Great news for millions of Aussies with Gigabit broadband coming, upgrades to the HFC, FTTC networks will see faster speeds, while huge parts of the FTTN network will get Fibre if they want it. An early start this morning for Apple's big event. The event went fast, shorter than this podcast in fact, but there was a lot to get through. Stephen and Trevor unpack the announcements bit by bit including the Apple Watch Series 6, the new features, the new Series SE and a great feature for families too. Plus the all new iPad is improved but changes very little on the outside, other than that the iPad Air is the standout - all new design, new colours and loads of power too.

Apple has announced their September event, but this one comes with a difference - will there even be an iPhone announced? The blokes discuss Watch and iPad rumours, along with the history of having an event at this time. Xbox Series X pricing announced, well ahead of Playstation and the pricing doesn't look too bad at $749. Samsung's 2020 Unpacked event this August was very different. Hosted online from the company HQ not at a gala event in New York the company took the chance to launch a huge range of new products. The Galaxy Note 20, Note 20 Ultra, a new pro tablet the Tab S7, a new Smart Watch and new earphones. The blokes discuss it all, including an update to the Fold! Plus, TCL's new 10 series smartphones under the review challenge, Google's affordable pixel hitting Australia soon too. And Apple updates the iMac - on the inside, and Arlo launches a standalone camera at an entry level price.

The blokes are grounded for some time - CES 2021 has been canned as a physical event and will go "all digital" - how that works? Well we don't really know. Plus Huawei surge past Samsung as the world's biggest smartphone manufacturer despite their dramas in many countries. Trev takes to the air again with a review of Microsoft Flight Simulator, Stephen looks at the cost of Spotify country vs country. NBN speeds are going up with the network removing overheads and we brush and floss our teeth!

With six months in the world like never before, it's hardly surprising our Google searches reflect the things going on in the world. Coronavirus dominates, and we look at the popular searches of the last six months. Facebook introduced App Lock for Messenger, a feature Trev reckons he's seen before and should be available at the Operating System level. Apple's annual iPhone photography competition finds three Aussies winning four prizes!
