Playstation Forecast

Ben, Lucy and Aadil get together to discuss Sonic Mania, Call of Duty WW2 beta, Linelight and Framed 2 as well as the nostalgic ‘SEGA’ intro, SEGA the publisher, Battlefield (of course) and a couple of point and click games were mentioned. The beers this week are Oskar Blues ‘Beerito’ Mexican Lager and Sierra Nevada ‘Tropical Torpedo’ American IPA for Aadil. Lucy drinks Firestone Walker/Beavertown ‘West Side Beavo’ Lager and ‘Peacher Man’ Belgian Wit from Beavertown. Ben has the last of his Estonian beers with the Õllenaut ‘Sesoon’ Rye Saison and Põhjala ‘Must Kuld’ coffee porter.

We talk changing difficulty levels and going through old games, and new ones with the new ‘Story-mode’ in Horizon. We then talk about dream jobs tasting beers, and testing video games. It’s Gluten-free week here at Tanked Up. All beers this week are gluten-free for all you celiacs out there. Both Ben and Aadil start off with the “Mikeller” ‘I Wish’ IPA. Ben follows it up with ‘Fantasma’ IPA from “Magic Rock”. Aadil has the “Brewdog” ‘Vagabond’ Pale Ale.

Dave’s played Uncharted on easy! whilst Ben’s been playing Hellblade on absolutely brutal smash your face in difficulty. Also mentioned just a little, No Man’s Sky and the Atlus Rises DLC (expansion?). The news this week features all the autumn/winter games conferences, Gamescom, Paris games week and PSX, and the games Life is Strange: Before the Storm, We Happy Few and The Last of Us 2. Playstation’s European and UK social media also hints at a big reveal after getting hacked.

We’re back, after a brief summer hiatus and we are talking “Hellblade”, gaming droughts and the room 1 & 2 before moving on to this week’s topic. Loot boxes, pay-to-win and children gambling. Also Aadil gets a little yelly at the end… for biological reasons. Its a special beer week, celebrating the “Honest Brew” fan designed special edition brew ‘Free Lunch’ in collaboration with “Northern Monk”. Lucy has the ‘Travel Notes’ International IPA from “Northen Monk” and “Fieldwork”, as well as Lonely Planet.

This week we talk ‘Splatoon 2’, the ‘Destiny 2’ beta, ‘Yonder: the cloud chronicles’ and ‘The Final Station’ before moving on to our topic. A Czech brewery “Aurosa” has emerged releasing the ‘first beer for her’® a pink-bottled number, discussion ensues. Lego may be mentioned. Aadil starts things off with the ‘Yellow Sub’ IPA from “Blacks of Kinsale” (Cork), while Ben has the “Põhjala” dry-hopped Saison ‘Hooaeg’. They both try out the ‘Loral & Ardi’ trippel collaboration from the folks over at “Cloudwater/verdant/Lost & Grounded”. Lucy takes on the “Fierce/Beer 52” collaboration ‘Pink Grapefruit Pale Ale’.

Ben and Dave get together to discuss a selection of Playstation news from the last two weeks, what they’ve been playing and add another Game to Dave’s list of must plays. There’s a little focus on PS Plus too after a rather infuriating email was received by those subscribed to the service. The games featured this week are Until Dawn (Again), The Uncharted Collection, Just Cause 3, Freedom Cry, Downwell, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and God Of War 4.

We return with the first of this summer/autumns big FPS beta tests, Destiny 2. Ben is joined by two veteran Guardians, Dave Wyatt and Ross Falconer to discuss both the game and the beta test itself. Both Ross and Dave give Ben a little background on some of the original mechanics in Destiny and how they’ve changed for the sequel. They discuss the PvE and PvP play modes, how light the beta seemed on content and if they’ll be there day one.

As always, we talk the games we’ve been playing, “Yonder: the cloud catcher chronicles”, “Duelyst” & Aadil couldn’t resist talking some more “Superhot” as it is out on PSN now, with its VR counterpart as well. Our topic this week is all about “craft” vs independent beer, and how the big corporations are buying things up with people like SIBA wanting a label to show off small and fully independent breweries. Ben starts off with the “Wylam” Pale Ale ‘Remain in Light’, then the ‘Kingslayer’ DIPA from “Buxton”. Adam was on Holiday last week and despite Alfred’s best efforts he was unable to Sheppard a few of the gremli– I mean contributors, into a recording booth to knock out an episode. No matter though because Adam has returned this week to put together an episode for you. I know it is late but at least it is here. This week we dive into Spider-Man: Homecoming (Don’t worry we warn you before any spoilers) & the hottest news of the week; the new occupant of the T.A.R.D.I.S.

Xfire is back and with a new crew who run through the latest Playstation news and discuss a few choice games. This week includes Horizon: Zero Dawn, Until Dawn, Crash Bandicoot, GT Sport, Destiny 2 and Battlefront 2 (the new one).

This week is quite a special one, as we opened up the 13-hour livestream for “Gamers United Against Demnetia”. We talk memory games, times our memory has failed us in games, games as part of dementia/memory research, games as both preventative and palliative brain care, and a whole lot else besides. Ben and Aadil share one of Lucy’s favourite beers the ‘Steady Rolling Man’ pale ale from the folks over at “DEYA”. The boys finish off the conversation with the “Northern Monks Patron Project” pineapple and grapefruit juice IPA ‘4.02’. Lucy starts off with the ‘Cryo Baby’ session IPA from “Magic Rock Brewery”, following it up with “Beerbliotek” ‘Single Hop Mosaic’ IPA.

Particularly the big sales events of the year, e.g. steam summer, and seemingly never-ending sales in games that tease our pocketbooks constantly. Aadil rabbits on about the “Enhanced Steam” chrome extension, and Ben still hasn’t quite bought a steam link. Ben has the “To Øl” DIPA ‘Underground’, and Aadil the “Northern Monks Patron Project” Saison ‘DDH’. Do you buy games at full price?

This week; Adam is joined by Aadil for a podcast full of more confectionery than you can shake a stick at… not that you see many people shaking sticks at cakes.
