our choices, as both Jake and Mitch were big fans of the Girls. Somehow, we make it to spiders and then maybe getting powers from a bite. Mitch doesn't think his frame could support Spidey powers. How about you? Could you not only handle the responsibility, but be able to suppo

Episode 222 - NECAphiliacs Unite!
17/08/2021 Duración: 55minWelcome to Episode 222 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Jake, Matt Orrin and Midnight Mitch Jones) are virtually together to discuss all things geek. Jake and Mitch geek out hard over Ninja Turtles news, with a new movie being written. We all take a deep dive into TMNT movies, comics, cartoons and anything else in a half shell! Of course, that forces us to rank them in whatever arbitrary order we deem fit. Michael Bay is involved, and that causes one of us to have a strong opinion. Any guess who? Hey there, Boo-Boo...Yogi is back on TV with ALL of his Hanna-Barbera buddies. The show is called Jellystone and it features all of your favorite characters, with new voices. It is on HBO Max. Episode 221 - Dictator Gillespie
06/08/2021 Duración: 55minWelcome to Episode 221 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Jeff, Jake, and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek. COUGAR Nation rejoice! Jay Gillespie, host of COUGAR Nights, and one-third of Ultra Sex Laser joins us as we talk about movie commentary. Jay loves listening to the director's commentary over some of his favorite movies. Why don't more people do that? We think a huge part has to do with streaming services not having the features available, as opposed to using physical media that has those extra features on it and readily accessible. Jay also shares his thoughts on music and prefers to have that media on drives rather than streaming services. Where do you fall on that? Last we try to connect ALL universes together, starting from the St. Elsewhere continuum. We've touched on this topic before, referencing the snow globe that ties everythin

Episode 220 - Major Ursa
02/08/2021 Duración: 01h09minWelcome to Episode 220 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jeff, Jake, and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek. We semi spoiler Black Widow, though not everyone has seen it yet. We talk more about the post credit scene, and the implications for the MCU down the line. HINT - If you watched Falcon & Winter Soldier then you would be pleased. The implications are that the Dark Avengers are on the way! They have the characters set up, so now the ball is in Disney's court to make the right decisions. We talk about Loki, because it was great, but it also brings up Kang. Though we didn't exactly GET Kang in Loki, we know that he is a variant of him and that Kang as we want him will eventually show up. In fact, he appears in Ant-Man & the Wasp next year and hopefully he messes stuff up! You can send your feedback and show topic ideas to bro

Episode 219 - Edging Geeks
28/07/2021 Duración: 01h01minWelcome to Episode 219 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jake, and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek. We start talking Black Widow but not much because Mitch hadn't seen it yet. Really, we only rated it and it rated well. We teased info that we felt weren't spoilers. Jake bought it on Disney+, which means he "owns" it...as long as he has an active D+ subscription. That seems kind of lame to us, but that's the world we are in. How do you feel about that? It's hard to stay too mad at Disney though because of all the delicious content they release. We do a small dive into the mid 90's with some of the movies at the time, especially ones that MattO hadn't watched, like Space Jam. Have you seen the new Space Jam movie? This inevitably leads us down a rabbit hole of old cartoons, like Tom & Jerry. Jake and Mitch debate whether Chuck Jon

Episode 218 - Loki Gets the Pokey!
19/07/2021 Duración: 50minWelcome to Episode 218 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jake, and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek. Loki is still the best thing playing right now and we are still talking about it. This last episode has our "hero" getting pruned. What happened to him? The show is almost done so we will see the big reveal, and we're hoping it's Kang. Did you TGIF back in the day? We talk about old shows that you might have watched on a Friday night, or any other week night. Shows like Tool Time, or Drew Carey show are highlighted. The Drew Carey show was WAY ahead of its time with a bunch of topics. You can send your feedback and show topic ideas to broadcastgeeks@gmail.com. Episode 217 - Momma Loki
14/07/2021 Duración: 01h08minWelcome to Episode 217 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Jeff, Mitch, and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek. Loki is still on our minds because we're trying to figure out what this show is up to! Is Sylvie the Entchantress and is this world being manipulated by Loki? Lots happening because there is only 6 episodes and we're halfway there, at this episode. Mitch has a theory about the lighting of this show. Because of Loki, we start to speculate about the future of the MCU...go figure, right? It makes us wonder who the smartest people in the Marvel U would be, and then will we see any of them in movies? We go over some lists of super smart characters. Is it Doom? Reed Richards? Peter Parker? Listen and find out! You can send your feedback and show topic ideas to broadcastgeeks@gmail.com. Follow us on Twitter @broadcastgeeks and on Instagram
