January marks the 20 year anniversary of MotorMouth Radio and Ray & Chris decided there was no better way to commemorate it than to compile show bits featuring many of the colorful listeners, callers & guests from the span of the show, as well as ALL of the co-hosts who've worked on it (six in total). Sit back and enjoy this mash-up of topics and personalities that have made us what we are, some aren't with us anymore and some are still going strong. Who knows, you may find yourself featured in this fitting tribute to a fine show.

Ray & Chris have the immense pleasure of talking with Marty Schorr (previously of Cars magazine & Motion Performance) about his good friend Bill Kolb, a a die-hard Ford salesman, racer & a total Ford fanatic. Marty's time spent driving cars like the early Shelby's, GT-40's, and Cobras out of Bill's dealerships are stories to be awed by and listened to carefully. Marty also talks about his time as a magazine editor and V.P. as well as his future plans of writing a book about the GT-40 development.

It's a very enlightening show this week when Ray & Chris talk with good friends MatcoMan Brian and Luke Tucker from the EZRED company. Luke's company makes and distributes the great lighting products tool trucks like Brian's sell, and the guys wanted to share their unique symbiotic relationship with the listeners. You'll learn about the value of a good LED neck light, how supply chain issues have hurt both companies, and so much more on this installment or MotorMouth radio.

Ray & Chris talk with their friend Clay Koon about the new contacts he made at the SEMA and PRI shows, and also cover the videos he made about some very cool & innovative tools. Clay fills the boys in on his new Mobile Tool Network endeavor that was conceived after the fate of local tool truck owners was considered. The promotional electric guitar from Matco Tools also gets some air time with these music junkies.

The boys kick off the show by talking about Honda side-view mirror replacement, then Ray talks about how future fully electric cars may not have AM radios due to signal interference. Chris relates a story about a flaky ignition wire that screws with his AM radio reception, then the show gets real with a great interview with Justin Airbets from the American Gasser Hot Rod shop in Michigan.

Right out of the gate the boys talk about spotting cars by looking in garages as they drive by, then mention how the pros do it. Ray shares a rant about Internet based shipping costs and why it's a good reason to buy auto parts locally. A local car Ray spied in his neighborhood might make a good retirement project, and Chris delves into the details of checking tire pressure correctly.

The show starts off with a rant of sorts by Chris, who's complaining about a starter he recently bought at an automotive chain store. Ray picks up the torch and runs with it talking about an issue he has with Chinese carburetor rebuilding kits made for American 4-barrel carbs. Slow tire leaks & how to fix them get tossed around and the boys talk about various types of chokes found on older cars.

This week the boys ruminate over signature car interiors of the past, then Ray poses the possibility of a "herd mentality" when other SUV drivers follow his FJ but not people in passenger cars. Author and car builder Joe Hinds calls in to talk about his new 3rd Gen Hemi swap book and wows the guys when describing his AMC Gremlin project. Fuel injection vs carburetion gets tossed around as does Ray's "teenage test-bed" mentality.

A caller's question concerning oil branding kicks the boys off and leads right into fuel injector cleaning intervals. Ray poses a question asking which style of windshield washer nozzle people prefer best, which leads to the rare occasion of he and Chris agreeing! Chassis John provides an in-depth SEMA update, and Chris winds up the show with the mention of an annoying radio commercial that mentions a specific car type.

This show kicks off talking about vintage Chrysler automatic transmissions then shifts to the new S.L.E.E.P. act in NY which bans muffler and exhaust modifications. That hot topic leads the boys into a proposed ban on gas powered yard equipment and the process of converting all these fossil fuel burning engines to battery power. It's an alternatively fueled show for sure that you won't hear anyplace else!

The boys talk about subjects relating to the cloning of modern car transponder keys used to steal cars, hydro dipping of custom car parts, and the process of plating plastic parts with a chromium finish. LED lighting somehow leads to bumper re-chroming and derelict snowblower restoration, topics you'll only find on a show like MotorMouth Radio!

Ray re-visits a nagging brake maintenance issue & gets handed another one. Diagnosis & repair of a Ford blend door is a callers concern, then the profanity found on some Maine license plates is discussed. The new Ford Maverick SUV gets some airtime as do new Miller welders and a sticky slide on Chris' convertible top boot. Ray's desire to have yellow high beams in his Muscle Car makes Chris see red.

This week headlight actuator motors occupy the boys once again, with Chris still fighting for a solution to the non-working headlight doors in his vintage Chrysler. The intrinsic value an owner's manual can have for a used car buyer is discussed, then the talk turns to catalytic converter theft & how to prevent it from happening to you. Racing lawn movers, scrap metal value & the new line of Matco breast cancer awareness products round out this hour of fun.

The boys convey their love for the "Boatail" Riviera from the 70's then turn their attention to cars they've owned but don't have pictures of, like Ray's Escort GT. That car brings up the lost art of flat towing & its dangers. Carl Anthony from Automoblog.net joins the show and talks about the parts supply chain, new car telemetrics, and asks, "Who's the F&I guy?" The current line of Escort radar detectors finishes up this hour of fun.

This show starts with Ray's rant over having to pay return shipping on brake caliper cores, but things calm down when caller Paul reports on the Englishtown swap meet and his "Top 10 Best" show award. Electrical system and axle failures get some coverage, then the high tech topic of "Hydro-Dipping" car parts is discussed.

The boys talk about the high honor bestowed on Ray's GTO at the MALBA show where it won the "Best Engineering" award, then Tony DeFeo from "Uncle Tony's Garage" YouTube channel calls in to talk shop. Besides his Slant 6 racer, Slant 6 Miata and the other car builds Tony has going on, the guys still find a way to sneak in their love of Pork Bracioli - you'll only hear segues like this on MotorMouth radio folks!

Since Ray brought his recently finished GTO to this years MALBA car show the boys decided what better way to commemorate the event than by re-playing the show they did a live remote from. Back in 2018 Ray & Joe had the pleasure of sitting with Marty Schorr of Motion Performance fame at this prestigious car show by the bay. An unexpected appearance from "Dartboard Laura" made this event one to remember.

The boys are back on track with some hardcore automotive diagnostics and advice this week. Kicking off the fun is talk of why you should insure a project car even ifits not going to see the road for a few years or more. Chris reports that changing the starterrelay in his Le Baron solved the no-start problem, then Ray talked about how the wrong use of Never-Seize can turn a guy into a Tin Man clone. Sharing cars with friends dredges up some old stories, and a caller rounds out the show by asking how to test and diagnose a starter relay.

Chris' Chrysler Le Baron has a frustrating starting problem that leads to the boys taking about electrical appliance service life and failures. Joe D. calls in to recommend that the starter relay be checked before anything else is done to the Le Baron, then the talk turns to Chris' failed pressure washer and how to revive it.

Broadcasting remotely due to the hurricane that wasn't, our boys cover all sorts of car issues this week. An expensive 67 Caddy water pump, a 69 Corvette carburetor problem and an 83 Le Baron carb rebuild keep them busy, then to top it off a caller talks about tuning a 74 Mazda rotary carb! Carbs of another sort take over when ray claims he had real NY style pizza in N. Carolina, and tells you where to get it too.
