The Red Sox wrapped up their series against the Yankees Sunday night and took the series, 2 games to 1, with a 3-0 win in the series finale.  Kutter Crawford was terrific, tossing 7 scoreless innings and picking up his 5th win of the season and his 2nd against the Yankees.  Crawford allowed 4 hits, walked no one and struck out 7.  He threw 68 total pitches and 54 for strikes.The game was scoreless until the top of the 7th inning.  Rafael Devers went the opposite way against Luis Gil for his 2nd Home Run of the Series and his 20th on the season and the solo shot put the Red Sox up, 1-0.  Ceddanne Rafaela made it 2-0 in the 8th with his 2nd Home Run of the Series and 11th on the year.  Devers made it 3-0 with his 2nd Home Run of the night in the top of the 9th inning.  Devers with his 16th career Home Run at Yankee Stadium. The Sox hit 7 Home Runs in the Series.  Boston did not go deep in taking 2 of 3 from the Yankees at Fenway Park in June.Justin Slaten gave up a 1-out walk in the 8th, but nothing else in wor

The Red Sox had 3 different streaks come to an end with Saturday's 14-4 loss to the Yankees.  Weekend series in the Bronx is even at 1-1.  The Red Sox had their 5-game win streak come to an end as well as a 6-game road win streak.  The Sox missed out on improving to 10 games over .500 for the first time this season and saw their 5-game win streak at Yankee Stadium end.     Red Sox were up a run going to the bottom of the 5th inning and when the frame was over, the Yankees put up 7 runs and led by 6 runs.  Massachusetts native Ben Rice (Cohasset, MA) led off the home 1st with a home run against Josh Winckowski and then capped New York's 7-run 5th with his 2nd Home Run of the game, a 3-run blase off of reliever Chase Anderson.  Rice added his 3rd HR of the game, a 2nd 3-R Home Run off Chase Anderson in the 7th inning.  That made it 14-4.  Rice 3 Home Runs and 7 RBIs.  Rafael Devers collected his 1000th career hit in the Big Leagues with an RBI single off Gerrit Cole in the 3rd and that tied the game at 1-1.  Ma

The Red Sox opened up their 3-game weekend series in New York with a thrilling 5-3 comeback win in 10 innings over the Yankees Friday night.  Boston used the long ball late in the game to tie it up and eventually win it.The Red Sox were down to their final strike in the top of the 9th when Masa Yoshida hit a 2-out, 2-run Home Run off of Yankees closer Clay Holmes. The Red Sox celebrated our Nation's Birthday on Thursday afternoon by completing a series sweep over the Marlins in Miami.  Sox improved to 8 games over .500 for the first time this season with a 6-5, 12-inning victory in the finale.  Neither team scored in the 10th. Sox got two in the top of the 11th and the Marlins did the same in the bottom of the 11th. Sox got 2 in the top of the 12th.  Marlins got just 1 in the home 11th.  David Hamilton scored the go-ahead run in the top of the 12th on a ground out and Tyler O'Neil got a much-needed insurance run with an RBI Double.  O'Neil had 3 hits in the Sox victory.  Marlins Jesus Sanchez broke up Nick Pivetta's no-hit bid with a 2-out triple in the 7th.  He had a lead-off double against Kenley Jansen in the 9th inning, but he was cut down at the plate by Jarren Duran on a single to centerfield.  Sanchez then tied the game at 4-4 with a 2-Run Home Run off Zack Kelly in the 11th.  The Marlins entered the series with 16 home wins, and they had walked off in 8 of thos

The Red Sox continued their winning ways on the road and Brayan Bello delivered a much-needed quality outing in the Red Sox 7-2 win over the Marlins Wednesday night in Miami.  Bello gave a 1st-inning run and that was it for the rest of the night.  He went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run on 7 hits.  He walked only 1 and struck out 7 in picking up his 8th win of the season and 2nd over his last 6 outings.  Bello gave up a pair of 2-out singles in the 7th and gave way to Brennan Bernardino, who managed to get the final out to strand two runners.  Sox offense was not at its best and squandered plenty of opportunities over the first 6 innings, but did chase Marlins starter Trevor Rogers, who threw 84 pitches over his 3 innings of work.  Boston went in front with 2 runs in the 3rd.  Rafael Devers tied the game at 1-1 with an RBI Single and Masa Yoshida made it 2-1 with an RBI single of his own.  Yoshida picked up his 2nd RBI of the game with an RBI groundout with the bases loaded in the 7th.  Devers with the S

Kutter Crawford working on a little extra rest pitched 6 solid innings in helping the Red Sox to an 8-3 win in the series opener over the Miami Marlins Tuesday night.  Tuesday was the 1st of 6 straight games on the road for the Red Sox.  Crawford, a Florida native, allowed just 1 run over 6 innings of work.  Crawford did not walk anyone and struck out 7 in improving his record to 4-7.  Sox are now 5-12 in his first 17 starts of the season.  Sox got on the board first with Rafael Devers knocking in a pair of runs in the 1st inning with a 2-R single.  Ceddanne Rafaela made it 5-0 with a 3-R HR in the 4th inning.  It was his 9th HR of the season and first since homering at Toronto on June 17th.  Masa Yoshida and Konnor Wong delivered RBI singles in the 7th.  Wong's hit, his first of the game, extended his hit streak to 16 in a row.  Yoshida had a 3-hit night. Josh Winckowski, making his 4th start season and 1st since May 2nd, worked 5 scoreless innings and notched his 2nd win in the Red Sox 4-1 victory over the San Diego Padres Sunday afternoon at Fenway Park. Rafael Devers and Jarren Duran both hit home runs in the win. Winckowski gave up 4 hits, walked no one and struck out 1. Devers hit a 2-Out, 2-R HR in the bottom first inning. Duran went deep in the 5th to make it 4-0. It was his 2nd of the series. The Sox go 2-3 on their homestand against the Blue Jays and Padres. Sunday's win helped the Sox avoid being swept at home for the 2nd time this season and they also avoided a 4th straight loss. Kenley Jansen worked a 1-2-3 9th to record the save.  Red Sox are now on the road for their next 6 games with a 3-game series against the Marlins getting underway Tuesday night in Miami. The Red Sox dropped the series opener, 9-2, to the San Diego Pades Friday night at Fenway Park.  Nick Pivetta was cruising through the first four innings against the Padres and then he ran into all kinds of trouble in the 5th inning against Pivetta and reliever Greg Weissert.  The first 5 hitters reached base against Pivetta before he was removed from the game.  Weissert entered and gave up a 2-R single to Jake Cronenworth and then a 3-R Home Run to Jackson Merrill. The first 9 hitters reached before an out was recorded.  Padres were held in check the rest of the way.  Connor Wong got the Red Sox on the board first with a 2-out, RBI single in the 4th.  Wong extended his hit streak to 14 in a row. Brayan Bello worked 2 scoreless innings to open and then it all fell a part with him allowing 7 earned runs and not making it out of the 3rd inning Tuesday night in what turned into a 9-4 loss to the Blue Jays.  Series is even at 1-1.  Jaren Duran went 0-for-5 with 2 strikeouts and his career-high, 15-game hit streak came to an end.  Rafael Devers and Tyler O'Neil both hit home runs in the loss.  Bello allowed the 1st 6 batters to reach in the 3rd inning.  Vladimir Guerrero had a 2-run double to make it 4-2.  George Springer hit a 2-run home run to make it 7-2.  Josh Winckowski made his first appearance since being brought back up from the minors and he was terrific.  Winckowski gave up 2 earned runs on 6 hits and he struck out 8 over the final 6 innings.  Red Sox have hit at least 1 home run in 8 straight games and 16 total during that stretch.  Red Sox committed 3 errors in the loss.  The series will close out on Wednesday with Kutter Crawford making the start for the Sox.  Red Sox have won their previous 6
