Time, commitment, energy and focus: We live in a culture and pace of life that makes those words seem wearisome and overwhelming. The reality that healthy and vibrant spirituality takes time, commitment, energy and focus leads many of us to a defeated, discouraged place with our spiritual lives. We know we're supposed to do something with this Jesus thing, but just the very fact that we are supposed to do in a world where we're already doing too much makes us draw back, drop our heads, and give up trying anything. But hang on a minute...Jesus did not come to put more burden on us. He does not aim to make us work our way to heaven. So what do we do with Jesus, right here, right now?
