Rated G For Gamers

Sony drops their August State of Play and there's some good surprises in there. We get gameplay of Godfall, Hitman VR gets announced and a Braid remaster is coming. Also in the news, Rocksteady is working on a Suicide Squad game and Microsoft's xCloud is launching in September amid Sony and Apple rejecting their app. All that and Dave recounts his brief flirtation with game development oh so many years ago.

After a polarizing gameplay demo during the Xbox Games Showcase, 343 Studios addresses the graphics in Halo Infinite and clarifies it's take on multiplayer and microtransactions. Also in the news, a big Nintendo leak reveals Luigi was going to be in Super Mario 64 and 2K's upcoming football game will have actual player names and likenesses. And at the end of the show, Dan quizzes Dave on his Mario knowledge.

At the top of the show, Dan and Dave discuss the ending of the Last of Us and what they've been playing. In the news, Microsoft shows us some Xbox Series X gameplay in their latest presentation, Sony shuts down rumors of Xbox Game Pass on Playstation and G4TV will return to your televison. We're back with your monthly Saturday Morning Retro show. This month Dan and Dave discuss Twisted Metal for the PS1, Tetris Battle Gaiden for the Super Famicom, Little Big Planet for the PS3 and Enslaved - Odyssey to the West for the Xbox 360. Also this month in history, arguably the most influential console of all time got release in 1983 and Dan and Dave realize another famous console got released in the same year, same month and even the same day! Ubisoft has their first of two E3 content presentations, Ubisoft Forward. Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Farcry 6, Watch Dogs Legion and more were on display. Dan and Dave discuss their thoughts. We get whiff of a price hike for next games from a NBA 2K21 listing, EVO Online cancelled due to scandal with CEO, IGN's Summer of Games brings over 60 game demos to Xbox One this month and Sony pushes their indie games initiative. Dan shares his 4th of July plans and Dave laments the heat on episode 225 of Rated G for Gamers.

As of this recording, Sony is set for a big presentation on June 4th? Will they show the console? What games will be on display? Will Dan get a Vita 2? Only time will tell. Finally we get some show stopping next gen footage. Epic debuts the Unreal 5 engine on PS5 hardware and wows the internet. Rated G discusses what this means for next gen. Microsoft's been making all the first moves. Console reveal, system teardown, now the first next gen gaming showcase for the Series X. Dan and Dave weigh with their thoughts on the whole quarantine style presentation. Also in the news, more confirmed cancelled conventions, Mortal Kombat 11 gets all friendly and Nic Cage may just be playing the Tiger King!

The day has come folks! Our resident RPG hater has come around and seen the light. Dan loves the FFVII Remake, both of your hosts do. It's an amazing remake, perhaps the best and they discuss at the top of the show. In the news, Ubisoft announces a viking themed Assassin's Creed game, Geoff Keighley has a massive game fest planned for the summer and the summer GDC is now going all digital.

We're getting dangerously close to what would be E3 time and the rumors keep swirling. Sony is rumored to reveal more on the PS5 come may, Metroid Prime Trilogy remake gets leaked and Google Stadia plans to have a presentation as this episode drops. All that and Reggie swoops in to fix Gamestop and get them back on track.

At the top of the show, some said news last week. Voice actors from Resident Evil and Star Fox franchises pass. Also, Microsoft is possibly planning 2 events to display the Series X games and system and get fans hype, a Crysis remaster announced and Resident Evil 4 may get yet another remake for current or next gen consoles.
