Some of today's top storiesA man is in the hospital this morning following an officer-involved shooting in northwest Bakersfield.    It happened in a neighborhood down the street from Liberty High School. Last night it all started as a welfare check for a man reported to be suffering with a mental health crisis and possibly having a gun.    Over the course of several hours last night, deputies say they arrived at the scene and tried several ways to de-escalate the situation.     K-C-S-O says the subject allegedly fired on deputies, hence the officer-involved-shooting.     No Sheriff's Office personnel were injured, and the man was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries.
