In a few different places in his account, Luke refers to "certain women."  These women were mentioned specifically, and often mentioned in connection with the Savior and the Twelve.  In today's episode we'll discuss the qualities that these sisters possessed, and what we can learn from them to apply in our own lives.  We'll also get some insights from Linda K. The Savior often taught in parables, and He was able to teach SO MUCH through these simple stories.  There are many benefits to the Savior teaching this way, including the same story having many applications and lessons, as well as the ability to have every day experiences and objects remind us of gospel principles, and ultimately, of the Savior Himself.  We'll dig into what Joseph Smith said about the Savior's parable, as well as talk about a simple game you can play today with your family to use the power of parables in your own life!  Questions:  1. My experience growing up on a dry land wheat farm and having to pull wild oats so that they wouldn't contaminate the wheat crop helped me better appreciate the Savior's parable of the wheat and the tares.  In today's episode, we're going to dig into that parable.  We'll also draw upon the Savior's explanation of this parable from Doctrine and Covenants, as well as the thoughts of a modern day apostle regarding the parable.  Questions:  1. One of the Savior's most well known parables is the parable of the sower, which, could just have easily been called the parable of the types of soil.  What can this parable, and the 4 types of soil that Christ mentioned in it, teach us about hearing and following the word of God?  That's what we'll be digging into in this episode.  Questions:  1. It is so easy to get caught up in the minutia of the Sabbath day... What we should do, or shouldn't do... What we can, or can't do... And we're not alone in this nit-picking. The Pharisees in Christ's day were the same way! Except, they went so far as to accuse Jesus himself of breaking the sabbath!  Can you imagine? As we discussed in Episode 11, Jesus Christ invites us to take upon ourselves HIS yoke so He can lighten our burdens.  One of the ways the Savior does this is by inviting us to repent, and then forgiving our sins.  This is a extremely personal and sacred experience, and one that leads to an increase in love toward the Savior.  In today's episode, we'll explore this correlation between being forgiven and developing an increase of love.  Questions:  1. Sometimes life is hard.  We ALL carry burdens.  Sometimes they are because of our own choices and mistakes, sometimes they are because of the choices or mistakes of others. And sometimes, they're just a part of life.  However, regardless of the trial, challenge or burden, there is one overarching solution. After Christ called and ordained his apostles, he gave them power to perform their callings, as well as counsel for how to be successful.  While this counsel was specifically given to the original Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, there is much we can learn about fulfilling OUR callings from the counsel they received.  Today, we'll discuss those things.  Questions:  1.
