Phillip didn't have a whole lot of areas of ministry, but what he did do, what he was called to do, he did very well. We can learn how to be comfortable doing what we are called to and not becoming envious of what others do.

Stephen is brought into court for the miracles he did in the name of Jesus and gives a fantastic sermon inspired by the Holy Spirit!

As the church grows, other people are trained up and giving areas of ministry.

As the church began, the believers are said to hold the apostles in High Esteem. There is a reason why, and we look to find that out as we study chapter 5. We all desire to be esteemed by others, but are we willing to pay the price they did?

The passage in Acts here tells us that Ananias and Sapphira had their hearts filled by satan. How can satan fill the heart of a believer? It is not a question of can it happen, as it happened several other times that we are told of in the Word. We look at a few of those times as well so we can learn how NOT to leave the door to our heart open to the wrong source!

The problems bad leaders had when the church began is the same as the ones bad leaders have today. When leaders do not follow the way of God, they go in the way of the enemy and the signs are evident. Listen and see the comparison!

Looking at peter's sermon after the Spirit of God is poured out, we see that he quotes Joel's prophecy saying "this is that spoken by the prophet Joel." But when you compare what Peter says and what Joel wrote you will notice a word has been changed and it changes the application of the Joel prophecy. This is not an error on Peter's part, but the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to understand that the prophecy was intended for more then was understood.

In this letter to the church of Philadelphia, Jesus speaks to them of a door He has opened and no one can shut. Jesus has the power (strength) and key of David (authority) to open doors for His churches. It is then our responsibility to go thru them! What door has He opened for us?

Finishing up the letter to the church of Sardis, Jesus commanded them to do five things; Be Watchful and strengthen, remember, hold fast, and repent. In part one we focused on the first two, and in this one we examine the last three, Remember, hold fast, and repent.

It is said that Pergamos was one of if not the hardest cities to live in if you were a Christian. Here is a look at what they went thru and the moral and doctrinal decay working in their midst.

The church of Smyrna was one of the most persecuted churches of the day, and these are the Words of the head of the church to them. Some of the things they face were people assuming things against them without facts or investigation, and the hearers accepting the charges without any investigation. As we go thru what this church faced, you will see some of the same attitudes rising up today against the church. Though in a much smaller scale then that at Smyrna, we learn what to do and to be prepared should it grow worse.

Looking at the letter to the first of the seven churches - Ephesus. Size and influence are not as important to God as doing and holding to the things that He considers important.
