Why Great Guitar Teachers Are Rare
20/01/2015 Duración: 33minFor a free copy of the ebook 'The Essential Guide To Teaching Guitar' visit http://bit.ly/GuitarTeacherWanted In this podcast I go through my top 5 reasons why I believe great guitar teachers are rare. Great teaching is a skill that can be mastered but most never reach a level of mastery. I don't claim to be a master by the way and never will. I will always view myself as a student but I do recognise mastery in others and I do strive for it. Having studied the topic of teaching, coaching, leadership etc for almost three decades has given me an acute awareness of what defines great teaching. No one knows it all and there are many different strengths a great teacher could possess but, the five reasons I discuss seem to be present with most great teachers I have come across.

The right way to get student referrals
17/12/2014 Duración: 29minFor a free copy of the ebook 'The Essential Guide To Teaching Guitar' visit http://bit.ly/GuitarTeacherWanted This can be a tricky subject. Simon Sinek author of the book ‘Start With Why’ goes into great detail about manipulations. A manipulation is anything you do to sell a service or product that is not actually associated with your why or reason for being in business. In other words we are selling the dream of playing guitar. Our offering is a structured method for learning guitar that will help people achieve that dream efficiently. Nothing more, nothing less. If what we offer matches what we deliver (consistency) people are happy and word will naturally spread through the community. The reason word spreads is because consistency is actually very rare and anything rare becomes valuable and generally talked about.
