The long and short of it is that the three of us started getting together every Wednesday morning to drink coffee, take a break and figure out how we were going to make an impact (and how we could work together to do so). We called it 'Solving the World's Problems Coffee Hour'. We chatted about all kinds of ideas: research, new workouts, combining things, and crazy ideas we heard on podcasts.Then it dawned on us. We should start a podcast. Yep, that is how we thought we might be able to make a dent into the worlds problems (it all starts with a dent, right?) So here we are now. Several months of planning, brainstorming and politely asking Kyle's friend Justin (the awesome AV guy) if he could help us out. So what it's all about is that Clinically Pressed is going to be a traveling podcast and we will be recording on location. We are going to interview experts around the country from all health/nutrition/performance professions as well as include round table discussions covering major topics and questions. Our goal is to provide as much information as we can that is useful to viewers/listeners, and do it all at no cost. We want to make the complicated simple and make it something you can apply to your life. We hope you enjoy!

Alex fills us in on everything that they do there to help encourage the best training and care for any UFC Fighter that wants to train there. We also discuss Alex’s work on his thesis around weight cutting and all the different factors that play into that aspect of combat sports. Along with that Josh owns Ninja Anywhere which is a traveling Ninja Warrior course that you can try your best at and see how you stack up against some of the best.  In this episode we talk about physical medicine and therapy and how it can be so beneficial to people and that just because an injury occurs doesn’t mean it is the end of the world. Josh explains that there are so many things you can do and work on when it comes it comes to exercises to get started on the process back to health and it isn’t always a complete shut down and reboot.   • REPLAY: Research Review: Exercise Snacks

    This research review looks at a study that utilized “research snacks” to see the effects on insulin, glucose and free fatty acids after melas throughout the day. These “snacks” consisted of ascending 3 flights of stairs as fast as possible every hour throughout the day. Each time would take between 10-20s. The results showed that for an overweight and obese group there was a decrease in insulin and free fatty acid levels, no changes in these levels occurred in a healthy group.
