After all the talk about tagging, trading transition tag, or even bona fide extensions, it appears the door is shut. According to Star Tribune's Andrew Krammer, the Minnesota Vikings do not expect to tag him. Not to trade him, or to keep him, or to buy time to work out a longer deal.
