I'm a 34-year-old award-winning broadcast journalist and UK Chevening Scholar from Cape Town, South Africa. In 2024 I completed an MA in Contemporary History and International Politics at the University of York, England with distinction. This experience sharpened my skills in researching and analysing complex historical and geopolitical issues and set me on a path to becoming a lecturer in media, history, or politics. I’m passionate about pursuing historical investigations, producing documentaries, and offering political analysis in South Africa’s media landscape, all to empower the next generation of South African media professionals. My dissertation, ‘1966 and All That: Britain’s Relationship with ‘High’ Apartheid South Africa,’ was supported by the University of York’s James Jarvis Memorial Bursary, to publish unreleased British Foreign Office archives. After 14 years as a journalist, anchor, and producer for top news broadcasters like eTV, eNCA, EWN, CBC, and AFP, I've earned awards, mentored rising media
