During her time at Purdue University, Melanie assisted with several equine therapy-based programs that focused on high-risk youth and physical therapy.​Melanie is not currently practicing as a licensed mental health professional but does maintain her licensure with the state of Ohio. She previously provided therapy services through professional employment as a social worker in Ohio, working with individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
