Most people default to short-term thinking. They need a mentor or someone to encourage them to think bigger and to think longer term. But I have the opposite problem. I tend to think long-term by default. Long-term thinking is good, but you can't only focus on the long-term. If you do, you'll run your business into the ground. Why? Because you need cash. Cash is oxygen. Long-term thinking is a privilege. It's not something you're entitled to. You have to earn the right to think long-term. I didn't know this. I had to make mistakes and learn the hard way. Finally, someone else told me.
