Faith vs. Fear - Powerful Choices - Podcast #84
15/12/2017 Duración: 11minFaith and Fear - both have the "unknown" quality. We don't know what will happen for sure, its unseen, we have to spend our time, efforts & energies thinking about either one. Jeff Lip shared this quote with me: "Faith and fear require the not knowing aspect. Why not choose faith instead of fear?" - Brent Payne I love the challenge of this - focusing on Faith instead of Fear. We all know that fears are all around us - it's human nature to be fearful. I think it's necessary to have some fear in order to become fearless. What are your thoughts? I know this might be a little uncomfortable to think about... but I know for me, it's more than worth it. :-)

Reflections - Student questions & A Classic Movie - Podcast #81
09/12/2017 Duración: 12minLooking back - it's something we can't do too often as there is the fact that we cannot live in the past. But - we can look back to remember things, to remember people and the lessons we learned that helped get us to where we are today. Well, from starting a new school term - I've been able to reflect a little bit as students have asked me questions as part of my get to know them campaign that I start out every new class with. And while answering some of these questions , I had on the movie "A League Of Their Own" - the baseball move about women playing baseball during WWII. Talk about a tear-jerker in a couple of parts along with tons of smiles and laughs.... which is what life is all about... that movie always gets me thinking about my past and how I got to where I am today. Reflecting back and remembering where you came from is something that I think we should never forget. Our past is our best mentor - the value of those lessons that we can always draw back on - those ar

Just Breath & Other Great Lessons - Podcast #78
02/12/2017 Duración: 13minWow - busy couple of days - but busy with some good stuff. One was not really titled GOOD - getting oral surgery? Not a fun thing to sign up for - but necessary to fix a problem and improve. The experience was painful for sure - but the lessons that came out of it were pure gold! The surgeon = top notch, not only at his craft of oral surgery - but the way he also treated me, talked to me, explained things to me, listened to me and the list goes on and on as to the positive experiences with this man. Also, his assistant - talk about a difference maker - this young lady helped me so much, answering questions, taking care of me during the procedure and offering the some of the most valuable words ever: JUST BREATH! She could tell I was getting a little bit worked up (clenching my fists, grabbing my thumb on one hand as I was trying to deal with the pain from the shots to numb my entire top part of my mouth) and she reminded me about the importance to just breath. I have used those 2 words with so m
