Prayer is one of the greatest gifts we have been given as followers of Christ - to have direct access to God to offer our prayers and petitions, our worries, our struggles, our questions is something that we should not take for granted; but we do. In John 10:10 Jesus declares that He came that we might have life and life more abundantly (Full); and while most Christians are excited about the "new life" that comes from being redeemed and forgiven, they never move into the "abundance" that Christ offers. In Hebrews 4, the writer uses the idea of "rest" to explain the joy, peace, contentment, blessings and spiritual power that comes from "experiencing and living the abundant life" that Jesus promises. He also uses the wilderness wanderings of the faithless Israelites who never got to experience the "rest" of the promise land to those Christ followers who never move beyond redemption and miss out on the greatest aspect of being a Christian in this life. In the past 19 months, our nation and the world has been gripped by a worldwide Pandemic with the Coronavirus and it has affected every area of our lives - including the church and the faith of many Christ followers. Most of us lose sight of all that was lost when sin was introduced in the Garden of Eden.
