Sinopsis

When the basement of my house flooded, I lost many records and much memorabilia from all my bands. The objects I salvaged I put in a big box. I stared at them for awhile then decided to send them out into the world to a better place, where they wouldn't be ruined. This is when I began my transition into storing memories, instead of objects.Jughead's Basement Radio Show explores a different influential record each month. Writers, Performers, and Musicians join me each program to talk about their own relationship to specific songs on the record. Even though the program can be downloaded, my intention is to cultivate a live audience, so that this audience has the opportunity to call in and react in the moment, sharing their stories and their opinions, and to directly ask me questions.

    21/12/2017 Duración: 01h10min

This episode finally sees the light of day! I have been working on it for two years. I had dropped it at one point because we could not get the full band involved. But after an email thread with all the participating members it was decided to forge ahead. Sludgeworth was one my favorite bands to watch on stage during the early days of our Chicago scene (1989 - 92). So I am proud to release into the world this long awaited episode, 1995 Lookout Records compilation release of Losers of the Year including interviews with band members:Dan (Vapid) Schafer (vocals)Adam White (guitar)Mike (Strat) Hootenstart (bass)Brian (Vermin) McQuaid (drums)Thanks to my podcast team: Jeromy Corp, Paul Joseph, and Jason Brow.donations to support the podcast can be made on paypal to jugheadsbasement@gmail.comPlease support Jughead's Basement by becoming a patron at Patreonhttps://www.patreon.com/user?u=4145447

  • Episode 22 - Grim Deeds & John Jughead - Dueling Interviews

    17/12/2017 Duración: 01h15min

For Episode 22 We will be introducing a sub format for some episodes from The Basement. To help fill the long periods of time between full band episodes we will now engage in a second endeavor called Jughead’s Basement Presents: Dueling Interviews. In these episodes the interviewer and interviewee will become one, and within a previously dictated amount of time these two will pose questions for each other to answer, hopefully resulting in a somewhat meaningful conversation. Each episode will contain two randomizing elements to lead the questioning in different directions. And each interviewer/interviewee will have two minutes at the end to some up. This podcast will NOT be highly edited, and will be more of a spontaneous exploration of art and music.
