Dr. Hankes, a veteran and former flight surgeon, was among 100 pioneer physicians who passed the first certification exam in Addiction Medicine. He’s a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr. Hankes is a professor emeritus at the University of Washington School of Medicine. Dr. Hankes shares some of the science behind addiction and how it affects the brain.
