  • The Older I Get - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Tue. 5-14-24 #1245

    14/05/2024 Duración: 09min

A good friend and mentor of mine, Coach Rich Popp came through with another thought to chew on a bit - “The older I get, the simpler life is.  1.  Get along with others.  2.  Give 100% in all you do.  3.  Make well thought out and educated decisions.  Yes, simple. Life is good.  Peace.”  Simple for sure to understand, yet I (maybe you too) still have to put effort into these and it’s not always easy, since other things always seem to get in the way.  I think that is what makes us all human.  I’m always working on these things and others too, trying to live my best life.  Hopefully you are doing the same.  Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to subscribe & share this with someone, also leave a 5 Star rating on Apple Podcasts and ITunes or other services where you find this show.  Find me on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/coachtoexpectsuccess/   on Twitter / “X”:  @coachtosuccess   and on Instagram at:  @coachjohndaly  - My YouTube Channel is at: Coach John Daly.   Email me at: CoachJohnDa

  • Powerful Discovery & Reminder - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Mon. 5-13-24 #1244

    13/05/2024 Duración: 05min

Found another great post and it goes with a recent theme, about always looking to get better.  There are tons of great lessons out there for us to learn from, be reminded of, and to implement into our lives.  This one is from a big voice from the past, William James reminds us about the importance of the fact that we get to choose our own attitude.  This is for all of us. Email me at: CoachJohnDalyPodcast@gmail.com     You can also head on over to https://www.coachtoexpectsuccess.com/ and get in touch with me there on my homepage along with checking out my Top Book list too.  Other things there on my site are being worked on too

  • Good People - Motivation Monday Game Plan - #1243

    13/05/2024 Duración: 05min

I saw a post recently from Coach AJ (@coachajkings) where he shared some thoughts from George Kittle, and he said, "I'm a big believer that you surround yourself with good people which brings the best out of you." Surround yourself with people who: • Want what's best for you. • Believe in you. • Challenge you. • Support you. • Inspire you.  This is something we all can not only learn from, but also we can look to be the same for others too. Imagine having a bunch of people in your life, where these points are at the very foundation of the relationships you have.   Good stuff for all of us here. Email me at:

  • Aggressive Patience - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Fri. 5-10-24 #1242

    10/05/2024 Duración: 11min

I recently got the chance to listen to another fabulous & powerful podcast from Ben Newman - The Burn Podcast.  Click HERE for this episode.  He was sharing some golden coaching lessons where for him was having Ed Mylett asking the hard questions to him and wondering am I doing the right things.  Ben said  “...we are never finished. It’s an “own it” mentality every day!  It’s understanding that your success in life is long obedience in the same direction with aggressive patience.”  The importance of having others help us.  Having coaches & mentors help us through life.  It helps to bring the truth out for all to see and understand - nobody gets through life alone!  I also had a big revelation or reflection this morning reading from “The Traveler’s Gift” by Andy Andrews - my reading from yesterday - the 4th Decision for Success is "I have a decided heart.”  For me, it’s all about helping others & making a difference for others - especially young students & athletes, teachers and coaches.

  • Let These Go - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Thur. 5-9-24 #1241

Alan Stein Jr. (@AlanSteinJr) comes through again with a list of things for us to just kind of let go of.  He’s right, when you start looking at some of these things he brings up - it does change our “game” and how we play it.  This is a powerful Top 10 style list - find the image over on my Twitter / X feed and on my Facebook page too.  If you start with only one of these, I think you will find some peace and joy a bit more often. Email me at: CoachJohnDalyPodcast@gmail.com     You can also head on over to https://www.coachtoexpectsuccess.com/ and get in touch with me there on my homepage along with checking out my Top Book lis

  • Shift Our Focus - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Wed. 5-8-24 #1240

    08/05/2024 Duración: 05min

Alan Stein Jr. (@AlanSteinJr) had a couple of things posted that caught my eye. This first one is right on target about being aware of where our focus is going when dealing with people.  He mentions: “When you can shift your focus to what you want FOR people instead of what you want FROM people, it's an absolute game changer.” One of his famous sayings is here too:  “A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.”   It’s powerful to imagine more people focusing on these points and the great things that can happen for people when we take these views and put them into play in life. Email me at: CoachJohnDalyPodcast@gmail.

  • T.O.U.G.H. Enough? - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Tues. 5-7-24 #1239

    07/05/2024 Duración: 07min

I found this post from The Winning Difference (@thewinningdiff1) and it really hit home for me.  It’s asking are we T.O.U.G.H. enough with each of the letters standing for something connected to the skills and abilities that we need throughout life (and in sports too).  These got me thinking as I looked in the mirror as I’m standing in my living room recording studio.  Things like this help me to keep striving to get better and improve and I hope the same is for you. Email me at: CoachJohnDalyPodcast@gmail.com     You can also head on over to https://www.coachtoexpectsuccess.com/ and get in touch with me there on my homepage alo

  • Pile Up Wins - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Mon. 5-6-24 #1238

    06/05/2024 Duración: 05min

Powerful Monday thought coming from Jon Gordon (@jongordon11) and it is under his “#MindsetMonday” marker.  He shares this thought about winning the day!  “Don’t worry about tomorrow.  Just win today and the next day and the day after that. That’s how you win the future. Day by day.”  I shared this on Twitter / X for being a simple formula.  “Pile up WINS.  Even the little ones that nobody sees or knows about - but you will know.”  Taking care of things every day, little things matter too… where we tell ourselves we are going to do something - we need to do it!  Pile up wins and that way our days get better (weeks and months do too).  Then remember, our pasts become better too.  When we lean on our pasts as our own best personal mentor, good things can come from this too.  We start having much better “self talks” with ourselves because we can remind ourselves that we followed through with things and we are worthy of great things happening.  Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to subscribe & s

  • Fingerprints - Motivation Monday Game Plan - #1237

    06/05/2024 Duración: 03min

Listening to John O’Leary’s Podcast for today and it sure got me thinking about some things.  If you have followed me for any length of time, you know that John’s “Live Inspired Podcast” connects with me in a powerful way.  Listen to this episode titled, “Fingerprints Don’t Fade” - find it HERE.  He reminds us about his story and the “fingerprints” that healthcare workers (namely nurses) leave on their patients as far as the care & love shown to them in their time of need.  He recalls the story of when he was in the hospital after his burn accident where he recalls a very powerful moment when a nurse saved his life again, simply by being there and doing her job when the hospital lost power and his incubator was not working.  Amazing stories here.  But this got me thinking really on how all of us leave “fingerprints” with those that are in our lives - no matter what our occupation is.  If we can remember this, maybe we might be more intent on making sure we are more positive, caring, patient, etc., with th

  • Extreme Accountability - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Fri. 5-3-24 #1236

    03/05/2024 Duración: 09min

Saw a great post from Damon West (@damonwest7) - remember, he’s the co-author of “The Coffee Bean” with Jon Gordon (@jongordon11).  This powerful reminder comes with a video too… check it out HERE.  Some reminders for all of us that we all can take “extreme ownership” in our lives that can help us to own our mistakes and to get us thinking better.  Awesome lesson to not only remind ourselves about, but to also share with others. Email me at: CoachJohnDalyPodcast@gmail.com     You can also head on over to https://www.coachtoexpectsuccess.com/ and get in touch with me there on my homepage along with checking out my Top Book list t

  • Have A Decided Heart - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Thur. 5-2-24 #1235

    02/05/2024 Duración: 08min

Leaning on “The Traveler’s Gift” by Andy Andrews again.  I know that I lean on things like this a lot when recording these episodes, but to me when I read one of the lessons - I’m in a different spot in life and the message I get hits me differently.  That different reason is something that I usually need to think differently about and maybe you do too.  Having a decided heart is something I need to work on every day, not just Thursdays.  Creating a new habit of facing problems or issues and not putting them off, is something I know I can get better at and I am working towards doing that.  Hope you are too. Email me at: CoachJo

  • A Great Conversation - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Wed. 5-1-24 #1234

    01/05/2024 Duración: 10min

I had a great conversation yesterday with a very good friend Jodie, and we got talking about some reflective thoughts that we both have been dealing with. The posts that I saw online today fell hand-in-hand with it. And it inspired me to share these with you to hopefully find a way where we can give ourselves a little more grace and compassion, with doing the things we need to do in life. Hope you enjoy it. Make sure you check out the show notes below, so you can connect with the posts I was talking about. Email me at: CoachJohnDalyPodcast@gmail.com     You can also head on over to https://www.coachtoexpectsuccess.com/ and get i

  • The Value of Wisdom - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Tues. 4-30-24 #1233

    30/04/2024 Duración: 11min

Very cool morning today (not just temperature wise), where I found 3 connections to a message I wanted to share with you. First came a post that I saw on Twitter / X, where Bri Lewerke  (@brilewerke) shared a clip about how “The way Erica Wheeler is looking out for Caitlin Clark is everything.” It’s about an older, more experienced player helping a younger player and where both of them put ego aside to be their best for each other and their team.  I then listened to Mitch Albom’s “Tuesday People” podcast with his friend & producer Lisa Goich, and today’s podcast Episode 202 (find it HERE)  where they talk about the more experienced actors helping the younger ones in the play about “Tuesdays With Morrie”.  Mitch makes a great connection with just about all the different play productions around the world, where the older actor (playing Morrie) and the younger actor (playing Mitch), develop this very strong friendship - exactly how it happened for the real Mitch and Morrie.  Wisdom being shared with younger

  • Focus On The Trail - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Mon. 4-29-24 #1232

    29/04/2024 Duración: 05min

Picking the brain of Jon Gordon again (@JonGordon11) and he shares a story about going hiking and some of the things his guide shared with him about how important it is to focus on each step.  Only how Jon can do, taking that message and being able to apply the lessons to everyday life.  Here is just a sliver of what he posted:  “What a great lesson for all of us! When you are on the trail, only focus on the trail. When you are with your family, focus on them, not work.  When you are at work, focus on your work. When you are with your kids, focus on them, not your cell phone. When you are at an in-person meeting, don’t be on your laptop. Be engaged in the meeting.”  Good stuff that I’m taking with me on my journey and I hope you do the same.  Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to subscribe & share this with someone, also leave a 5 Star rating on Apple Podcasts and ITunes or other services where you find this show.  Find me on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/coachtoexpectsuccess/   on Twi

  • Duty To Encourage - Motivation Monday Game Plan - #1231

    29/04/2024 Duración: 09min

From the book “The Traveler’s Gift” by Andy Andrews - from the 3rd Decision for Success - “I am a person of action”, comes this important reminder about Leadership.  “As a leader, I have the ability to encourage and inspire others to greatness.”  I have some notes written all over this book and the note near this underlined sentence that I wrote is “it’s really a duty to do this. I must also encourage myself.”  Another note that I wrote is that “there is a HUGE need in the world for leaders (focusing in on Character and Serving.)   To me, it’s just a great reminder that since we are leaders for ourselves first, that we need to fit into that it’s a duty to encourage & inspire others including ourselves.  It’s not enough that we have the ability to do these, I think it’s a must for us to do these.  Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to subscribe & share this with someone, also leave a 5 Star rating on Apple Podcasts and ITunes or other services where you find this show.  Find me on Faceboo

  • Past Mistakes - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Fri. 4-26-24 #1230

    26/04/2024 Duración: 08min

Learning from others is key in life and for me, it’s added joy that I always learn from many of my former students.  A recent post from one of them caught my eye, mainly because I probably needed to apply it to my own life.  She posted a very true statement:  “Your past mistakes are meant to guide you, not define you. Love yourself a little extra today.”  I needed that lesson again and it came at a great time too.  Also once again, the teacher became the student. Email me at: CoachJohnDalyPodcast@gmail.com     You can also head on over to https://www.coachtoexpectsuccess.com/ and get in touch with me there on my homepage along

  • Define Your Own Success - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Thur. 4-25-24 #1229

    25/04/2024 Duración: 03min

I caught a couple of posts from Alan Stein, Jr. (@AlanSteinJr) that got me reflecting on a couple of things.  The two posts were:  “Define your own success” and “A key to inner peace is figuring out what you truly value and disregarding everything else.”  Both of these are connected since we have the control over our own success (and what that definition is) along with what we really value in life.  So much of the world wants to define these for us and then make us feel horrible when we don’t do that.  Lot’s of reminders for me recently that both of these are up to me.  For you, they are up to you - not the world. Email me at: C

  • Got To Make This Choice - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Wed. 4-24-24 #1228

    24/04/2024 Duración: 12min

Reading my daily dose of John Maxwell and from a couple of days ago this message was one that I had to share with you.  It’s all about the reminder that growth is a choice for all of us.  The big thing is that change happens all the time, every day, whether we like it or not and whether we want it to or not.  Everyone has to deal with it.  Now growth, there is something that we all have a choice about.  It’s totally optional.  It’s totally up to us to choose to look to grow and get better.  It’s something that we can do little things every day that will add up to some major things later in life.  The choice is clear for me.  How about for you?  Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to subscribe & share this with someone, also leave a 5 Star rating on Apple Podcasts and ITunes or other services where you find this show.  Find me on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/coachtoexpectsuccess/   on Twitter / “X”:  @coachtosuccess   and on Instagram at:  @coachjohndaly  - My YouTube Channel is at: Coa

  • You Are A Coach - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Tue. 4-23-24 #1227

    23/04/2024 Duración: 06min

I did a little bit deeper reflecting on what "The Daily Coach" is all about and this caught more of my attention to share with you.  “The most important person you’ll ever coach is yourself.  The goal of #TheDailyCoach is to provide a daily hands-on approach to becoming a better leader.   Whether you’re an executive, teacher, or parent... EVERYONE is a coach.”  This is total truth.  We do indeed “coach” ourselves for sure.  The more we can connect to things in our life that mean something to us, the more we can encourage ourselves to keep investing in ourselves to be our best!!  That will add so much value to our lives along with the lives of everyone we are connected with.  BIG shoutout to Coach Dave Ruekert for a phone call to me this morning to help inspire my day and this episode.   Find more out about The Daily Coach - HERE.  Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to subscribe & share this with someone, also leave a 5 Star rating on Apple Podcasts and ITunes or other services wher
