  • Why Tisha BAv Is the Day Yeshua Wept — And Why Every Believer Should Know It

Why Tisha B'Av Is the Day Yeshua Wept — And Why Every Believer Should Know It

    16/07/2026 Duración: 56min

In this solemn and timely teaching, we explore Tisha B'Av — the ninth of Av — and its connection to Yeshua's tears over Yerushalayim. Drawing from Luke 19, Matthew 23, Lamentations, Jewish tradition, and the historic destruction of the Temples, this episode calls believers to recover lament as a necessary and righteous discipline of covenant faith. This is Part 1 of a two-part teaching leading into Tisha B'Av.

Persia in Ezekiel 38: What the Death of Khamenei Means for Prophecy Watchers

    15/07/2026 Duración: 49min

In this episode of The Messianic Torah Observer, we examine Ezekiel 38 in light of the death of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, and the renewed speculation surrounding Persia's prophetic role. We identify the nations in Gog's coalition, consider the Russia-centered and historical-geographic interpretive views, and return to the central purpose of the prophecy: that the nations may know that He is YHVH. This is a sober, text-first teaching for saints who desire to watch, pray, discern, and live faithfully in prophetic times.

  • Every Stop Is Recorded - The 42 Stations, Yeshuas Genealogy, and Your Desert Season

Every Stop Is Recorded - The 42 Stations, Yeshua's Genealogy, and Your Desert Season

    13/07/2026 Duración: 40min

In this installment of The Messianic Torah Observer, I pick up from Parashat Massei (this past Sabbath's reading) and invite you slow down and take another look at Numbers/Bemidbar 33. What first appears to be a simple travel log of our 42 wilderness encampments is, in fact, a powerful witness that Abba Yah records every stop in our covenant journey. From Rameses of Mitsrayim to the plains of Moab, Yah had Moshe write down the goings out of His people by His command. And if Yah recorded every encampment of our wilderness sojourning, then we should take comfort in knowing that He also records the stops, struggles, failures, waiting seasons, and forward movements of our Faith walk today. This teaching also draws out a stunning Messianic connection between the 42 wilderness stations of Numbers 33 and the 42 generations in Matthew 1, showing how Yehoshua HaMashiyach is not only the destination of our journey, but the One who walks with us through every encampment on our way to the Kingdom of the Heavens.

Parashat Mattot–Massei: Israel's Prophetic Hour & The Narrow Places of Our Generation

    10/07/2026 Duración: 37min

In this installment of The Messianic Torah Observer, we unpack Parashat Mattot–Massei through the lens of covenant responsibility, spiritual warfare, Israel's prophetic standing, and the narrow places facing Yah's people today. We explore the weight of vows, the war with Midian, the 42 wilderness journeys, the covenant boundaries of the Land, and the sobering realities surrounding Israel, Iran, Judea and Samaria, Hezbollah, and shifting international support. I also address key Messianic and Hebrew Roots community concerns, including the danger of elevating Torah above Messiah and the need for unity without doctrinal drift. As Bein HaMetzarim unfolds, I call upon Yah's chosen and elect to guard their words, their hearts, their unity, and their covenant walk with clarity, courage, and conviction.

  • AI, Spiritual Authority, and the Image of Elohim

AI, Spiritual Authority, and the Image of Elohim

    02/07/2026 Duración: 34min

In this installment of The Messianic Torah Observer, Rod Thomas offers a biblically grounded and Torah-centered reflection on Artificial Intelligence and its place in the life of Yah's covenant people. Rather than approaching AI through fear, hype, or sensationalism, this episode asks how disciples of Yehoshua Messiah should think about AI in ministry, study, creativity, and spiritual discernment. The episode explores why AI may serve as a helpful research and organizational tool, but must never replace prayer, Scripture, Spirit-led study, or the authority of the Ruach Kodesh. Rod also addresses common concerns about whether AI is becoming too powerful, whether it is dangerous, and how believers should engage it wisely without surrendering their discernment. Most importantly, this teaching reminds listeners that no machine, regardless of its intelligence, can worship, repent, receive Yah's Spirit, walk in covenant, or bear the image of Elohim. AI may imitate creativity and conversation, but it can never repla

What Torah Cannot Do for Us Part 5: The Mystery of Torahlessness

    10/06/2026 Duración: 56min

Beloved, in this final installment of our "What Torah Can and Cannot Do for Us" series, we examine what Torah cannot do: it cannot save us, justify us, or cancel the certificate of indebtedness that stands against us because of sin. Only Yehoshua HaMashiyach can satisfy that debt and call us back to faithful, obedient covenant living.

What Torah Can Do for Us, Part 4: How Torah Reveals God, Points to Yeshua, and Strengthens the Redeemed

    04/06/2026 Duración: 54min

In Part 4 of What Torah Can Do for Us, we explore what Torah does for the redeemed believer. Torah does not save or justify us apart from Yeshua Messiah, yet it reveals Yehovah's character, points us to Messiah, makes us wise unto salvation, grounds us in truth, and strengthens us for covenant faithfulness and spiritual warfare.

What the Torah Can and Cannot Do for Us, Part 3 Torah Cannot Justify Contempt for Israel

    29/05/2026 Duración: 23min

Greetings saints of the Most High. In this installment of the Messianic Torah Observer, I offer a needed clarification regarding Israel, the Jewish people, and the broader discussion from this teaching series, "What the Torah Can and Cannot Do for Us." In this episode, I examine what Scripture says about Yah's everlasting covenant with Israel, Paul's teaching that God has not rejected His people, and the reality that we as non-Jewish believers are grafted into the commonwealth of Israel rather than replacing it. I also address the misuse of passages such as "neither Jew nor Greek" and explain why Torah can never be used as a justification for contempt, condemnation, or arrogance toward our Jewish cousins.   If you have ever wrestled with the relationship between Torah, covenant, Israel, grace, and the calling of Gentile believers in Messiah, this teaching will help ground that discussion in the plain witness of Scripture. My prayer is that this message leads us all toward covenant humility, truth, prayer,

Torah as our Constitution and God's Culture What the Torah Can and Cannot Do for Us Part 2

    20/05/2026 Duración: 49min

In this teaching, I unpack why Torah serves as the constitution and culture of Yah's people, while also showing what Torah cannot do for us apart from true, trusting faith in Yeshua. We'll examine Judaism's oral tradition, the Church's man-made culture, and the urgent need to return to Yeshua-focused Torah living.

  • What Does Walking with God Look Like from a Yeshua-focused Torah-Living Perspective

What Does Walking with God Look Like from a Yeshua-focused Torah-Living Perspective

    25/04/2026 Duración: 45min

What does "walking with God" actually mean—biblically—and what does it look like for a disciple living a Yeshua‑focused, Torah‑faithful life? In this teaching, we explore the Hebrew concept of "walk," why Scripture highlights Enoch and Noah as men who walked with God, and how covenant relationship forms the foundation for moral uprightness (yashar), holiness (set‑apartness), and spiritual fruit. We also connect "walking in the light" (1 John 1) with kingdom living (Matthew 5–7), the enabling work of the Ruach HaKodesh, and Yeshua's warning about the narrow gate and Torahlessness (Matthew 7). Listen through and consider: are we merely professing faith—or truly walking in covenant loyalty with YHVH?

Clean or Unclean? The Torah's Call to Set-Apart Living. My Sabbath Thoughts and Reflections on Torah Reading Tazria-Metzorah

    18/04/2026 Duración: 44min

In this installment of the Messianic Torah Observer, I reflect on Torah Reading Tazria–Metzorah (Leviticus 12:1–15:33), exploring the Torah's purity standards and how they point beyond the physical to enduring spiritual principles. Using the themes of childbirth, tzaraat ("leprosy"), and bodily flows, this teaching highlights how holiness is protected, how cleansing and restoration work, and how Yeshua refocuses defilement from external ritual concerns to the heart (Matthew 15:10–20). I close this episode with practical encouragement to pursue both physical stewardship and deeper spiritual cleanness as temples of Yehovah's presence. In this episode: Overview of Tazria–Metzorah and its three major sections (childbirth, tzaraat, bodily flows) Why purity standards matter: holiness, community, and access to Yehovah's presence Hygienic and ritual purposes: not mutually exclusive The priesthood's role: examining, diagnosing, declaring clean/unclean, mediating restoration Quarantine, "seventh day" separation

Drafted Into a Cosmic War-Defining Spiritual Warfare in a Time of Global Darkness-Part 1 of our Spiritual Warfare Series

    07/02/2026 Duración: 46min

Episode Overview We are living in a time of global upheaval, moral inversion, and spiritual confusion. Scripture warned us that such days would come—but it also prepared us for them. In Part 1 of our Spiritual Warfare Series, we lay the foundation by answering a critical question:   What is spiritual warfare—from a biblical, Messianic, Torah‑rooted perspective?   This episode introduces the reality of an unseen cosmic conflict between the Kingdom of Light and the Kingdom of Darkness, a war that has been raging since the dawn of creation and one in which every believer is already involved—whether they realize it or not. Contrary to popular Christian culture, spiritual warfare is not emotionalism, not fear‑based obsession, and not optional. It is covenantal, scriptural, and central to our calling as the redeemed of YHWH in these last days.

The Suffering Warrior Unveiling Judahs Mashiyach ben Joseph and the Messianic Mystery A - Part 10 of our Melchizedek Series

    30/01/2026 Duración: 01h21min

The Suffering Warrior: Unveiling Judah's Mashiyach ben Yosef and the Messianic Mystery Overview In this post, Rod explores Judah's conception of Mashiyach ben Yosef (Messiah son of Joseph), tracing its development through biblical, Rabbinic, and apocalyptic literature, and connecting it to Messianic faith in Yeshua. The study highlights the "suffering warrior" motif, the precursor role to Mashiyach ben David, and the eschatological implications for Israel and the world. Key Themes & Scriptural Foundations Mashiyach ben Yosef as Precursor: Mashiyach ben Yosef is depicted as a leader who precedes Mashiyach ben David, preparing Israel through military, political, and spiritual means (repentance and Torah observance). This role is likened to John the Immerser as a type of precursor. Two-Stage Eschatology: Rabbinic tradition envisions two Messiahs—ben Yosef (the suffering, martyred leader) and ben David (the glorious, reigning king). The first stage is marked by suffering and conflict, the second by p

Messiah the Prince Daniels Prophecy Jewish Tradition and the Identity of Yeshua - Part 9 of our Melchizedek Series

    24/01/2026 Duración: 01h07min

In this installment, Rod Thomas explores the Jewish concepts of the Messiah, focusing on the three-messiah framework: Mashiyach Nagid, Mashiyach ben Yosef, and Mashiyach ben David. The discussion delves into Daniel's prophecy, Jewish tradition, and the identity of Yeshua (Jesus) as understood in Messianic faith. The episode also examines why mainstream Judaism rejects Yeshua as Messiah and how these messianic expectations shape both Jewish and Messianic perspectives. Key Topics Covered 1. Introduction and Context Greetings and setting: Recorded on the 3rd Day of the 11th biblical month, 6025 (Friday, January 16, 2026). Reflection on persecution, faith, and the hope found in Yeshua's teachings (Matthew 5:10-12; Ephesians 6:18; Matthew 5:44; Luke 6:28). 2. Why Judaism Rejects Yeshua as Messiah Historical grievances and theological differences. Have We Finished the Great Commission and Triggered the End Times

    09/01/2026 Duración: 58min

Welcome, beloved saints of the Most High! I'm Rod Thomas, and I'm honored to bring you another installment of the Messianic Torah Observer. On this unusually warm Preparation Day here in DFW, I invite you to join me as we tackle a provocative question: Have we truly finished the Great Commission—and could this be the very thing that triggers the End Times? In this episode, I share my personal reflections and biblical analysis after reading a recent BlazeTV article featuring global missions leader Douglas Cobb. Cobb claims that within the next decade, every people group on earth will have access to the Gospel, and that this milestone could unleash the End Times and prompt the return of Messiah. But is this really what Scripture teaches? Here's what you can expect as I walk you through this timely discussion: My take on Cobb's claims: I break down the metrics and milestones cited by mission organizations, including Bible translation efforts and church planting, and ask whether these truly fulfill Yeshua's
