His work to give people a fresh start has been covered everywhere from Buzzfeed to the Chicago Tribune. Growing up in Los Angeles, Chris Baker was what police referred to as a "known associate." He wasn't a gang member himself, but could be found in the vicinity of the criminal underworld. After a good friend was killed in a drive by shooting, Chris and his family moved to Chicago, in search of a more peaceful life of opportunity. Although Chris had some experience with church growing up, he didn't truly meet Jesus until adulthood.
