Some of today's top storiesDeputies were on scene of a standoff in northwest Bakersfield.    This was the scene on Batch Lane.    It is not clear what led up to this...    A man was seen being taken into custody...    Witnesses on scene say a woman was also taken into custody.    We have contacted the Kern County Sheriff's Office... but have not heard back.a man is dead this morning and the driver who hit him, is accused of driving under the influence.  It happened just after 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Oak and 24th Streets.    Police say the man was in the center divider of the road when a vehicle turning onto 24th street from Oak street ran over the divider...    Hitting the man and four other vehicles.    The man was pronounced dead at the scene...    Another driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.    The driver was arrested for DUI and was booked into the Kern County Jail.    The investigation into this crash is ongoing.And an east Bakersfield home goes up in flames.    This is was the
