Lessons From Vacation On Time Flying By - Podcast #182
23/07/2018 Duración: 10minMore lessons from our recent little get-away to Traverse City, Michigan. These lessons came from eating out and visiting a place that our family stayed at for years. Eating a great breakfast at a classic place called Sparky's Diner - http://m.sparkysdinertc.com/#2513 Great music and great breakfasts - along with a valuable lesson just watching people when the song by Bob Dylan -" Knock, knock, knocking on Heaven's Door" came on. Amazing clarity came to me about how fast time is going by - for me, you, all of us. Then our visit to the North Shore Inn - http://www.northshoreinn.net/ A place that we stayed at for about 18 years with our family and my in-laws too - fantastic visit there to watch another sunset and both my wife and I were treated to some emotional and fantastic memories of just being there again. I hope you enjoyed this episode on some things that mean a lot to me. Thanks for listening. Please take a few moments to subscribe & share this with someone, also leave

Lessons From Wineries - On Vacation - Podcast #181
20/07/2018 Duración: 09minIt's always great to get away on a vacation to places we enjoy. My wife and I really enjoy going up North here in Michigan - the Traverse City area to be specific. They have so many wineries that we enjoy going to and many of them we are visiting for the first time. Three of them I mentioned today and the lessons that each of them brought. First was a young man named Benjamin at the Laurentide Winery - https://laurentidewinery.com/index.asp A young man that grew up in the area and stayed to work in an area that he is passionite about. He had great enthusiasm and did a great job with the customers that he was helping. He was a very personable young man. Another one that we stopped at was the Verterra Winery - https://www.verterrawinery.com/ This is where we had a great visit with Matt. A very down to earth & personable former teacher that is now working on his second career. Fantastic converstation with Matt and many lessons learned from him too on looking ahead to new adventures.

Lessons From A Guy Named Paul - Podcast #180
18/07/2018 Duración: 08minThere are always lessons to be found in everyday life. Remember that success always leaves clues, we just have to be ready to pick up those clues. Most of them can be found just by watching & listening. The lessons from a gas station attendant - his name is Paul - and I have watched and listened to him for years, I've even talked to him a few times. He is such a nice guy and the way he treats others is amazing! Every time I get gas for our cars at our local Costco - I always hope he's working. There are lessons every day from this guy and how he interacts with people. Once again, I need to learn from him so that I can be a better version of me. We all need to be better versions of ourselves. Thanks for listening. We Can Be Inspired With & Without Tragedies - Podcast #179
16/07/2018 Duración: 11minThis is a personal one for me and I hope it is for you too. These two podcasts spoke right to my heart and like many stories before (through other podcasts, books, videos, movies, articles, blog posts, etc.) I keep getting reminded about working harder, becoming better, doing more, helping others more, etc. I don't want to just look to improve because of a sad & tragic story! I NEED to look to do more & get better each and every day without having these stories to remind me. Both podcasts (and many others) are from John O'Leary. Check out the first one here: http://johnolearyinspires.com/2018/07/live-inspired-podcast-s9-ep-90-apollo-13-commander-jim-lovell/ A great interview with one of the first men in space - a guy who came from having not much at all to being on top of the world. A great story of overcoming, dreaming, hard work, believing in yourself - so many great lessons. The second one is here: http://johnolearyinspires.com/2018/07/live-inspired-podcast-s9-ep-89-the-m

1999 Open at Carnoustie - Lessons From A Memorable Collapse - Podcast #177
12/07/2018 Duración: 13minWith the 2018 Open Championship being played at Carnoustie in Scotland, it is bringing up an important history lessons that happened in 1999. Jan van de Velde from France was a big part of that memory / lesson with his epic collapse in the final round of this tournament. Check out this video on exactly how things went down 19 years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QV8Qj91T3o0 It is so intriguing to watch and learn how he responded to his loss. The lessons are so valuable. Summer time also is when there Wimbledon tennis - a fantastic & historical tournament with players in it from so many different countries. This summer is also an every 4 year tradition of the World Cup Soccer tournament - with again, more great lessons & the kind of drama that I really love. Just think - even if you don't like these sports or any sport for that matter - the lessons can still be used for all of life. If you were to work as hard like so many of these athletes do; on things that you want to do, thi

Family Reunion & Don't Ever Forget Where You Came From - Podcast #171
02/07/2018 Duración: 13minGreat weekend with a quick trip back to western New York with my parents and my son for a little family reunion. So many laughs, great stories, fantastic memories, and some great sights seen all tied into our family. I think it's so crucial for all of us to find some time - this summer or really any time... that we can spend it with family. Especially older family members that we need to talk with and listen to, along with learning from. Once those older family members are gone - so too are all the stories, lessons, memories, etc., unless we get them shared. I've heard it so many times - it is so crucial to always remember where you came from. Please understand that where you are today - a lot of it came from the sacrifices and choices made by those that came before you. Would love to hear some stories about family reunion times, family tree stories too. It's all important to find out - don't keep putting off the opportunities you have with family and friends. Lessons from Sam, John & The World Cup - Podcast #168
26/06/2018 Duración: 07minVery interesting day – some good stuff that came my way today. First of all, I was listening to my buddy Sam Crowley’s podcast (Everydayissaturday.com) and he reminded me about “where focus goes, energy flows.” This is something that I needed to hear today. Lot’s of discussion in our family recently on things dealing with time and money. Normally I tend to lean towards the same negative and fearful responses I’ve always seem to have about these topics… but not today. This different mindset about having my focus looking towards new opportunities and the positive changes – it’s starting to make a difference. John O’Leary’s podcast (JohnOlearyinspires.com) brings up about simplifying life – in ALL areas of our lives, not just with our possessions. Right before I recorded this message I was watching the World Cup – Argentina beating Nigeria…. Great passion, tons of pressure and teamwork along with country pride. Again, these messages I needed to hear for sure. Hope this show gives you some ideas to make s
