I will make my final decision on what I think of the matter as things progress or more questions are answered. As of now, these are my thoughts, If the librarians in this specific schools district are responsible for teaching the students to read, and 4-8th grade are still reading below the grade level, that could be the reason the librarians are moved into different positions. The goal is the students reading to their grade level, and specialized support necessary for that to happen. Traditional school librarians do not teach you how to read. They do not teach you one on one how to read. There is more to teaching students to read, especially struggling students, than reading them stories. The teachers are even failing to teach them to read, so obviously a traditional librarian isn't equipped for that at the scale or depth necessary for the kids to catch up. The traditional school librarian teaches you how to gain access to books and information computer, etc, in the library, and reads stories to youn
