#038 - The Argument Tragedy [Cosmic Dynamics]
17/09/2020 Duración: 05minDo you ever argue with your partner, with your roommate, with your mother, or whoever you are living with. Yes? Maybe? I am sure you noticed that what you argue about is never really the reason for the argument. Couples don’t break up because one of them did not empty the dishwasher... It seems there is always something bigger, something unacknowledged that is overshadowing the apparent topic of the argument. Right? Today we are featuring the Sculpture “Migratory Soul” by Josh Keyes which you can find here: https://www.instagram.com/joshkeyes.art/ Thank you for tuning in, Camille.

#037 - Cosmic Trip [Cosmic Dynamics]
09/09/2020 Duración: 08minThere is a story I have been wanting to tell for a few days, but I was too busy pinching myself because I couldn’t believe what was actually happening. Ok, it’s time… Last week, when getting to my desk, there was a package on the table. I have no idea how it got here. It had “Cosmic” written on it. So I opened it. There was a postcard in there, handwritten with a sort of weird glowing ink that I had to put in the sunlight for maximum clarity. I couldn’t believe what was written on it, and what else was in this package... Thank you for tuning in.

#036 - The Air Time Dilemma [Cosmic Dynamics]
02/09/2020 Duración: 07minIf you produce art, media, stories about what’s going on in the world, there is one tough decision you’re probably dealing with, especially if you have a significant following.. How much air time should I give to this topic, to this story, … isn’t it getting enough air time already? How is my piece influencing the discussion, really? Let’s deconstruct what’s going on here: let’s talk about how air time impacts our lives… Thank you for tuning in.

#035 - OFF [Cosmic Dynamics]

#018 (rebroadcast) Too Soon for Black Humour? [Cosmic Dynamics]
08/08/2020 Duración: 07minIt might be a good time to open a chapter on humour, the most powerful tool of them all… I like to think :) It’s fair to say that it plays a central role in the media environment, it shapes how we understand ideas, social boundaries and even logic. Tomorrow for our weekly live mix I will be revisiting an interview I produced last year with Pieter de Poortere, the creator of the hilarious comics character Dickie Cosmic Dynamics is also available on Spotify & on podcast apps. Thank you for tuning in. Camille

#022 (rebroadcast) Sexing Up the Root Causes [Cosmic Dynamics]
31/07/2020 Duración: 10minThis episode features “Paisatges de Plàstic” an art piece by Elena Villalba, Xénia Cros, Pau Galceràn, Oriol Ruiz and Lydia Moreno from the Art School of Olot @artdissenyolot in Catalunya. There are things happening in the world that are extremely harmful to society and to the environment, but are quite... boring to talk about. Boring because it’s complex, It’s visually non appealing, it’s distant, it’s silent, it’s grey… How do we deal with this as a society, in an era where people's attention span is shorter than ever and the competitive media landscape pushes content production to the edges of dramatic, sensational, crazy, and... “you won’t believe what happens next”? This is a real question for artists, storytellers and other influencers of culture who care about impact: how do we deal with “important, but not sexy”… *Useful links are featured in the episode notes on www.cosmic.show Cosmic Dynamics is also available on Spotify & on podcast apps. #010 (rebroadcast) The Little Prince & the Invisible in Our Lives [Cosmic Dynamics]
30/07/2020 Duración: 03minHow much of our attention, of our energy, of our budget, are we putting into the invisible? The invisible in our lives? #013(rebroadcast) Bee Hives & Cross-Pollination from Local Stories [Cosmic Dynamics]

#017 (rebroadcast) Unleashing a Legion of Story Monsters [Cosmic Dynamics]
13/07/2020 Duración: 07min“Things have never been so good for humanity” “There’s never been a better time to be alive” “We’ve never had it so good than right now”. These couple of lines are very meaningful because when we accept this narrative as a truth, we open the door to a legion of story monsters that invade culture and society’s common sense. In connection to this episode I am featuring the work of Scott Listfield, who’s known for his paintings featuring a lone exploratory astronaut lost in a landscape cluttered with pop culture icons, corporate logos, and tongue-in-cheek science fiction references. It’s a great way to reflect on the present, the past and the future maybe? Remember it starts with the words we pick, and the stories we chose to tell. Cosmic Dynamics is also available on Spotify & on podcast apps. Thank you for tuning in. Camille

06/07/2020 Duración: 07minDo NOT listen to this episode. Features the poem “Negation” by Wallace Stevens: Hi! The creator too is blind, Struggling toward his harmonious whole, Rejecting intermediate parts, Horrors and falsities and wrongs; Incapable master of all force, Too vague idealist, overwhelmed By an afflatus that persists. For this, then, we endure brief lives, The evanescent symmetries From that meticulous potter's thumb. Cosmic Dynamics is also available on Spotify & on podcast apps. Thank you for tuning in.

#031 - Music & Language - Part 2 [Cosmic Dynamics]
30/06/2020 Duración: 06minCan music avoid the need for these words that have become so… limiting in many ways. Can it expand our horizons across human processes and have some sort of a regenerative effect on human communications? We are preparing an experiment on this topic, involving musicians, words, and a tough communication challenge. If you want to participate or attend from online, please send us an email at hello@cosmic.show and we’ll tell you more about it, we’re working on the how right now and will mail the Cosmic community when we have a detailed program. In this soundtrack by @christianscottofficial you can hear the immense talent of flutist @ElenaPinderhughes, which I am symbolically connecting to this episode and to this 40 000 year-old bone flute crafted in mammoth ivory. Gourmet food for the right brain! Useful links are featured on www.cosmic.show web page Cosmic Dynamics is also available on Spotify & on podcast apps. Thank you for tuning in.

#030 - Music & Language - Part 1 [Cosmic Dynamics]
30/06/2020 Duración: 11minWhich one came first? Music or language? Any idea? And what does it say about the little situation we’re in right now, as humans? Art piece of the day: Logos, a remarkable album by French jazz trio Zylia. They put forward a very sophisticated language, at a moment of human history where our relation to words and language has become so cynical... Cosmic #53 - Escaping the Hall of Mirrors - w/ Camille Duran
26/06/2020 Duración: 34minThe left hemisphere of our brain is attempting to block our exit from its hall of mirrors. There seems to be 3 escape routes, which directly connect to our work at Cosmic and Season 3 of the show. This episode is introducing a fundamental concept that became a cornerstone of our work at Cosmic. Cosmic is also available on Spotify & on podcast apps. Thank you for tuning in. Camille

#029 - Undoing Social Art Space Contradiction [Cosmic Dynamics]
23/06/2020 Duración: 05minIn the art space, when a gallery or museum showcases work about #social or #environmental issues, there sometimes is an uncomfortable contradiction between the context and messages conveyed by the art pieces on display, and what the exhibition space emanates. Have you experienced that? Or is it just me…? @zerowasteexhibition seems to be taking steps in the right direction to align the experience of the exhibition with the messaging of the showing. Don’t miss if you’re around Leipzig this week! #028 - The Structure of Your Mental World. [Cosmic Dynamics]
22/06/2020 Duración: 04minArt piece of the day by Julie Cambell It’s quite disarming to realise that the way we experience life is mostly based on the structure of our mental world, and that the structure of our mental world affects our reality. Is it that obvious? Is this true? How so? And what does it mean for the stories we tell and the work we produce as artists and influencers of culture? Useful links are featured on www.cosmic.show Cosmic Dynamics is also available on Spotify & on podcast apps. Thank you for tuning in.
