Lauren Sisler, national award-winning sports broadcaster and currently a Sports Reporter for AL.com, lost both of her parents to prescription drug overdose within hours of each other. Lauren received the devastating news while attending college as a freshman in 2003. Galvanized by this loss, Lauren has made it her calling to spread awareness of drug abuse and addiction, and the devastation it causes to both the addict, and their loved ones. Lauren serves as a board member for the Addiction Prevention Coalition in Birmingham, is on the Speakers Bureau for the Shelby County Drug Free Coalition, and provides outreach for Bradford Health Services and The Foundry.
