Minutes before we set out to record this podcast, the official title of Star Wars 7 was revealed via Twitter. Spoiler: It's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens". Way better than "Dawn of Justice," of course. Of course we had to talk about that. We also discussed Marvel's upcoming crossover events and wonder if it means we're looking at a "Crisis on Infinite Earths" style continuity reset. Finally, we have our first tentative discussion of our best of 2014 comics. Marvel's comics have always been known for a certain, shall we say Soap Opera-level convolution. But the confusing mishmash that is the Marvel Universe has nothing on the Soap Opera that is Marvel itself. This week, word broke, finally, that Marvel is canceling Fantastic Four. But the really crazy thing is that supposedly, they're doing it in order to screw over Fox's upcoming Fantastic Four reboot. Really? Maybe it's even true! We talk about that, as well as the even crazier rumors that Sony and Marvel might reach some kind of accord over Spider-Man. We also talk copyright law, and how and why DC's ownership of Superman appears to have been secured. Also, Ross makes a weird and boring digression to talk about Oscar Wilde. So Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming have been spilling tons of news about casting for the upcoming Sony/PSN Powers TV series and the good news is that it's completely outside the box. Both awesome and surprisingly inclusive, it's an amazing example of casting the right actors rather than rigidly adhering to what the characters are supposed to look like in the comics. So we spend about a million years talking about that, and powers in general. We also wind up talking about Watership Down as well as the ongoing "Death of Wolverine" storyline in Marvel Comics.
