This week’s guest Juli McGowan Boit is an NP, author, and the founder of The Living Room International. With a passion for HIV and AIDS treatment, Juli went on a short trip to Kenya to pursue her passion and fell in love! After she finished up her schooling Juli moved to Kenya for what she thought would be a year--but that was in 2004! As an RN both in Kenya and California, Juli opened a self-sufficient in-patient hospice. While The Living Room International relies on grants and fundraising to operate, Juil and her team have opened up other businesses to provide a steady flow of income. Juli mentions that one of their most successful projects is a community funeral home! Juli is also the author of From Beyond The Skies, which was inspired by caring for her adoptive children, three of whom have sickle cell disease.
