Warnings about child sex trafficking are in news coverage during every major national or international event in the metro area, but it is actually happening all the time. Social media makes targeting vulnerable children easier, but some children in Indiana are being trafficked by their own families to support parents' drug addictions. Food First, a new local documentary exploring the changing attitudes about food - and where it comes from - in Indianapolis. There are two final events revolving around the film this coming weekend, with very different angles on what food in Indy means. WestFest immerses guests in the West, from music to food to activities. The family-themed event includes the chance to pan for gold, ride an authentic stagecoach and meet cowboys, including trick roper A.J. Silver. WestFest also gives visitors a chance to experience the Grand Canyon exhibit and share their own Grand Canyon memories before the exhibit closes 8/7.

The new Indy Vitals tool created by SAVI at The Polis Center and recently unveiled at WFYI. The Indy Vitals tool contains an untold wealth of information - available now to anyone - about the 99 distinct neighborhoods of Marion County. (You can go to indyvitals.org and look at your own neighborhood!) How can this info be used for the future of Indianapolis? WhatFriendsDo is a new online platform that provides structure to help people who want to provide support to a friend or family member in need. Based on the Kandrac family's experience with a friend who lost her battle with brain cancer, it gives supporters an easy way to coordinate schedules for the person/family needing assistance while keeping everyone connected. Friends can organize meal delivery, household chores, childcare, transportation and fundraising all in one place.

No Limits with Hoosier author and ISU English Professor Michael Shelden about his new book, "Melville in Love." Shelden was able to source an amazing collection of letters that reveal a secret relationship the great American author Herman Melville was having during one of the most important times of his life. Shelden discusses American life, love, "Moby-Dick," and movie rights in this fascinating conversation.

In Part 3 of our conversation on poverty as part of "Chasing the Dream," we discuss the importance of mass transit to the working poor. Our guests are Sean Northup of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Organization; Shoshanna Spector, Executive Director Indy Congregation Action Network; and Charlie Davis, Indianapolis resident whose employment and ability to age in place has been impacted by lack of public transportation.

Poverty rates in Marion County have increased by nearly 90% in the past decade. This is our opening discussion that frames the picture of poverty and sets the stage for our other three CTD shows in June, as part of WFYI's Chasing the Dream Coverage. This is the culmination of two years of research and connectivity pulled together by the IU Public Policy Research Institute. We did two shows previously with former Lt. Gov Kathy Davis and former IN Chief Justice Randy Shepard. Now the report is out, the road show begins. Recently released federal data indicates suicides have surged to a 30 year high in the United States across all age groups except older Americans. We will be delving into the subject of dyslexia. Joining the show are guests: Nanci Perry and Cheryl Clemens, both of Decoding Dyslexia-Indiana and both certified in Orton-Gillingham reading instruction. Nanci is a teacher from Yorktown and Cheryl is a reading tutor. In addition, both have dyslexic children. Chery's son Joshua Clemens will be taking part in the discussion as well.
