Lockdown has given me the time to me make 8 mixes in 3 weeks which is unprecedented. 2 part Drum and Bass, 2 part Afro Progressive Tech, 3 part Progressive and a one off Disco mix. The next logical set was to come back with a Deep Soulful House Mix. This reminds me most of early 2000s when soulful was the main house music you heard in the big clubs as well as on pirate radio in and around London in that era. Should be a nice little voyage through old and new..... I have called this mix Strength. Pinched from the second to last tune with vocals strength to carry on. These could have been programmed into one Afro/Tribal mix and a Progressive/Melodic Techno mix. I decided to mix it up with a 20+22 song journey through various styles over the 2 parts. It's been a hectic 8 months, literally no time to even think about music unfortunately. With sports now on hold due to the Mexican beer crisis it felt like a good time to get back on the decks. The laser in one of my turntables is struggling i had it looked at last August but its not fixable and I've not made the significant investment in new ones. I even bought 2 second hand ones online today but when they arrived they didnt work so i sent them back. I fudged through with 1.5 decks, it wasnt easy, needed some audacity treatment after..... made some of the blends a bit tight.Anyway i am pleased to annouce Isolation Part 1. I am back with my 4th mix this month, it would have been week if my CDJ lens hadn't given up temporarily. 29 tunes, 140 minutes on a house music journey! This mix is mainly soul but has a sprinkling of disco as well as a deeper cameo with a 3 tune detour with a slight garage element courtesy of JamBasha's own Adam Nyquist.
