I’ve got music and a shoulder… As this brutal year comes to an end, I find myself wondering about what lies ahead. For months I’ve made conscious choices to focus my energy inward instead of spiralling down the toxic terrain around us. I’ve watched friends disappear into darkness through fear, anxiety, and depression. We’re struggling to hold on, find purpose, and even give ourselves a reason to try. I find myself laying on the floor staring at the ceiling searching for answers about what the future holds for me, my family, and those around me. Personally, I struggle with the meaning of “success”. What does it mean to be a successful artist, husband, father, son, friend….? Straight up, this shit sucks. This year sucked. I hate what it’s done to humanity. I despise what we’ve been doing to each other. I’m sick to think of the repercussions when this is all over. But… one day it will be over.
