29/April/2010 marks the fifth anniversary of the release of Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger and the VoiceOver screen reader. The Screenless Switchers podcast offers a retrospective in episode 36, looking back at the last five years of Apple accessibility with a couple of the earliest Mac converts, and ahead to the future.

Our latest episode of the Mac-cessibility Round Table Podcast is a special edition. Join some of our Knights of the Round Table Podcast as we informally discuss our initial thoughts and exploration from iPad launch day. This will be the first in a series of podcasts exploring the newest member of Apple’s family of accessible products.

In the seventh episode of the Mac-cessibility Round Table Podcast, knights Cara Quinn, Eric Troup, Darcy Burnard, Holly Anderson, Steve Sawczyn, and Josh de Lioncourt discuss Apple’s big event to introduce the iPad slate computing device, its accessibility, speculation on how VoiceOver may differ from the iPhone, and what we think it means for the future.

In this special edition episode of the Mac-cessibility Podcast, we interview Slau Halatyn who spearheaded the ProTools Petition, which requested that Digidesign implement Apple’s accessibility standards into its ProTools product, an application for professional-level audio production. Slau had a chance to visit Digidesign in San Francisco, and got to experience first hand the tremendous progress being made toward ProTools accessibility with VoiceOver. We discuss his experiences with Digidesign, the developer behind ProTools access, the progress being made, and what we can expect from ProTools in the future.
