Romans 5:12-14 // Brooks NesseSin is not our bad habits that we don’t like about ourselves, it’s our master outside of Jesus and its rule is death. It's the reason I have the ability to do so much damage with my words. It is the reason I am so often quick to treat people with condescension, it's the reason for the shadow mission of our good deeds. We say things about our spouse in public to look like a good spouse but at home we're at each other’s throats, it’s why I have the ability to let a sports team, a meal, or a paycheck have more impact over my emotions than the needs and concerns of others. Humanity is born under the reign of sin and death, this was not how it ought to be but currently is.
