Today on the show I’m so excited to be introducing you to Lauren Ready - an Emmy Award-Winning producer, videographer and documentarian… and one of my speakers! Lauren started her career as a TV reporter, in front of the camera - and felt a pull to tell the stories that often didn’t get told…So she stepped behind the camera and started producing stories, events and virtual experiences from that angle. I'm so excited for Lauren to share her unique vantage point, focusing on how the speakers she’s produced have been able to overcome the obstacle of disconnection - and bust through that wall - aka the camera! - that too often exists in this virtual world… 

What made MLK such a powerful speaker? On today’s show - in honor of Martin Luther King Day - I’m gonna nerd out on the persuasive techniques that MLK used to geniusely persuade - and how YOU can bring your own persuasive power to life in your talks, too… 

Movers - I scrapped my plan this week to take a raw moment to talk with you about words, and power - and courage. The idea that I've built my business on is that words can move the world. That idea is a neutral one, unfortunately - as we've seen these past four years. People can move the world in ways that harm others... But our words? - Our words are NOT neutral. So after listening to the show today I hope you'll step out into the world in 2021 with a renewed purpose to use this incredibly powerful tool we have - our words and our voices and our stories... for good.

Last year was the LEAP. And now? We surrender to the fall. We FLOW. And you know what that means for our business and life? We have no idea yet… but we’re going to do our best to enjoy the ride. It’s all about FLOW.

Let's look at the moments that are worthy of and need our reflection, recognition, and notice... if we fly past it all too quickly, we’ll miss the moments that moved us, that changed us, that are creating a better US. 

We’ve all seen what a TEDx talk can do for your career, your credibility, your business, your growth…  And what’s so powerful about a TEDx talk - is that it’s about the purity of the idea. With both good and bad results - many TEDx events are NOT focused on the quality of the speaking (at least at first) - they prioritize the IDEA.  Which means that ANY OF US can get one. So - is it worth it?  In today's episode we talk with TEDx Producers Brian Hart and Erin Perry Borron - about the power of TEDx, and how one of their speakers went from local to global, reaching over 1.6 million viewers.  

We really need to know where we are at as speakers. Because when we do, when we can identify what stage we are in, it helps us figure out how to take the next steps in getting better, getting more visible, sharing our stories, stepping into the next phase of growth and impact on behalf of our audience. People buy from people. And your voice is the key to that success… In other words, as speakers, we need to develop our personal brand.
