Ahhhh finally, the protagonist we’ve all been waiting for- Roseanne as a COW, has arrived to aggravate a very happy farm! We’re joined by our friends Katie, Maddie, and Chloe of the New New Adventures of Mary-Kate and Ashley podcast and head out on a cattle drive clusterfunk of unnecessary exposition and too many villains. FINALLY a movie passes the Bechdel test with flying colors, yet that triumph is buried under a manure pile of forced jokes and fabricated drama.

Disney super buff John Roiniotis (@NerdyBatman) joins us along a beautiful aurora borealis made of spirits for Brother Bear.

The delightful Patrick McDonald hops aboard a flying space vessel as we navigate alien slugs and bugs with cyber punk Jim Hawkins, blubbering Dr. Doppler, and badass Captain Amelia (A WOMAN!!?!???) on our way to the promised land of folk fame, Treasure Planet! Patrick shares some TOP NOTCH comedy ideas he wrote as a young fan of the film, while science fiction and legend combine to offer a beautiful spacescape, thrilling action, and SPACE PORTALS!

The effervescent Lilan Bowden joins us on the beach for Lilo & Stitch! Disney takes it back to the old school with deep heartfelt relationships hand drawn over watercolor backgrounds...combined with ALIENS! Lilo, a troubled bully who loves Elvis, just wants a friend and meets her match in Stitch, as the two leave a trail of chaos in their little waddling wakes. Classic comedy gags abound as we feel deeply for poor Nani, while also stressing the f out over Lilo’s safety.

The submarine’s furnished, crew’s set, and this impressive vessel’s ready to take off NOW! Great news, they FIND the city practically immediately and now have 70 more minutes to fill. Wow, Atlantis looks a lot like Pandora and- what’s that, supreme beings INHABIT this lost city!?

The wonderfully fun Veronica Osorio (@verovidetta ) travels to the land of... somewhere generally in Latin America with us to discover how spoiled Prince Kuzco loses his groove, then gains it back as a LLAMA!

The hilarious Mike “Box” Elder (@BoxAngeles) joins us as we go way-way back to the year 2000, when dinosaurs roamed the earth. Dinos were hot in the late 90s and early 00’s, so Disney takes a stab at differentiating their version by making sure there are no distinguishing features, colors, characters, or story lines in the film.

The year is 1999 and Disney’s ready to dig back in to the concept of that famous flop, Fantasia (1940), but this time with the new modern computer generated imagery of the year 2000 *fanfare ensues.* Katelyn Hempstead (@katelynhempstea) joins us with whimsical summaries of all brand new shorts. All, except for that unsinkable stalwart The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, which is still just good and fine.

As we come to the end of the Disney 90s renaissance, The Three Mouseketeers reflect on their own immersive connection to these films. The 90s offered no shortage of toys, housewares, and video games that let us live out our favorite stories beyond the 90 minutes on the screen. Which toys and collectibles do you remember? Come stop your crying, it’ll be alright, even though we’ve come to the end of the Disney renaissance. Phil Collins decrees that no longer shall disney musicals be sung by the characters in them, but by an overarching godlike figure (Phil Collins), or maybe more of a dad figure...to SOME of us. We have a hoot of a time discussing the hot, hot jungle genre and touch on Tarzan’s grooming techniques, Kerchak’s overbearing masculinity, and how Jane should seek professional help.

Family, honor, spirits, ancestors, warriors, dragons, REFLECTION- we’re talkin’ Mulan (1998) with writer, podcaster, and Disney fan Lindsay Katai (@lindsaykatai), baby! Badass misfit, Mulan, finds herself wrapped up in a 12th night situation in the middle of a WAR. We fall for Mulan as she falls for Shang, but we wish we saw him fall back for Mulan, who really only wants to fall for her reflection once it shows who she is inside- it’s complicated.

Mark David Christenson (@hobbit138) takes us zero to classic hero’s journey with Hercules. This films got it all: Action! Adventure! Romance! Conflated Greek mythology! We happen upon the similarities between Hercules and Superman as well as other superhero origin stories. Once again, Alan Menken’s music rocks and so does Meg, our sassy and independent female lead- not to be mistaken for an ingenue.

We enter the hellfire that is The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996) with Lorraine DeGraffenreidt (@lorrrrraine). Hot DAMN. Hitler of Disney, Frollo, locks away his forced ward, the “half-formed” Quasimodo, in a bell tower as he goes on a rampage hunting Gypsies. Although we feel abused by this dark tale, Esmeralda’s dazzling green eyes and beautiful melodies carry us through.

We watch Pocahontas and run the hidden pine trails of the forest with Grandmother Willow himself, content creator Curly Velasquez (@CurlyVee)! We have a lot to discuss with this one including tradition, colonialism, entitlement, love at first sight, and how FIERCE Pocahontas is. Her sparkly wind feather aura enchants us all as we sing along to some truly flawless sequences and questionable historical accuracy.

We’re joined by Queens Chloe Schildhause (@Chloish) and Coop Foster (@this_is_coop on insta) and are blown away by the grandeur of The Lion King. This film takes every level TO THE NEXT LEVEL. We admire the deep relationships, perfectly cast characters, and slick storytelling told under a BREATHTAKING skyscape. We uncover the BOMBSHELL that Black Panther and The Lion King are the same movie!

True diamond in the rough, Mano Agapion (@manoagapion) meets us in the cave of wonders (aka the vault) to share the excitement, fantasy, confusing wish logic, and blatant classism in ruby of the Disney renaissance, Aladdin! A charming streetrat, saucy princess, endearing sultan, and power-hungry villain weave a perfectly tangled love story set to catchy tunes. THEN Robin Williams appears and bing, bang, BOOM, baby- we’re off on a spectacular carpet ride!

Disney aficionado and magical human Tara Copeland (@Tara_Copeland) joins us to marvel at and dissect what MIGHT be the crown jewel of Disney’s renaissance. Gorgeous sweeping vistas, layered characters, driving descriptive songs, developmental montages, and fantastic choreography, the movie musical is HERE, baby!

We find improv guru and seasoned podcaster Will Hines (@willhines) in the vault and down under for the exciting SEQUEL to the ...mmm...under...exciting Rescuers. Ruggedly strong outback kid and friend to the animals, Cody, gets kidnapped by a seriously vicious poacher, who has endless traps and insults for his prisoners and pet iguana thing. Our old friends Bianca and Bernard are tasked to save him and enlist the help of a new albatross Wilbur...who’s VERY reminiscent of his brother Orville...

The exuberant Santina Muha joins us and a bunch of YOU in the vault for a special LIVE episode! We dive into the world of bangin’ mer-bods for the first full fledged Disney musical and revel in the intricacies of this beloved film. We don’t see it all through rose colored glasses, however, as we discuss agency, feminism, and the whacked relationship ideals in this movie.
