Entering the Kingdom Today - Audio
15/01/2023 Duración: 42minWe all know that we should love God, love people, and serve the world, but how do we become the kinds of people who naturally are more loving? Our new 6 week sermon series will explore what it means to learn from Jesus as His disciples in a practical way. Extra Credit Activity 1: Say to yourself, “Even though I ____, I will not be afraid, for you are with me.” (ex. Even though I got into a nasty fight with someone earlier…Even though I have to go into my horrible work tomorrow that I absolutely hate…) Activity 2: Create your own Beatitude for someone around you. “Blessed are the [describe them], for the kingdom of God is open to them too.” (ex: blessed are the autistic, blessed are the hard-to-get-along-with, the kind of awkward, etc.)Reading: Matthew 4:17-7:29, preferably in one sittingReflection/Activity: Read the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:3-10). What “unblessable” condition do you face (ex. Poor, ugly, incompetent, shy, awkward, etc.)? Say out

Dedicated Building Dedicated People - Audio
08/01/2023 Duración: 49minAfter almost 30 years of renting, last year God provided a building for us to own. However God's church is not a physical building, but His people. This Sunday we will dedicate our place of worship to our Lord Jesus Christ. Maybe more importantly we will hear from the story of Nehemiah's dedication of the rebuilt Jerusalem wall what it means to be God's dedicated people.

Christ The Savior - Audio
18/12/2022 Duración: 32minDo you truly see Jesus as a Savior? The idea of a savior is likely not common for most of us today. Especially with that "can do" spirit that fosters a false sense of self-sufficiency, many don't think they need one? But there are some hardships or trials that human efforts will not overcome. That's where Jesus can save us if we let him. In Luke 2, the lowly shepherds were given this good news: 1. Jesus came to offer us salvation (v.11). From the hymn Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, "Born to give them second birth." 2. Jesus lives among us (v.12). From the hymn, "Hail, the incarnate Deity." 3. Jesus brings reconciliation with God, that gives us peace (v.14). From the hymn, "Peace on earth...God and sinners reconciled." Can we be like the lowly shepherds and accept Jesus as our savior? Tag line: "Jesus is our savior; don't live life without Him."

Is It Justly to Think Only Just He? - Audio
13/11/2022 Duración: 40min"Letting justice roll down, as Amos proclaims, means letting it bring healing to ourselves, to each other and to our land with the quenching waters that make wrongs right as they cleanse the dirt and filth of injustice. God teaches us to love good and hate evil, but our world is filled with both our own greed and individual injustice and systems of injustice. We will take a look at how the system of patriarchy in particular have meant a lack of justice for widows and orphans and led to human rights abuses against women until this day. We will look at how scripture shows us how God made both man and woman in God's own image with a plan for our mutual flourishing in the kingdom work of justice."

Is It Justice to Think Just Us? - Audio
06/11/2022 Duración: 40minInjustice permeates our world, yet as Christians we sometimes turn a blind eye to the suffering of others or become callaus. King Jeroboams' reign had been quite profitable for the Northern Kingdom, at least in a material sense but moral decay was settling in. And so God spoke through the prophet Amos that He was going to judge the people of Israel - 'The Northern Kingdom' because of their Privileged Positions, Prophetic Revelations, and their Persistent Opressions. Israel were selling off needy people for goods, taking advantages of the helpless, oppressing the poor, and the men were using women immorally.

Desperately Seeking to Belong - Audio
30/10/2022 Duración: 33minZacchaeus. We all want to belong, because we have been created for community. But unfortunately people are more likely to be exclusive rather than inclusive. Zacchaeus the tax collector was one who wanted to belong, but he was instead excluded by his own people. 1. As an outcast, Zacchaeus desperately wanted to see Jesus. (v.2-4) 2. Jesus sees the marginalized and his presense brings great joy. (v.5-6) 3. Jesus came to "seek and save the lost" like Zacchaeus. (v.9-10) Who in your midst do you need to see? Maybe it is even you. Come to Jesus, and if you are desperate, he will see you. Being seen brings joy to the unseen.
