January 19, 2020 Love People: Life is Better Together John Reynolds, Senior Associate Pastor Though we did not deserve it God loved us and sent his Son to show us how much loved us. Our response, as followers of Jesus, can't help but be to share that same love with others. Loving People is the natural expression of God’s love for us. What should that look like in our church? If I’m living the L3 Life what does Loving People really look like?

We want to go into the new decade ready to Love God, Love People, and Live Generously.  L3 is who we are at Cascade Church!  We want it to be more than a slogan.  We want L3 to be the life we each live.  Over the next four weeks we will explore what each of these statements mean and how we can live the L3 Life!

We have a better understanding of who we are when we discover WHY we are.  Today we hear more of our history as a Church and Denomination and discover why we are the Church we have become.  The real "WHY we are" Cascade is anchored in our commitment to Love God!  So how do we start to Love God in our personal lives?  Everything in our life is anchored to our ability to Love God more deeply.

Dan Bushy, Associate Pastor As we look at 2020 we need to make sure that we going after God's goal for our lives. Today we are looking at a story of one of the tribes in Israel and how they compromised in their call and didn't go in to possess their promised land. We will see the lessons we can learn from their mistakes and aim to be better ready for what God has in the future for us to do.

The wise men went on quite a journey together. An unexpected journey. We all have our share of unexpected journeys. Let's learn together some of the lessons of the wise men.

Acts 5-6 The Spirit was doing a huge work in Jerusalem!  But it was just the tip of the iceberg in the vision of what was to come.  How did the Church live in times of such brokenness? If the vision Jesus gave the disciples was going to take hold the people had to own the work!  They couldn’t go to church they had to be the church. If the broken world was going to experience Jesus the Church had to become the Body of Christ.  How will we live in our broken world?

Acts 2:1-13; 40-41 I’m sure the disciples were struggling with “I miss Jesus”, things aren’t going to be the same without Him”  The voice that had led them for three years was gone… But Jesus didn’t leave them without a Vision. Jesus was gone but He gave them a ministry statement and a vision to run with.  GO into all the nations and make disciples. Today we will find ourselves in the story of Acts chapter 2 and be encouraged to hear that God has given us a strong vision to run with.

Things were growing out of control for the early Church!  The Spirit had empowered them to a vision that was accelerating quicker than expected... The Church became a movement known NOT for it's building, programs, or speaker.  Church quickly became identified by its radical love for each other.  It was a place where lives were transformed, hearts were cared for, needs were met, and the world was changed.  What would Cascade Community Church look like if we were transformed by the Spirit and lived transformed together?
