2007 Fresno, California. A man is awoken in the middle of the night by the frantic barking of his two dogs. Fearing an intruder was attempting to break in, the startled homeowner checked outside the windows but saw nothing outside. It wouldn’t be until the next morning when he went to check the tape from his recently installed security system that he would witness something that shocked him to his very core. The event would draw the attention of a local TV station, a UFO expert, and a Paranormal Investigation television show all within a few short years. During the first century BC construction was started on what would be a temple dedicated to the Roman god, Jupiter. This religious edifice was situated within the scenic Beqaa valley in the city, that was known then, as Heliopolis. The complex would see its completion around 60 AD and would be the largest temple ever to be constructed by the Romans dedicated to a deity. Every part of the structure was built to massive proportions and of a scale truly befitting that of the gods. Surrounded by towering columns that stood 62ft tall the Temple of Jupiter was part of a triumvirate with two other colossal temples which were dedicated to his wife, Astarte, and their son, Mercury. While the columns and temples are most certainly Roman, there are still secrets that lay buried beneath these ancient wonders. Within the foundation of the Temple of Jupiter are 3 cyclopean stones which puzzle archaeologists to this very day. During the Cold War, the constant threat of a global nuclear conflict was a dark spectre that haunted the heads of the world’s superpowers. In May of 2008 the U.S. Congress Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations of the Committee on Energy and Commerce met to discuss the proliferation of bio-containment labs. At the time, the Department of Homeland Security was proposing the shutdown of a facility isolated on an island off the East Coast of the U.S. and transfer of its operations to the mainland. This specific bio-research facility had been at the center of the effort to combat the pathogen known as foot and mouth disease. AUDIO ISSUES: Dan and Andrew both dropped audio on this one, had to use the backup.In 2011 the FBI added a short one-page memo to their extensive online archive that sent waves throughout the UFO world. The memo, addressed directly to then-director J. Edgar Hoover, had been sent from the desk of the head of the Washington field office. The memo contained claims from a third-party source that the Air Force has recovered alien craft from the New Mexico desert. Not only had the military recovered crashed vehicles but also the memo had details of bodies that had been retrieved from inside the craft, as well. On February 25, 1987, the book “Communion: a true story” hit the bookshelves and, by the end of one week, rocketed to a spot on the national bestsellers list. The narrative that the author laid out was of a terrifying experience in encountering beings that were not of this Earth. These visitors, whose descriptions resonated with others who had similar experiences, performed nightmarish examinations on the unsuspecting author and left him with, what he claims, was a fragmented memory and debilitating maladies immediately following his encounter. In 1952, Wayne Philips was a reporter for the New York Times and was attending Columbia University’s Russian Institute. It was here that Philips was approached by a representative of the CIA. The man offered to ensure Philips a posting in Moscow if he were to agree to be helpful to the agency while there. Philips was wary of the offer and expressed his doubts on an American journalist cooperating with the clandestine intelligence agency. The representative attempted to put Philips’ doubts to rest by mentioning that the CIA had “a working relationship” with the Times’ then-publisher Arthur Hays Sulzberger and had other reporters on their payroll. It wouldn’t be until 1973, when documents were revealed during the Church Committee investigations into the activities of the CIA, that the public would begin to learn just how the CIA was utilizing these reporters as foreign assets in their war of ideologies.
